    - Around May 20th, 2025, I contacted A Appliance Repair team regarding issues with my microwave range. I subsequently made an appointment for the microwave repair and was advised that it would be $80 for the service call and for them to come and assess the issue.- May 21st the repair guy came and said the charge was $180 plus tax, (higher than what was quoted over the phone) plus the cost to repair the door was $572.67, total amount with taxes would be $850.51 - Already being out of $180 plus, and needing the microwave range repaired as soon as possible, an e-transfer was done for $591.27. The repairman left with the microwave and advised he would purchase the part and return within 3-5 days to reinstall. - Over time, for the next 20 days, we kept calling for updates and was advised that the microwave was in the repair lab. None of the customer service **** would provide a decisive response on the status of the repair.- Today June 18th, and after many disgruntled conversations, I called again and they advised that they will return the microwave on the coming Wednesday. They could not get the part and the microwave has not been fixed. I asked for a full refund and was told that the accounting personnel will call by end of day. It's after 5pm and still no call.- On a previous conversation they agreed to a partial minimal refund which I declined as they were charging a fee for their lab to work on the microwave even though they have not fixed it.Due to the microwave not being repaired, poor customer service, lies and weeks of delay, I'm asking for a full refund of the payment of $591.27

We agreed for a fee of $80.00 that your technician Ash would visit us on 29th May to determine the problem with our ******* microwave oven. He stayed about 10 minutes. He immediately said it was the door latch assembly and the body latch assembly which were faulty. He did not unscrew anything to take a look and make sure. He was confident these were the problem. He said the 2 parts would cost $270 and the labor to do the job would be $290. He gave me an invoice to that effect and said I had to pay part of the invoice namely $480.25 by debit card ***** was not accepted). He would return to install the parts when they would arrive. This would be about 3-5 working days. He also said this was much cheaper than buying and installing a new microwave so we should go ahead with the repair. He came back on 3rd June to install the parts. When he took the frame off the door to install the door latch he found a broken piece of plastic inside and he said he could not fix it as it was part of the door frame and it would cost more to order this part than to get a new microwave oven. He said we get a refund for the parts but not the labor. He suggested we buy a new microwave. Then he left. My issue is that he did not do a thorough assessment on his initial visit to determine the actual problem and save all the subsequent costs associated with his assumption of what the problem was. When we approached the company for a refund of parts and labor they said the total invoice was $672.46 and they would refund only $81.80.We discussed it with them as we thought this was unreasonable. We also discovered that they grossly overcharged for the parts. They charged $152.55 for each one ($305.10 total) and we found the parts on *******'s website for $55.34 and $16.29 respectively. We are asking for a refund less the $80 assessment fee we agreed to. We think this is fair due to the incorrect assumptive diagnosis of the problem.

Incident December 3, 2024 Our ice machine stopped working, was making a strange water flowing noise and was beeping. I called The A Team Appliance Repair, to come fix it (first number that came up on ******). They they have an $80 fee for the technician to diagnose the problem. The man came, spent less than 10 minutes resetting the machine only and told me it cost $360 to repair it. He told me it had a 90 day warranty on labour, and would be more for parts if needed. I ignorantly signed for him to fix it. All he did was press a botton to reset it. He did not take the invoice out of the folder, nor gave me time to read anything. He asked for the cheque. He then appeared to further fill out the invoice, ripped it out of the folder, and left it on the counter. I sadly trusted his word and just put the invoice on my office table, to be looked at the next day when I would have time to file it. I went back to attend to a customer who was waiting.. A couple of hours later the ice machine began to beep again and it stopped working. I had left the restaurant and one of my employees called me to tell me what had happened. I called the company back the next day to see if they could come back and fix it. When I looked at the invoice to get the number I saw that the technician had written in the parts section the word "compressor" and the price for a new one. He never mentioned anything about the compressor, as I knew it could not have been, as it has a completely different sound ( I have had to fix a compressor before in our walk-in cooler). There was an intermittent water flow sound. I called the company to explain the situation. The women on the phone began arguing with me that it was a compressor issue and that if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for a new compressor and the labour for it over $2000. I knew then I was being scammed and I cancelled the cheque. They called me and said if I didn.t pay they would ruin my credit. I just got a letter from Collections.

Saturday May 17, the freezer in our fridge/freezer stopped working so we called The A Team Appliance Repair to see if they could come diagnose the problem. They advised that it would be an $80 fee for the initial visit, which would be refunded if we decided to go ahead with their company for repair. They came that evening to have a look at the freezer (and our dishwasher) and their technician, *** advised that they had absolutely no idea what could possibly be wrong with the fridge until we paid for them to service it. We were hesitant because we know that sometimes the parts can add up to more than a brand new fridge. He couldn't provide any sort of ball park price around what the parts would cost, even though he said he was in the business for 6 years and so we agreed to have him proceed with labour which, we had to pay $600 upfront for (only debit or cash). A few minutes later, he said we needed a new compressor which he said was $1400. They sent a compressor technician 2 days later who replaced the compressor and now our fridge makes a loud buzzing noise that it never made before. We complained to them and they said it is normal. They offered to send the same technician back to our house 3 days after he told us the loud buzzing is normal. Since we were going away the day after the initial visit, we had to make a quick decision to resolve the issue. He told us that once the compressor was replaced, the fridge would be as good as new since that is the main component. Now we have had time to consult with other appliance contactors who said the price we paid is astronomical and the buzzing is not normal

