Unfortunately they ghosted me. They came and measured for a window replacement back in 2023. I paid a 50% deposit. Then nothing. Ive tried many times to contact them to get resolution. They will get back to me make, excuses, say they will follow up, but they never do (Fortunately it was a small, so the amount I lost is not huge)Initial Complaint

I reached out to Window Medics Ottawa in October asking for a quote to fix my sliding door glass. They were quick to send a representative out the next day to give a quote. They ended up sending us an invoice the same week (attached) and asked us to pay 50% of it as a deposit and that the glass part will be ready within 6-8 weeks, after which a technician will come by and install it. 8 weeks went by and I called them in December. The technician said he couldn't do it due to the holidays and that he will get back to us in January with a date on when he can come. In January we called him (because of course he did not call) and he said he was too busy and at the latest he would come by end of February. We called again after February, sent emails, and text, and there is no response or communication from anyone.I have been waiting since October for this window to be installed and it is now March, I cannot wait any longer. I no longer want their service as they did not complete the service in the timeframe they said they would. Looking on ****** reviews, MANY others are having the same issue and this company seems like a scam.This business should not be allowed to conduct business because it's a scam and I do not want to work with them. After receiving quotes from other companies Window Medics sent a representative to give us a quote on October 24, 2024. ****** ************** showed up, took several measurements and emailed us an invoice. He said on the invoice is the name and number of the person who installs the windows, ***** **************. They requested a deposit before ordering the custom window which I proved via e-transfer. $197.75 the same day on October 24, 2024.We have followed up many times and at first they were returning our calls but now nothing. Last we received from them was a text from ***** in December saying he was busy with a big job but would get to us in January.Initial Complaint

Pay attention on the names, pics and click in their links... false reviews!I will make an official complain, bc the e-transfer used to pay 50% of the invoice was deposit in a ************** so the police can trace them. Window Medics = Scammers!!!!Regarding the ****** reviews: If you click on the link of the names of the positive reviewers (Zahraa Lahwell and **** ***** for example) the location of the reviewers is in the Window Medics address. If the owner answers this review publicly, and reimburses my deposit, I will let you know! ***, owner of the business, please insert in your website, publicly the address of your shop. The address showing on your website: ******* Greenbank is incorrect. I posted my review in ****** and then 2 new false ones come up. OK I just checked... 2 new false ones were posted again some hours ago. The owner answers positive reviews, but he doesn't answer ANY of the negatives. I checked the reviewers, they have zero history of reviews. This company is a SCAM!!! I had exactly the same issue as everybody else in the real reviews. Meaning, the real reviews are only the ones that are one star (for the lack of one negative star). They have been scamming people in Ottawa for more than 2 years now!!!!Initial Complaint

I received an estimate for a window seal from Ottawa Window Medics on Aug 18, 2024. I paid the invoice promptly. I was told that installation would be within 4-6 weeks. After several follow-up calls, an installation date was finally confirmed. On that date I received news that a bigger job had come up and that they would reschedule mine. Despite several phone calls and emails, I heard nothing. I have been asking for a refund since late October. I found another firm who did the work promptly.Initial Complaint

On November 4th we had Window Medics out to measure for a small piece of broken frosted glass in our garage. I was asked to paid $206.23 for the glass and I would pay the rest on completion of the work. I then heard nothing from anyone for over a month. I then chased the company multiple times and didn't hear back. When you call them the people answering the phone state 'they are only an answering service' and will pass along your message. After much chasing from me I was finally contacted and told I need to wait 6 weeks for the glass to be ready. I then texted and called after 6 weeks and heard nothing. I contacted them again and was told ***** was back in Ottawa at the end of the week and would be in touch 'soon'. I have not heard anything back. I contracted Window Medics Ottawa to replace a living room window and paid a 50% deposit ($847.50) on July 18, 2024. Despite dozens of attempts to contact the company and its representatives over a number of months, the work was never completed, and my requests for resolution have been ignored. I contacted this company via their website to request a quote to repair two windows in my home. That same day, I was contacted a short while later by a representative who asked me questions about the work I wanted done and I explained what it was as well as our hope the work could be done as soon as possible so that we could put our home up for sale. The representative asked if they could come by in the late afternoon to take a look and provide an estimate. The representative showed up at the agreed upon time, took a look, provided an estimate, set up an online invoice, and stated that the work could likely happen the following week or the week after at the latest. They requested a deposit of 50% in order to secure an appointment, which was paid in cash. The invoice has been updated to reflect the deposit, a technician assigned, but nobody has contacted us to schedule the appointment. We have contacted the company by phone twice and been told that a message has been left with head office. We have contacted the technician by text and voicemail. The technician told us they were too busy in the first week and would contact us to set something up during the second week. We are now past this deadline, being ghosted, and no appointment has been set.Initial Complaint

In February of 2024, I contacted window medics regarding an issue with a dining room window that was foggy/dirty on the inside. An agent came to take a look and determined they could treat it, rather than replace it. Later, a technician came and did the treatment and said it may take up to 6-8 weeks to improve ($315 paid). Several months later, the window had only become somewhat worse, again I contacted the company and the agent returned, determined the treatment did not work and we would have to replace the window. Under their warranty, the money used for the treatment would now be credited to the new window and I needed to deposit an additional 50% of the remaining purchase price which came to $480. This amount was paid right away. I was told the new window should be received by early September. It is now December, no sign of the window, and like other reviews I have read, no contact can be made with the company to get an update. I do note that the original agent who came to the house does respond by text although he is not responsible for the purchase and install. He assumes the window has not yet been received but he is not certain. I am simply looking to have the work continued/completedCustomer Answer

Hi, thank you for your correspondence and for trying. I made some progress today, I sent them a ,essays this am telling them I was going to contact the police and report this as fraud. This afternoon I received a phone call from someone named ***** from the company. He said they had a major contract that preoccupied them through the fall and he is now starting to get the rest of the business back in order. He promised to come by tomorrow to re-measure the window and verify the work and said they will be done by the end of the month. Ok, so far so good, technician came today, re-measured the window and said the pane should be received by Jan 22 or Jan 29 and should be installed by end of month. I will let you know how it goes. He reiterated the story from yesterday, said he was put on a job that was su-posed to take three weeks and it took three months, showed me pictures etc. thanks again. A
