Absolutely horrible! The customer service is less to be desired! You spend hours in a chat that gets you no where! You can't actually TALK to a person, they have no phone numbers listed so you can talk to support! It's taken them 8 days so far to fix my issues and it's still NOT DONE! I will be looking for another service! DO NOT USE THEM!!!Shopify Inc.

Hi *****,My name is **** an Operations Lead at Shopify. Thank you for sharing your feedback in regards to your experience with our support channels. Currently, our most effective methods for providing assistance are through live chats and emails, which give you direct access to resources and our escalated support teams. Regarding your account, I was unable to locate a ticket associated with your email address during my review. Could you please provide me with a ticket number? Company charged me before billing date and refused to refund me that two withdrawals after I cancelled my account. The representative refused to make it right because they dont offer refunds per their terms of service. This is bad faith business that changes the withdrawal date and doesnt provide a refund after they change the date of billing without notice or consent.Shopify Inc.

Hello ******,***** here, an Operations Lead at Shopify.Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding your billing process. Please note that we are unable to amend the billing date displayed in the system to a specific day. Merchant subscription plans are billed every 30 days, resulting in variable due dates each month. These due dates are available for review within the Shopify ******** addition to the monthly subscription billing, Shopify issues bills throughout the month based on your plan's billing threshold. This threshold is a dollar amount that, once exceeded by your account activity, triggers a bill. You will receive a bill whenever the combined total of your third-party transaction fees and any other outstanding charges surpasses your account's threshold. While monthly subscription fees contribute to your overall running total, they are not included in threshold bills. For further information and clarification on billing, please refer to the following help document: *******************************************************************************************************. Shopify who owns Shop Pay unscrupulously gathers ALL of your personal data including credit card # and creates an account in your name. The only way to delete the account is they force you to sign up for an account and then delete it and even then it's still not deleted. THIS IS EXTREMELY SHADY AND UNETHICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Shopify Inc.

Hi, *****.This is ****** and I am a Support Lead here at Shopify. While we cant provide direct support via BBB reviews, I can provide you with some information to help you with this.Shop Pay is an optional and voluntary opt-in service; buyers who would like a faster checkout experience while shopping online choose to opt in by selecting a checkbox during checkout on a store that uses this feature. You can see more about this on the help page linked below:******************************************************************** If youd like to opt out of it, you can follow the directions for doing so by filling in the Shop Pay opt-out form and tapping or clicking Submit Request. Ive left a link to that form just below:********************************* You can also read more about the opt-out process at this link:************************************************************************ Best,****** C | Support LeadReview fromL. Absolutely the largest fraudulent company I have ever dealt with. They take my money month after month although I have never even set up the shop and utilized the services. I cannot login to the account because it requires an Authenticator app that I never set up nor do I have access to. I have sent 10+ emails with no response. They dont have a phone number to call and to reach a live support advisor on the chat, you have to login to your account which I am unable to do. So I am just continually paying a monthly fee for a service I do not use and no way to reach anyone to cancel it. This is exactly where they want you. *** terms of service say no refunds for subscription fees so they will refuse to give me my money after scamming me into being stuck paying it. This should be illegal and probably is just needs the right lawyer to catch wind and start the proceedings.Shopify Inc.

I have replied to emails, emailed support directly, and attempted to use the chat function that youre referring to but as I stated previously it prompts me to login which I am unable to do. I go to fill out the contact form, it prompts me to choose the store I am referring to and then directs me to a login page. Having a company that makes millions but not having telephone support is egregious. Someone needs to contact me immediately.Review fromVincent L

1 starI tried out the one dollar trial to get a feel for the service since I heard it's pretty popular. However, in order to do so, it requires you to sign up for a full subscription that doesn't take affect until after the trial period. This on it's okay on it's own if you only intend to pay for the first month to try it out and are not ready to commit, like I was. If you cancel the subscription at any point, it immediately closes the shop so you cannot even view it anymore shutting you out from everything. So I was forced to hold on to the subscription until the end of the month to use it, AND THEN they billed my account earlier than they claimed they would bill me. On top of that, they pinned on an extra service that I've never used.Long story short, I got charged $100 for services that I never used and customer service was unable to help whatsoever. I was planning on returning to Shopify in the future for my web store services, but this experience utterly ruined it for me with this company's absolutely predatory billing policies. It seems like many other people have had similar issues with the billing process. If you're a small business owner looking to even just "try out" shopify, I recommend you stay away. Shopify is a terrible company. I have tried and tried to get my money (they froze my account), and they will not give it to me, stating that my EIN is incorrect, but somehow, the *** accepts it. They have "escalated" the case, but that was in August, and I haven't heard anything from them. They keep charging my account after I have spoken with multiple people to cancel the account. They won't do it. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL DESTROY YOUR BUSINESS.Shopify Inc.

