      Have had numerous calls on my personal phone number asking to speak to Mr. **** ******* who is not a human being which whom I have contact with. I do not have his contact either, whether phone or email. I have told them on numerous occasions, but they keep harassing me for his contact and refuse to take down my phone number even though I have asked, and they said they would every time they contact me. They call, I stay on hold, and then they hang up. They call again and same thing, could be 15 min before I get someone on the line when the company is the one calling me.

      I want my phone number taken out of Mr. ******'s file. I have enough of my life to worry about without having to screen calls and deal with other people's problems.

      I received a letter from Matthew D. of Veritas Accounts Incorporated of Toronto, Ontario regarding a supposed outstanding debt. This was the first communication from this person and/or company. It claims a ridiculous amount of $42,316.37 as the current balance. With a settlement offer of $31,737.28.

      As I've recently reviewed my credit reports with both agencies in Canada, I immediately recognized this as something that did not belong to me. I did a quick ****** search on the company, and lo and behold, it quickly lead me to the Better Business Bureau. Which then lead me to the outrageous list of complaints against this company. What I find even more interesting is that, even though ******** shows that they have over 50 employees, Matthew D. seems to be the only one "signing" these letters.

      Further, many reports are for a far smaller amount than my letter. I am kind of shocked that there haven't been as many like my letter. But the gist of the situations are the same, and thus why I am filing this complaint. I don't anticipate a public response though, given how this individual continually chooses to respond to complaints privately.

      Finally, I want to warn anyone that gets a letter in any form from this company or this individual, DO NOT PAY THEM!!!!!! As someone with a career in the financial field, and over 30 years of credit experience, it is obvious this is nothing but an outright ****.

      With that said, if you're paying them the measly couple hundred bucks like many complaints reference, it might not be a big deal. But, when you're talking about tens of thousands of dollars, obviously that can impact your life quite incredibly.

      I strongly encourage anyone to check their credit report, from both reporting agencies, at least annually. Then, you will be able to see if there are any issues that actually do require your attention. Further, you will then be able to examine to see if what is outlined in this **** letter is real or fake.

      I am rejecting this response because: As previously outlined, it is my understanding this debt is not owed by me, and I would request that it be deleted immediately. Even if it were a debt that I incurred, as you suggest, many years ago (beyond the statute barred period), you ought to be aware it is something that you cannot legally pursue further. By saying this, I am not acknowledging the debt as mine, simply pointing out a fact that a reputable collection agency and/or lawyer would be aware of.

      Under the Consumer protection Act, if a business claims I owe them money ( which clearly Veritas have already claimed I owe them which is why they have place an item in my credit report for over $5000) then as a consumer I am demanding they show me a contractual agreement of this claim . If they are unable to do so then I demand the item which has been placed in my credit report by Veritas be removed . No contract No deal.

      Veritas Alliance Incorporated, have literally been ********* me with 2 mailed letters and daily calls saying i owe $4,271.92 from a *****'s account and have a special offer for me to pay only $2135.96. The fact is that I have never had any services with ******. I want them to stop calling & ********* and disrupting my daily life. Is there any legal remedies I can go forward with?

      Just want to make you ware that just this afternoon when arriving home from work, I have now received another suspicious letter from Veritas (********) now stating that I have an unpaid bill but with ***** this time for the amount of $3,241.26 and needs to paid by Jan.31/24. This is again ridiculous because I do not have or every have head any ***** service or account. Should this not be elevated to the RCMP for further investigation ******* **** ** ********* **** **** ** **** ***.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      With all do respect, why is it that i need to provide all my personal info requested by Veritas but they will not provide any proof what so ever on their end? The same way they want me to provide the last 3 digits of my SIN, they can also do the same on what SIN number they have on file. Same with the drivers licence, for example, what year do they have as a DOB? I was born in 1973!!!

      What i can do, as i recently was forced to sign up & pay for ******* because of this transgression created by Veritas, is provide some screenshots of my credit info. In previous correspondence, Veritas mentioned they had contacted ******* but as you can see on the ******* report they are not even listed on the inquiry report. What is also not listed is NO DEBT OWING towards ****** or *****. 

      As far as contacting their office, I have spoken 2 the Quebec rep ******* ***** on 2 different occasions, trying to explain the situation that i am not the person they are looking for and let's just leave it as there will not be 3rd time.

      Finally, if the complaints on-line were only from ******, I could understand your reservation. Please find a link from numerous other complaints filed also directly with the BBB with similar situations as this one. Please make this make sense!!

