      I would not give any stars for this company. i signed up for benefits and life insurance late december. in january they charged be twice and when i questioned it they said my contract was put in as being initiated at the beginning of december. the date they gave was before i even made contact. so my question was if i had been in an accident prior to the date i actually signed the contract, canada life would've covered me? wow i thought. not too many insurance companies would do that! lol no response back to my question. it is now four months later and i have not received money back or an explanation as to why i would be charged for time on a contract i was not signed up for. last week may 14 i called to ask a few questions about my current policy and how it works if i start benefits with my new position. well i was told that they couldnt answer it because my birthdate i was giving didnt match up! lol yet my contract that was sent to me via email had the right birthdate on it. 3 and half hours later i was still being tossed from one person to the next. no answers to date. the person i signed up under said she would call me friday. she didnt. she then responded yesterday six days later " i believe your questions have been answered, you can contact us at "their number" if you have further concerns. lol oh dear. no i am not spending another 3 1/2 hours of my life while at work to get the run around. i emailed back and said " no my questions have not been answered. please call me back like you have promised in january and last week. please give me a time and date so i can be available" as this too is a game they play. they dont commit to a time and date and call when you are busy. i can't believe a company dealing with peoples benefits and life insurances are not mandated to be BBB accredited. i have asked for managers contacts and names and it is avoided. where do we go from here? so sad. very very frustrating all around. would not reccomend

      I have never, ever see a company stall, give someone the run around, make excuses for giving me money that is owed to me.       *** **** accepted claims from my optometrist for 20 years, with no problems whatsoever.
      When I submitted a claim for contact lenses to Canada Life they rejected it. Their only explanation is that they no longer accept claims from this optometrist. He is fully licenced and has been practicing for 20 years. He tried to contact Canada Life many many times about this issue but the people who answer the phone have no clue as to why, and transfer him to someone else who might know. They either don't know or he gets an answering machine. He leaves a message but nobody ever gets back to him. **** ** ** ** ******* * ******** ************ *** *** **** *** ******* Every time I submit a claim it is rejected and I have to do all kinds of crazy useless waste of time things to get it approved.       After being with this company for more than a year through my employer, they consistently provide poor incomplete direction on how to process pre-approval claims. Do not take ownership of problems with web access and or the phone app. Request constantly you to confirm your banking information for direct deposit.       **** ******* ** **** *********** After talking to 4 different people we established 1 they always have a excuse to not be able to "verify' who you are
      2 they can not get on the same page to answer your questions
      3 they stall having anyone return your calls, 4 when they are caught being ********* they blow it off till they find someone else to call you 2 weeks later ** *** **** *** **** ** ****** ********* 5 not allowed to make a complaint unless the person you are complaining about forwards and agrees with your complaint
      6 ** *** ***** your beneficiary/ies will have problems collecting your benefits. **** **** ****** *** **** ** *** **** ***** **** **** ****** **** ** **** ****

      **** ********* * ******** ** * ******** ****** ** ** * ******* ******* ***********  They don't answer phones. They barely answer emails. When they do it's not the information requested. **** ** **** ** ***** ***** ** **** ***** **** ** *** ***. BTW they never pay out on time. It takes several months to get a partial payment. They deny everything. You have always fight for what's supposed happen. One guy (* **** *** ****) even yelled at me for five minutes. I am disabled and he yelled at to get a job and that I should be working. I've had other insurance companies. This is by far the worst I have come across in 4 countries.

      Two years ago I submitted a claim for my daughter's orthotics, and from "Canada life" were sending me back and forth multiple times, to the doctor who gave us the prescription, because they did not like the prescription. Two weeks ago, I submitted a claim for my son's orthotics, and the same story again. Their statement is the following: "Symptoms like ?foot pain? are not sufficient." Even if the doctor is not the same, they still do not like the prescription. I reached out to their customer service and asked what is going to change if the doctor writes more. They did not provide an answer. * ****** *** **** *********** *** ******** ********** ** *********** ********** **** *** *** ****** **** ******* I asked to escalate my case and to make a complaint, and I was told that a manager will call me. That did not happen either. Then I reached out for assistance, the person from my employer's HR responsible for relations with "Canada life" *** **** ******** *** ********* ******* ******* ******* * ************ **** * ********** ********** ** *********** **** *** ******* *********. ******** **** **** **** *** *** ************ Because of my previous experience with them I am pretty confident, that even if I request another prescription from the doctor, they will not like it, after multiple visits to the clinic and multiple prescription provided, then they will not like the papers from the orthotics clinic. ** ** ***** **** **** ** *** **** ** **** *** **** *** ****** ** **** ** ** **** ** ******** *** *** ** ***