Hello ******, This is ****** and Im a Support Lead here at Shopify. It sounds like you are experiencing some barriers when it comes to receiving your payouts due to your EIN. I have done this. The issues Im experiencing have nothing to do with me. I pay the government and they know who I am. All of the other vendors have no issue with my EIN but apparently Shopify does. I have repeatedly contacted Shopify only to be told they will get to it when they can. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY TERRIBLE.Review fromJ. R.

They ignore timely free trial cancellations and steal your money. Even after they send you an email telling you, you will not be charged. A lawyer looking to make a killing could even have a class action on his hands. I live in ******* and was scammed by false promises. Luckily, I was able to cancel my CC to stop them from taking my money illegally, but I have not legal recourse from here.Shopify Inc.

Hi ****, ?This is ****** and I am a Support Lead here at Shopify. I recognize that receiving a charge you werent expecting can be startling and appreciate you reaching out. To begin, since Better Business Bureau (BBB) reviews are public and we have strict standards around merchant privacy of information, Im limited in how I can assist here. However, I can provide some information and context that will help you with next steps.Generally speaking, when a merchant receives charges after believing their store has been canceled, it is due to one of two reasons: either the store was not fully closed, or there is an additional store that was established around the same time that may have been overlooked. It is important to note that our system cannot continue invoicing for a closed store. The first thing to do is to utilize our store recovery tool. By entering any email addresses you might have used, you will receive an email listing all stores registered to that address. This will allow you to determine whether these stores are active and still generating charges. You can access the recovery tool here: *******************************************************, If youre still unable to log in, or cant determine where the charges are coming from, then the best next step is to reach out to our Support team through this link: **************************************. Contacting Support to ensure that everything is fully canceled is the most effective way to prevent further charges. When you reach out, please mention that you are unable to log in to find the source of the charges, and our team will be able to assist you. In situations where someone is being billed but cannot verify ownership of the store, further details regarding the payment method may be required to address the issue. The owner of the payment method has the right to request its removal, effectively stopping any recurring charges. Thank you,****** | Support LeadJ. R.

Hi. I had a single store. I received an email from Shopify that I closed the account several days before the end of the free trial, and was STILL billed, not once but twice. I canceled the credit card used to secure the free trial. To me thats fraud, when you confirm that I closed my account and halted all business with your company, and yet you STILL attempt to take my money. Im not going to waste my time signing back up again to again, get stuck cancelling another credit card. Thousands of people like me common gain online about this shady business practice. If you cant keep your accounts straight, Im hardly likely to desire doing business with Shopify ever again. Good luck with your negative BBB reviews. I stand by my comments. I have factual evidence that I did everything correctly. Typical abuser behavior to blame the victim!Review fromKEVYN B

Finally worked out how to deactivate my Shopify store, and the next month was still charged the fee. Do not use this site. If you ever have used this site check your accounts, and make sure they don't still have your information. **************** (two separate employees two separate times, meaning it's part of their training and and textbook response.) tried to gaslight me into beleiving the charge was for a store purchase because it 'wasn't showing on their end' but I showed them the same exact $ amount the same exact day for months (with no additional Shopify labeled charges) proving it was the account charge. Sheisty behavior. Do NOT.Shopify Inc.

Hi, Zz.This is ****** and I am a Support Lead here at Shopify. Since BBB reviews are public and we have strict standards around merchant privacy of information, well be limited in how we can assist here. However, I can provide some information and context that should help you move forward when you contact Shopify Support.Usually, when someone continues to be billed when theyre sure they canceled their store, one of two things has occurred. Either the store wasnt fully closed, or there was another store set up around the same time that the aspiring merchant forgot about. In either case, we have some tools to help and our Support Advisors will be able to guide you in getting the charges stopped and requesting a refund. The first thing to do is enter any email addresses you might have used into our store recovery tool. This will send a list of all stores registered to that address to that email, and from there you should be able to log in and see if theyre closed or still active (and therefore billing). The recovery tool is located here: ******************************************************* If youre still unable to log in, or cant determine where the charges are coming from, please get in touch with our Support. It isnt possible for the system to continue invoicing on a closed store, so getting in touch with our Support to make sure everything is fully canceled will be your best course of action to prevent future charges. Be sure to detail that you cant log in to locate where the charges are coming from, and theyll be able to help. In cases where someone is being charged but cant prove ownership of the store to get access and close it, theyll be asked for some details about the payment method charged instead. The owner of a payment method has the right to ask it be removed from a store, which also works to stop charges.Regarding the removal of your info from our site, once youve worked with Support to sort out the billing issue, you can submit a request to have your information removed under the Personal, Confidential, and Protected Health Information category at the link below:************************************************************* Best,****** C | Support LeadReview fromJoshua P

1 starIts impossible to cancel your account have been trying to figure out how to stop them from charging my account for almost 3 months. But every instructional website including shopifys official site say to click settings in the left menu but there is no Settings button. Most places in their instructions link you directly where you need to go to cancel or make it easy to find if they are a legitimate business but I am about to file a claim with my bank for fraudulent charges if support doesn't get back to me in the next few days.Review fromRyan G
