The first time I reached out to Enercare was to replace my hot water heater last year, which was a challenging process from start to finish. The second, most recent time was to replace my AC unit with an even worse quality of service. The cooling system in my home failed just before the first heat wave, so I called Enercare to troubleshoot my existing system and potentially replace it, if needed. The sales team confirmed they'd send a technician the same day to identify the issue and based on their findings we'd go from there. Someone from Enercare did arrive at my door, however this person didn't show up with any HVAC tools - just a giant tablet. This person didn't physically test any of my equipment, instead just did a very quick visual check and recommended replacing not just my AC but also the entirety of my high velocity air exchanger and the coils - pushing the 'standard practice' narrative on the (supposed) unsuspecting customer. This representative was **** enough to also take 4 unrelated calls while being in my home - in fact he interupted me once to take a call in the middle of my explanation of the issue.
I called back another company at 9 am today for an assessment and they left having completed the full extent of the work at 3:30 pm - my home is already 4 degrees cooler. I also called Enercare to cancel the install appointment only to be faced with an hour long runaround process spread out among 4 different call centre agents - 3 of whom had no clue how to cancel my appointment so they kept shuffling me to the next person (employees with little or no situational awareness at likely no fault of their own).
I will never deal with this company again, even as a last resort.

I currently have an Enercae Protection Plan Total Home. The Plan renewed in April, since then I purchased new refrigerator, Range and Dishwasher. My washer and dryer are 25 years old and will replace when they are no longer working. I tried to cancel the Total Home Plan, but was told I could not cancel it -per contract, which I've renewed for the whole year and would have to pay for the full year if I wanted to cancel it. The cost is roughly $60CDN per month. This is ridiculous and just a money grab, especially since I have only had to use the service once in the past year. Prior to that I had used the plumbing service. **** **** ** *** ****** **** ***** **** ****** **** ***** ** **** * ******** **** *********

We purchased a home and *** inherited the hot water heater rental. Tried to get out of this ******** business model. They said we can't just return the equipment and get our own. It's either continue to rent or buyout the contract. You get get a brand new hot water heater with the buyout amount they offered on our 8 years old hot water heater.
Also, once you told them you want to get out of the ********** contract, call center agents just talk down to you, talk over you and pass you around to multiple people to try to frustrate you. They just hope this will discourage people from leaving them.

I recently bought a home that has a water heater the previous owner rented from this company enercare.
On the paperwork form my realtor had a price 0f 38.38 per month
When I recieved MY first bill in February it says $57plus then the next bill $63 plus.
I contacted my realtor and had him on a 3 way call with these people enercare somewhere in (Columbia,Porto Rico etc)
They requested a copy of.the original documents from the previous owner and said they will get back to us.
I called over 9 times or more form January till day may 22 nd 2025.
Jus got pushed around from one employee to another.
I don't even want to mention to hrs a spent put in on hold while they communicate within them selves.
      It's absolutely ridiculous
This company should not be in business at all.

I left a review for them and someone with an initial of LV responded and soad to email him
I sent 2 email to LV and still waiting.

THIS COMPANY HAS THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
The matter is not yet resolved 5 months now.

      I jus contact my lawyer,
      BBB and consumer affairs.
      Let's see what will happen.

      I AM LEAVING A -- 5 star review

**** ******* ****** ** **** *** *********** For starters I am a renter. Not only do I have no say about the hot water tank (was previously with ******** and the tank was rusted, when I called to have it replaced I was told I’m not entitled to request that only my landlord is meanwhile I am the one paying the rental fee, why is unknown but some how now it’s with enercare and again I never agreed to anything) Not only do I receive a paper bill, but I receive emails and texts continually reminding me of my bill which is “past due”. I owe 90.00 some dollars *** * ** ********** ******** **** *** This is completely unacceptable. ** ******** **** *** *** **** *** * ***** *** ********* **** **** ****** ***** *** **** ** *** ****** *** ** ** **** ** *** *** * ****** *** ** ** ** ***** **** *** ******* But to be ******** over a 90.00 bill with multiple emails, multiple texts, plus a paper bill and some times more than one bill ** ******** ********** Esspecially when I never even agreed to moving my hot water tank over to this company and I am just the renter who has no rights to anything.

We are currently dealing with a water heater rental issue. The house was already set up with Enercare when we bought it. As of this past Monday, the unit has been having problems, and the only way to solve it is to reset it. It requires a part, which is apparently unable to be found. Even the service technician is lost as to what is going on. There is no contact or information on where this magical part is, just left with two days of waiting and an entire weekend lost. 1 out of 4 customer service reps I spoke with on the phone was helpful, the other three were ****** **** and raising their voices ** ******
This has been beyond unacceptable. At this point, I'd prefer to break the contract and install my own water heater. **** ** ******** ********

***** **** **** ** **** ********* ******* They can't seem to understand basic instructions. I requested to speak with a Supervisor and was passed around to 4 different agents having to repeat the same information every time. and neither of them was a supervisor. I spent over 35 minutes just doing this. Folks, when booking a service with Enercare and they ask you if the Technician can make recommendations, please say "NO". The technician tried to convince me to get a new high efficiency furnace and when I said i'll think about it, he issued me a safety violation stating my furnace needs to be turned around. I've owned the house (resale) for 8 years and never had any issues. Other technicians have been to the house previously for regular maintenance services over the years and they even changed my water heater and now all the sudden my furnace needs to be turned around. I've been issued a notice by ******** threatening to cut off my gas service until the issue is resolved. They will not listen to me or do anything unless Enercare notifies them that the issue has been resolved. **** ** ************* ***** **** ** ******* *** ***** *********** *** **********

********* ********** ********** **** ******** **** ***** I discovered Enercare were still issuing bills under the previous homeowner's name - despite ******** correctly using my name on their statements.
I immediately contacted customer service to update the account information. While Enercare took my personal details, the representative redirected me to their Moving Department. After a challenging conversation, Moving Department staff assured me multiple times that the account transfer would involve no cancellation or setup fees. Believing the matter resolved, I was shocked when subsequent bills continued to show the previous owner's name.
Upon following up, I was told the original account needed to be closed before opening a new one in my name. I specifically reconfirmed there would be no associated fees, yet months later I received a substantial cancellation charge while bills still carried the wrong name.
This began months of frustrating exchanges with Enercare. While I eventually obtained my own account, I can still see both:
      1) The previous owner's account with cancellation penalties
      2) My active account
From July through December, 2024 Enercare:
      - Demanded I pay the cancellation fee
      - Sent collection notices addressed to the previous owner
      - Bombarded me with calls and emails for payment
***** ***** ****** **** ** ********* ** ****** ***** in December, a representative promised to remove my information from the previous account. While the old account remains visible in my portal, the collection attempts temporarily stopped.
However, on April 1st this year, a third-party collector hired by Enercare began ********* me about the previous owner's debt. They possessed all my contact details - shared ********** by Enercare - and threatened to report the debt to credit agencies despite it not being in my name.
I've since escalated the matter with Enercare and am awaiting their investigation results.
