I’ve been a Cogeco client for over 13 years now. My latest bill increased by 25%, over $50 without notification or email. They have done this before. In the past, I would call to discuss the increase, they would re-bundle with the latest promotion, apologize, and that would be that until the promotion would expire. Repeat. Well now it’s impossible to speak to a representative. I’ve called numerous times. The wait time would be “2 mins” yet I’m still on hold 40 mins later. I would choose the call back option within 24-48 hours. It’s the third day now with no call. Their message system states to chat with a representative online, it’s a bot. I went to go visit the Cogeco store, no longer there. ******* ****** **** *** **** ***** ********* ** ***** ***** I will be looking into other options now.Cogeco Connexion

Usually, when the bill rises by a large amount, it is due to the promotions that were on the account reaching the end of their planned length (12 months, 24 months, etc.)
If contacting us through our phone line does not work, we can recommend either contacting us through our social media platforms or our chatbox on our website.

A salesman came to our home and PROMISED us a price and GUARANTEED that this is the price for the next 2 years, that our rate will not go up. Come March they decide to increase our bill by $5. Well that's not what was promised to us. Here I am 4 months later still fighting with Cogeco. The loyalty dept. lady kept repeating that "rates are subject to change" and it would have been in the paperwork sent to us. So the salesman **** to us, we signed up and then they send *** paperwork and in the fine print it says this? Cogeco ** * **** *** ***** ** the little people *** trust companies to stick to their promises. Then they said if I cancelled then I would have to pay a cancellation fee of $75 and that's when I told her that MY terms and conditions I don't pay cancellation fees. Because if a company can have terms and conditions, then so can I. This company repeatedly sends out door-to-door salespeople in my ******** neighbourhood. We've had the same two young men and others come to our door several times despite telling them each time we're not interested and to please not come back. They are very aggressive and ********* and made me feel very uncomfortable. *** ** **** *** *** *** ***** * ******** * ********** * ******* ******** * **** *********** **** ** ***** ********** ***** ** *******! If I wish to change cable service providers, I'm quite capable of doing so on my own. I don't like to be harangued on my doorstep. ** ***** **** * ***** ******* ** *********** This is not the way to win customers! If they won't take "no" for an answer, which they clearly don't, they need to stop this practice. It's unprofessional and makes the company appear unserious and amateurish. I would rather sit through an annoying TV or radio commercial where they clearly and honestly outline the benefits of their service than have an ********* **** push me for a contract simply by saying they "can offer half the price" of what we're currently paying. Professionalism and quality customer service are a lot more valuable than low prices. Inexpensive can mean cheap, but **********, in-your-face, door-to-door sales pitches definitely make the business look cheap. Based on this experience, I would sooner go without cable and internet than go with this service provider. Find a better marketing strategy.Cogeco Connexion

Terrible. Charged me for a year for 4K channels that were never provided. Technicians repeatedly failed to install 4k and yet the company continued to charge me for it. Attempts to complain resulted in an endless bureaucratic runaround. *** * **************** ***************Cogeco Connexion

Hi! The 4K channels that are usually offered are mostly sports channels, as the majority of the channels offered send us their signal in HD quality. Had a rep call after signing a new lease (landlord provided info?) and answered some questions for basic information. Was then bombarded with emails of my contract and account number. I do not have a contract and so shouldn't have an account number. Texted the rep who said it was for information purposes only and to hold prices for 2 years, but that I had to call to cancel the contract. Bill started at 50/month. Went up to 105 within 2 years for same service. Called to complain and they offered $5 off/month. Called back to cancel a week later and they offered $65 off per month. Too late. Will never again be a cogeco customer. ***** company that attracts customers with low cost then jacks up the cost every month. Hi! We haven't offered fixed rates services for about 5 years now. What we offer are fixed promotions that stay the same for the specified amount of time, so price hikes can happen on the basic services. I got cogeco internet and tv for my new house. There was a promotion. Within two months, they were charging more than I had agreed to. When I called, I learned that I didn't have a "contract", but a "service arrangement". There are the base fees and then there's a promotion. They are unrelated, distinct. They then increase the base fees at their whim but you still have the promotion! What a deal!!! I had only been a customer for two months and when I said I hadn't been notified of this increase, they said they sent a notification three months before the increase in fees. And that's why I wasn't notified.