On February 25, 2025, I scheduled a repair with A Team Appliance Repair for my dryer, which was making grinding noises. My partner, ******, was home during the visit. The technician arrived around 3:50 p.m., diagnosed the issue within 10 minutes, and claimed the pulleys were warped due to overloading (despite the dryer being high-capacity). He quoted $290 plus tax. He then disassembled the machine, spent about 10 minutes working on it, and declared it fixed.Afterward, the technician presented ****** with an invoicenow totaling $691.39, more than double the quote. ****** signed it, and we agreed to send an e-transfer. However, the technician left before the payment was sent. ****** tested the dryer immediately after and found it still wasnt working. Payment was withheld. We contacted customer service right away and were told no return service would be provided unless the full invoice was paid first. I refused. They then stated they would send my account to collections, which would affect my credit. I told them at that point that I was going to report them.I then hired CN Appliance Repair, a reputable company, who identified and fixed additional issues caused by the first *********** Their invoice was $550, which I paid (receipt attached). The dryer is now fully functional. On May 21, 2025, I received a threatening email from A Team Appliance Repair demanding $691.39 for a "washer" (it was a dryer), warning of legal action and collections if not paid within 14 days. That letter is attached.I have since learned this company has multiple complaints against it, including a ******** group dedicated to people whove had similar experiences. This is clearly a predatory business that takes advantage of customers.

This company is not legit - replaced a part I cant even be sure was needed and and after 3 service calls my dryer not fixed. Apparently the tech knew it would not work after the last visit as they told me to just re-start the power panel, however when I called back to complain that nothing has been fixed, apparently on my file, I need another $900 part. Absolutely shameful - they are scamming people as seen on trustpolit with similar experiences. Just terrible these people are able to continue scamming Canadians out of money like this. Please DO SOMETHING!

Fraudulent services were provided on May 21st, 2025. Our refrigerator died and we contacted this company to come and fix the issue. The technician advised that he could fix the appliance to run for multiple more months. He did advise that a new part would be required eventually but explicitly stated that the service would fix the fridge for months to come and charged us $430.

To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally file a complaint against A Team Appliance Repair regarding an unethical and harassing experience I recently had with their service.I initially scheduled an appointment with A Team Appliance Repair on May 6th, 2025, and during the call, I was told that I would receive a phone call prior to the technicians arrival in case the scheduled time did not work. However, after researching the company online and discovering multiple complaints and scam allegations, I decided to cancel the appointment. When the technician called me once before arriving, I clearly stated that I wished to cancel the appointment and asked him not to come.Despite this, the technician falsely claimed to have made multiple calls to me and stated he had arrived at my home, without notifying me as previously agreed. No service was performed. I did not sign any service agreement or cancellation policy with the company. Two days later, I received a threatening call from the company demanding a $90 service fee for a service that was never provided. They warned that if I did not pay immediately, I would be reported to a collection agency, and my credit score would be affected. Additionally, the woman on the phone falsely claimed to be a lawyer and attempted to intimidate me with legal threats. This behavior is not only unethical but also appears to be a deceptive practice designed to exploit consumers. I feel harassed and misled, and I refuse to pay for a service that was canceled and never rendered.I request that this matter be formally investigated and that A Team Appliance Repair cease all further communication or threats regarding this baseless charge. I am also requesting a written confirmation that no collection action will be taken and that my credit file will remain unaffected.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,*****

Business Name: The A Team Appliance Repair Service Date: April 27, 2025 Amount Paid: $665.01 CAD (tax included)I booked a dishwasher repair with The A Team Appliance Repair after being told the initial inspection would be $80 . When the technician arrived, he looked at the dishwasher for a few minutes, claimed the spray arm and heating circuit needed replacing, and presented an invoice for $665.01. He assured me this covered all parts, labour, installation, and warranty, and that repairs would be completed within 5 business days. Although the cost exceeded the value of my dishwasher, I agreed based on the urgency and promise of quick ************* has now been 15 days and nothing has been repaired. Ive contacted the company five timesthey never followed up proactively. I was finally told a missing part would arrive May 19 and they could book same-day service. I later discovered hundreds of victims online reporting similar stories, which suggests a clear pattern of deceptive practices.I asked to cancel and get a refund. I was told:$200 is a non-refundable labour fee (despite the technician doing no repair and staying less than 10 minutes),15% restocking fee on parts I never received,Plus $30 for shipping. This contradicts what both customer service and the technician saidthat everything was included in the $665.01. I am not a technician and relied solely on what their representative told me. Its unclear whether the ordered parts would even fix the problem. After the fact, I learned this company has hundreds of similar complaints, including 608 one-star reviews on Yelp and a feature by CityNews highlighting their predatory behaviour.I am asking the Better Business Bureau to help resolve this. I am requesting a full refund of $665.01, as no repairs were made, and the service was misrepresented from the start.
