      These salesmen came around door to door and I signed up because they promised a lower gas rate than ****.       Locked into undisclosed terms, accidental energy switch sent us into cancellation terms. When we discovered what happened, we were still in their predetermined rescission period where we could switch back without fee. We spoke with several people, all on recorded lines, that said we were fine and didn't have a bill. Then we received a bill! We sent it to their investigators who then **** about what was said on the recorded calls and claim that we now still owe cancellation fees. ********!

      They straight up **** to my face at my front door about their intention and affiliation with ***. I had an SFE Energy representative come to my door claiming they could help reduce my **** gas bill. The rep had a badge,and made it sound like they were affiliated with **** and part of a state program. I explicitly declined to sign up.
      After the visit, I realized how misleading the interaction was. They leveraged frustration with **** and presented themselves in a way that made it seem routine and official — when it was neither. I never gave consent to enroll - do not give them any details. I changed my *** account information just to be sure and emailed SFE Energy to confirm that no enrollment was authorized.
      This kind of misleading, *** ********* behavior needs to stop. Companies like this ******* confusion and trust — especially among people who may not realize what's happening until it’s too late. * ******** **** ****** *** ** ***** *** *********** ** ****** **** **** ******* ** *** *****

      **** **** ******** * **** *** * ***** *** **** **** *** ***** This company came to our private community around mid 2023 in a way that appeared to me that I would be required to accept this service **** * ** ******* *** * ***** ******* *** ******** *** they sure fooled me My bills increased by an average of $45 or more When I tried to cancel the service, I was told that I would have to pay $390 That was when I realized this company is nothing more than a sales firm who tagged onto my **** bill. Fortunately, because I did complain, they lowered the contract down to three years and lowered the price a little bit From now on, I’ll know better I’m telling people even though it embarrasses me to do so because I was so taken in

      In July an energy consultant came to our door explaining that SFE Energy would save us money by having cheaper energy rates in a 12 month program and would get us a $75 rebate on our energy bill.
      When we received our bill this month it was $50 MORE then before we had SFE due to unexplained daily surcharges that were part of the contract, and when attempting to sign with another energy provider we were cited a cancelation fee of $7.50/mo for the remaining terms of a contract that was for 36mos, not 12, 3x longer than stated.

      These guys solicited us to sign onto their company without telling us the contract terms other than the pricing per therms. We were told there were no extra costs other than the fact that our gas prices would be lowered, which it didn't because now we were charged delivery fees as well. Now we have to pay an early cancelation fee of $390 because we realized how this increased the prices we were paying for utility.

      I am writing a complaint against SFE Energy regarding their misrepresentation of service rates and unjustified charges that I have incurred as a customer.
      On a day in April 2024, two representatives from SFE Energy visited my home and offered me an electricity rate of 9 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh), which was lower than the 11 cents per kWh rate I was paying with *** Electric Utilities at the time. During our discussion, I explicitly asked if there were any additional charges or early termination fees associated with switching to SFE. The representatives assured me that there were no other charges whatsoever, and that there would be no early termination fee.
      Based on these assurances, I agreed to switch my electricity supplier to SFE Energy. However, after receiving my bills for the last four months, I discovered the following discrepancies:
      Rate Charged: Instead of the promised rate of 9 cents per kWh, SFE has been charging me 9.69 cents per kWh.
      Customer Charge: In addition to the increased rate, SFE has imposed a monthly "customer charge" of $29.70, which was never disclosed during my conversation with their sales representatives. This charge has further increased my overall electricity costs, making my total payment higher than what I was paying with ***.
      Early Termination Fee: Upon realizing the discrepancies and the misrepresentation by SFE, I attempted to cancel my service. However, SFE is now charging me an early termination fee, despite their representatives explicitly stating that no such fee would apply.
      I have spent two days trying to resolve these issues directly with SFE Energy, but they have refused to reimburse any of the overcharges or waive the early termination fee. This situation has caused me significant financial stress and frustration, as I feel that SFE Energy has engaged in ********* and unfair business practices.

      **** ******* ** * ***** they sign you up under false pretenses. If I could give them zero stars I would. It not fair to tell someone we don’t charge you and then you see your **** bill and you see them charging you and when you want to cancel they tell you the cancellation fee is 400$! I asked the agent multiple time so I have to pay anything and the answer was no! And then I look online and see that multiple people have the same problem. I was told that they just make sure **** gives me a fixed rate and that my price doesn’t go up but my bill was higher than before! Reading the reviews below multiple people have the same problem.

      ******* ** * **** * ****** company with very poor customer service. They phoned stating they could insure price protection with ******** ****. When ******** **** had a glitch in their computer system, SFE Energy tried to collect thousands of dollars for an account we did not cancel. It has taken over a week on the phone with various persons and the issue is still unresolved.       Two "SFE Contractors" came to my door on January 30, 2024 claiming a need to verify my energy rate. They presented identification and asked to see my current **** bill. I showed them. I was told that my rate is not correct and that I am paying too much. In short, they told me that I *WILL* be paying less than I am currently paying by switching me over to a different rate - not company - and made absolutely zero mention that it was as such. They very clearly stated that there is no cancellation fee or penalty, and that it's as simple as calling their customer service number at anytime.
      I attempted to call the provided "customer service number" and there is absolutely no response. I then attempted to call the two "SFE Contractors" using the numbers they provided and the numbers are non-functional. I want out of this "contract" and I want out now.
      But then I got bills three times much expensive than I had before! I have no possibility to pay that bills. I decided to cancel the contract but they said that I have to pay cancellation fee 360$! But I didnt get any information about such a big amount of fee. Their representatives didnt tell me about it even a word! * **** **** * *** *** **** ** *********** ** *** ***** * *** ******** *** **** ** *** ****** They lied to me and now demand from me money!
