We took a chance to purchase a vehicle through Clutch and have regretted it ever since. Right away were charged $1000 more because we were paying cash and not financing. When we picked up the vehicle, the smell inside was awful and got worse each day. It actually smelled like an animal had multiple accidents and it wasn't properly cleaned. By day 6 the check engine light and auto start/stop warning light came on so we initiated a return. When we brought the vehicle in, we were expected to hand over the keys and walk away with nothing. No paperwork to sign, nothing confirming we had returned it, no receipt. The rep finally agreed to send us an email confirming the return and said we would receive the return bill of sale within a few hours. After a few hours we got a call from someone else saying it had to go through a mechanical inspection first to confirm we didn't steal any parts, that's actually what she said to us, and the return bill of sale would be sent to us in a few days. Still nothing to confirm our return at this point. Every rep we spoke with had a different set of rules and excuses we hadn't heard yet and all of them were very disrespectful. The terms and conditions website for the 10 day return policy that was included on the bill of sale is not a valid website address so there's nowhere we can even see all these conditions on paper. We're still waiting for the return bill of sale and are sick to our stomachs waiting for it and the refund to come through. Save yourself the headache and stress and stay away from this company.

I sold my 2022 ***** Accord on Clutch a few days ago and it was a fantastic experience. Super easy and I was honest with disclosure so I got exactly the price I was quoted. No games, no haggling and my money was electronically deposited by the time I got home. It was so much better than going to a dealership or selling privately. I would definitely use Clutch again.

On Aug 24/24, my wife and I placed a $100 deposit on a vehicle on CLUTCH which was verified to hold the vehicle. CLUTCH responded on Aug 24/24 to direct us to "Next Steps" online to continue the purchase, including financing steps. We completed the steps including an estimation of the trade-in value of our current vehicle towards the new vehicle. At no time was a Lien Buyout confirmation requested.
On August 31, 2024, CLUTCH Representative confirmed vehicle would be transported from their location in Ontario to their Bedford NS offices to arrive Sept 4/24; and at the same time confirming Financing approval.
On September 4, 2024, we completed the online BILL of SALE with CLUTCH, which confirmed purchase and delivery expectations from Toronto ON to Bedford NS. However, later that day the CLUTCH Representative emailed us to say delivery of the vehicle was delayed until Sept 5, 2024.
On Sept 4/24, the CLUTCH Rep called us to say there was an issue with the trade-in estimate we provided; he said, "I made a mistake" in not verifying the estimated value when I submitted financing documentation to the lender, CIBC. As a result, the original bi-weekly payment would have to be increased by around $20, to which we reluctantly agreed.
The CLUTCH Rep called again on Sep 4 saying they were attempting to make the deal still work and suggested removing the cost of the extended warranty as well as another $500 fee but it still left difference of $1100.00, which we would be required to pay.
On Sept 4, we informed the CLUTCH Rep we cannot afford that added expense along with removing the peace of mind of an extended warranty on a 7-year old vehicle and so we are now out on the purchase and requested our deposit returned. The REP confirmed we would get the $100 deposit refunded but NOT the $499 plus tax delivery fee.
The error falls with CLUTCH for not verifying all submitted information before commencing a financing approval. We demand FULL REFUND of the delivery fee of $573.85.

The customer representative cancelled our deal without our permission or consent and hung up on us. We were merely asking about paying for the car outright and why we weren’t eligible for a better loan rate. We make very good money and have excellent credit so were puzzled why we wouldn’t qualify for the best rates. We were told they dodn’t want us to pay a large deposit and finance for a short time!

Worst buying experience in a lifetime when purchasing a motor vehicle.
I found the sales rep misuse to seem desperate she added a $9600. After market Warranty package without permission and refused to cancel after we complained.
She did not provide the financing information for 3 months after receiving the vehicle?
Just incompetent and intentionally trying to pad the deal leaves a sour taste.
Escalated to their owners issue still has $200 they assured me I would be refunded outst

Clutch.ca is to car buying as ****** was to book purchases 20 years ago--a completely new, innovative way to making such transactions that is cheaper, better, and destined to become the new standard for most buyers. It is on-line based, and simple to use. Designed around enhancing the customer experience, Clutch eliminates most of the stress of buying a car by providing more inventory, at lower prices, without the negotiations of a middleman striving to maximize profit in an environment where you invariably lack all the information required to make an informed decision. This process is upfront, data informed, and removes needless negotiations. In my case, I was able to purchase a vehicle, trade-in a vehicle, and sell a third vehicle all in one simple transaction. Overall, I saved several thousands from what dealerships would offer for my vehicles, and almost as much for the nearly new SUV I purchased! This new company is going to be a disrupter in the car industry. All should explore the potential of Clutch

Clutch website is not user friendly nor is the staff. I was going to buy a car as CASH. It's known that dealerships do not like these type of transactions as they make little or no money on financing. Clutch has many packages to choose from, but that's not always customers choice.
The package of my choice was basic with a 10 day money back guarantee, $0 cost..
What Clutch advised is that because I'm Aboriginal and exempt from HST, I would have to chose the extended package at a rate of $1500. Which allows 90 day money back guarantee.
As per the website, delivery of this car to Ottawa is $50. My reserve is 2 hours closer than Ottawa in Belleville.
As an Aboriginal, I should be exempt from tax regardless of dealership inadequacies to modify the online system. When I spoke to the staff, she wouldn't present my case to management, she simply advised they can't modify the packages and hung up on me.
I've bought two cars cash in the last 10 years and I've never had worse service. Would not recommend this service to anyone.

As someone who recently attempted to purchase a car through Clutch.ca, I can confidently say that it was a decision I regret deeply. From the initial browsing to the final stages of the transaction, Clutch.ca proved to be a disappointing and frustrating experience.
Firstly, the website itself is a mess.
Once you do manage to find a car you're interested in, good luck getting any useful information about it. The descriptions provided are vague and often misleading, leaving out crucial details about the vehicle's condition and history. It's impossible to make an informed decision when you're left in the dark about the most basic information. You can't see the car until you buy it, and they are extremely pushy to have it sold to you.
It's abundantly clear that Clutch.ca has little regard for customer satisfaction or support.
Even if you do manage to successfully purchase a car through Clutch.ca, don't expect a smooth transaction. There's no guarantee that it will be in the condition described. These guys are just a money grab ******.
Overall, my experience with Clutch.ca was a complete disaster. From the poorly designed website to the lack of customer support and unreliable transactions, there's nothing redeemable about this company. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your car-buying needs.

PLEASE BEWARE!! This company is a complete **** as so many other have stated in their reviews here. Be careful if you are considering to sell your car to them! They give you an ok “offer” to get you in person for them to lowball you at the inspection. It’s not just a lowball they literally want to steal your vehicle from you, offering you thousands of dollars less than it’s actually worth. Knew it was sketchy when I pulled into a hotel to meet “clutch” not an actual business or dealership!
