      In may 2023 , I contacted appliance repair expert in Guelph for repairing my washing machine and dryer. An appointment was booked for diagnosing the problem (i dont remember the exact date) at 9 am in the morning as I had to go out of my house by 10am for work. They said they will be there by 9am. I waited on the specified day till 10:30am. No one showed up. I even called them continously but no one answered. I got a call at 11am saying that they are coming. I told them that I have left the house and I waited for them for 1:30hr. There was no apology and the person was very rude. he said "do you dont want us to come" and i said yes as I had already left the house. So they did not come and no service was provided.
      After few months, I got a call from collection agency saying that I owed money to this company. **** * ********* *** ********** *** **** **** **** **** **** *** ******* ******** **** ***** ****** **** ***** **** ******** she said that she will close the file and I dont have to pay anything. After that there was no correspondence.
      During this whole time the company did not even contact me once and did not even send me any invoice.
      In may 2024, I got an email from ***** ********** that they tried to contact me on several occasions and since I did not respond they are sending me this email. I replied back and explained the whole situation to them. But they did not care about the explanation. I even called and left numerous voice mails but no response. On further pressing the issue, they sent me an invoice which talk about diagnosing the problem. I again explained them the situation but they still did not care.
      I got an email again today saying that they will report me to the credit bureau if I dont pay.
      When no service was given, when they did not keep the appointment time, how can they expext me to pay. This is outright *********. I will really appreciate if you can resolve this issue otherwise I will take legal action against the company.

      Thought I did my research Terrible,
      June 13th/24 Emin was the technician. Paid $101 for diagnostic, he left our stove disconnected and said he would call next day and order the part. June 17th24- 4 days later, we initiated a call to Appliance Repair Expert for an update. Calls were dropped, no answer. June 19th/24 The technician showed up without notice, replaced the part and left, we paid him $422.62. Within minutes after he left, our stove broke down. After several unanswered calls on June20th/24- Emin the Technician contacted us, and said the stove worked when he left, we have a choice to replace more parts and he is willing to drop by and rediagnos the problem..This company. Is * ***** unprofessional, and dishonest. Very defensive, when they eventually respond. Does not provide discounts as advertised.

      A service call was scheduled and canceled. No repair service provided attended my residence at any time. Weeks/months after they called and said I did not cancel within their window and were charging me $100. I said they could send it but I disagree that I had to pay. They did not ever send me an invoice, physical or digital. The next thing I know I am contacted by a collection agency. When I disputed the charge they took it away and never contacted me again. Months later it went to another agency, after many attempts to contact the agency, the only reply I received was a blank reply with an invoice attached (one that was clearly just made as it was never sent to me). I have paid the debt to protect my credit but this a ********** misuse of this process and I have no way of disputing it. They have no contact with me, nothing that I signed as I canceled the appointment in advance.

      The technician came last monday June 10th and advise they will order part that a payment is required to do so. ever since payment done the company is not responding even when call advise will talk to technician and get back never did. They have not provided an update if work will be finished. I can't use my dryer if they are not fixing it I need to get it done by another company soon as possible. The calls get disconnected tried calling these numbers **********************

      I am writing to formally raise a complaint against the company Appliance Repair Expert, located at **** ****** * *****, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 5X, ***** ********. My attempt to resolve this matter directly with the company has been unsuccessful, they have failed to contact me in over a year to resolve this matter, hence my decision to seek assistance from the Better Business Bureau.

      On December 16, 2022, I contacted Appliance Repair Expert to schedule an appointment to repair my dishwasher. A representative assisted me in booking an appointment for the same day.
      However, realizing the appointed time would not work, I promptly called back between 12:00 and
      12:30 pm, providing over three hours' notice, as per their cancellation policy.

      To my surprise, the representative informed me of a same-day cancellation policy, not mentioned on their website, resulting in a charge for the appointment. Despite explaining the discrepancy and seeking resolution, the representative was dismissive and terminated the call.

      Subsequently, I received no further communication from Saskatoon Appliance Expert until February 6, 2023, when ******** **** *** ****** contacted me regarding an alleged outstanding payment. My husband emailed the manager of Saskatoon Appliance Expert to resolve the issue, but we received no response. ******** **** *** ****** later confirmed closure of my file on February 7, 2023, due to lack of invoice/ proof of work provided by Saskatoon Appliance Expert.