      I have filed an official report with the RCMP, forwarding all correspondence between myself, BBB & Veritas and mailed both mailed letters received by Veritas concerning the ****** & ***** debt owed. They have also advised me not to share any of my personal info, especially #SIN numbers, with any party going forward. They asked that i also file a report with local authorities as-well & to contact the consumer protection Agency of Quebec.

      I received an email dated November 15, 2023 stating that I owe money to ***** *******. Balance is $3856.26 with a settlement offer of $1156.88. I bought a mattress from ***** ******* in May 2021. This was paid weekly ($32.27) using **** ********* and paid in full on May 12, 2022. I went in-person to ***** ******* and was told that ***** ******* does not finance loans. Loans are through **** *********. My credit report also does not show any amount owing from ***** *******.

      I am rejecting this response because as I stated, ***** ******* confirmed to me in-person and over the phone that they don't finance products from their store but send it to **** *********.  I purchased a mattress on May 11, 2021 and it was paid weekly ($32.27) from an automatic withdrawal from my bank account. Mattress was paid in full on May 12, 2022. Veritas is claiming that their client is *** *****, ***** *******. ***** ******* has no such account and they are not your client as ***** ******* confirmed. Stop contacting me.

      I received many emails and phone calls from this business stating I owe over $1700 from some bill in 2009. I do not recognize this debt and have requested validation for this have written multiple times I have tried calling multiple times and I was hung up on a few times because they couldn't provide information the employee started calling me down when I r quested the follow questions written below, they said all I do is take out bills and never pay and I can’t afford a lawyer to go to courts and to just pay. He was extremely **** and has anger problems and started to try and ask me about a debt I’m actually making monthly payments too(which I have proof and am paying it because I know I owe it) he then continued to badger me how I am just one of those people **** **** ****** *** 
      The following validation is what I requested, which I am entitled too as this is some debt from 15 years ago that I do not recognize

      1. Original contract with wet signature of the debt
      2. Creditor information- Name, phone number and address of original merchant
      3. Payment history from the original contract that reflects on how this amount came too
      4. Proof of ownership that your company is authorized to collect the debt.

      He refuses to provide this information but continues to ****** me by phone and email and continue to be ******** *******.
      I would like this debt to be removed from my name as I do not recognize it and they cannot validate the requested information

      Oct 17th I received a letter from Veritas Alliance Incorporated stating that I owe $6553.26 to *****, but they will settle for 2,621.30. Then they went on to say in another email that the debt is only 1400 some odd dollars?

      When I responded that this is likely a 15 year old debt, and associated with an identity fraud situation and that I have already told their client *** ********** ******** *** that. I told them to take me to court if they feel so strongly about it and to stop contacting me.

      I told them that they SPECIFICALLY are to never contact me again about any debt as I believe the are ********** since they can't get their numbers straight.

      Today I receive a phone call from their robo dialer and sit waiting for 5 mins for it to connect me to a girl who can barely clearly state who she is and what she is calling for. When pushed to explain why she is calling me she demands I identify myself.

      I refuse and read the email from her boss promising that they will never contact me again. Then I swore at her for ********* me.

      I re-emailed her boss to demand that they cease calling me, to which he replied that he is angry I swore at his staff and now he is calling on behalf of ******? I live in an area service by ******!

      He kept sending emails complaining I am rude everytime I demanded he stop contacting me. I am now filing a police report for harassment.

      I was contacted by Mathew D. from Veritas Alliance Inc., *** ****** *** ***** *** ******** *** *** *** by a letter delivered to my residential mailbox demanding money to be paid. This firm states that they represent *** ********** ******** *** and the **** ** ******** ****** **** ******* ********** .
      They demand a settlement payment of $1,530.83 of the current balance of $3,061.66.

      I do not have any financial debts or responsibilities towards the **** ** ********.

      Veritas Alliance has been ******** my phone lately with automatic dialers and when I finally called them back to find out what was going on they started getting verbally *********** *** ******* demanding I pay them a collections for Rogers of $2400 that is not represented on my ******* reports or any credit reports online I had done in the past and doubted their claim only for more aggression. I tried to remain calm and firmly told her to stop being combative and talk with me properly like a civil adult which was only responded to them being more elevated so I knew it was futile, so I told them they need to figure that out with *******, remove my name from their list and stop calling me, to which I got verbally ******** and ********** more before I hung up.

      Received letter in the mail stating that they are collecting on a debt from my previous Marriage that was on the list when I filed for bankruptcy in 2001. I was released from my bankruptcy in 2007. I am not responsible for debt that occurred. Nothing shows on present credit reports for this debt. They are supposedly collecting for the **** ** ********. The account was closed in 2000.