      I thought that the matter had been resolved. However, on May 14, 2024, ***** ********** ************* notified me of the purported debt once again. Despite attempts to contact the manager, Andrew S. and seeking resolution, no response has been received to date.

      I am seeking the Better Business Bureau's assistance to resolve this matter. I request contact from Saskatoon Appliance Expert to adjust the erroneous charge, and correct any negative impact on my credit score resulting from this matter.

      In April 2024 we called about a loudly squealing dryer. We told them it was old, but still wanted to have them diagnose the issue. Once the diagnosis was done, we were give the option to repair the problem, which we agreed to. Parts were ordered and upon completion of the repair we were told there was no warranty, and we were not issued a receipt. A couple of days after the repair, the dryer started squealing again. We contacted Appliance Repair Experts and spoke with the manager, who read the service notes to us, indicating that the inside of the dryer was 'sketchy'. We were not told the state of the dryer when diagnosed, which would have changed our decision to repair. The manager said he would investigate and contact me, but that did not happen. I sent in an email complaint, and still no response. If we had known the state of the dryer before the repair, we would have declined the repair and simply bought a new dryer, which we ended up doing anyway because the old dryer was likely unrepairable. * ** ***** ** ******* *** ******* **** ** ****** **** ******** * **** *** ** ***** ******** **** **** ****** *** **** * ** ************ **** ** ****** *****

      I went to the website to book a repair for a small ********** refrigerator in June 2023. The repairman came and diagnosed the unit as needing a new compressor. I paid him $980 for the new compressor, visit and repair, and he never returned. I emailed the business on July 17th asking for the contact information for the technician. No reply. I finally reached someone on the phone, and they said they would contact the tech. He did not get in touch, so I emailed again on Aug. 2. Again, did not get a reply. After many disconnected calls, in September I reached someone, who gave me the technician's phone number. Since Sept. 29, I have texted him nine times and called him once. He repeated says he will come and does not come. Today I tried again to call the business to get a refund. Every call is disconnected. * ******* *** **** ** *** ******** *** ******* *** **** ** * **** **** **** ** **** ** *********** **** **** ***** I am happy to answer any specific questions you have. I am not interested in repair with this business. Thank you very much!

      I called this company regarding service for my washing machine. I said at the time that I would call back because I needed to confirm my schedule at work. I cancelled the appointment and was told that there was a cancellation fee that would be waived ONLY if I provided a 5 star google review. For a service that never happened.

      I refused, and the agent then threatened to send my contact details to a collection agency.
      Then I received 4 phone calls, 2 emails and three text messages (I saved them all), asking me to contact them for a “special offer” to resolve my issue.

      Today - I received an invoice for $100 for a service call that never occurred.

      To resolve this issue, I would like a formal acknowledgement that no service occurred and I do not owe them any money at all.

      When I booked the appointment they told me that I had to pay for the service call but if I went ahead with the repair, the service call fee would be waived. I asked, "What if you don't have a solution to my problem?" The guy said, "Don't worry — we always do."

      The technician came and inspected my dryer and said we simply had to order a new part. He gave me a reason as to why I needed to pay for the part in advance. **** ******** ****** **** **** * *** **** *** I paid for the service and the part.

      When I didn't hear back from the technician within the timeline he had promised, I tried contacting the company but wasn't able to get through to them. My call wouldn't go through or I would get hung up on after telling them my issue. So I disputed the credit card charge with ****.

      Finally, I got through to someone at the company who gave me the technician's number. His name is DALLAS K. He was responsive at first and updated me on the status of the part which he said was coming. He later became aware of the dispute claim and I told him I would cancel it now that I had gotten a hold of him which I did.

      Eventually, it was determined that they no longer manufacture the part I need. Dallas told me he was unable to refund me for the service call but he would refund me for the part out of his own pocket (for some reason).

      He was responsive at first but kept delaying the time when he would issue the refund **** ********* ******** I've now attempted to contact him 6 times over the course of the past month and he is completely ghosting me.

      To make matters worse, **** can only investigate a charge ONE TIME so they refuse to re-open my case disputing this charge.

      On December 28, 2023, we reached out to Appliance Repair Experts to address an issue with our refrigerator. They charged us a deposit for a part, and have since completely stopped communicating with us. We have tried emailing and reaching out to the specific technician, but no response. We have since fully replaced the refrigerator and seek full reimbursement of the deposit.
