Dear **** Ujulu *****,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand the frustration and concern that can arise in situations like this, and we want to assure you that we take your complaint seriously.
To provide some context, your account was originally enrolled with the original merchant company, morConnect Inc, in December 2021, and since then, Carbon Less has taken over management of the account. Unfortunately, due to nonpayment, your account has been placed in collections.
At this point, we advise that you continue working directly with the collections team to settle the outstanding balance. They are the appropriate point of contact to assist with payment arrangements or any further questions you may have.
We deeply value your business and are committed to helping resolve this matter as smoothly as possible. Should you need any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at *************************************** or the collections team directly.
Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns.Sincerely,
Shay

Students forced us to sign a contract in urgency saying that it will give us rebate on enbridge bill. They said enbridge is cheating us and charging 60$ plus and we should only be charged 29$ per month on total gas. They confirmed that and asked us to follow their instructions to repeat on recorded line. Now I get a bill of 500 plus dollars. This needs to be fixedInitial Complaint

A girl knocks at my apt door claiming to be from my ************** mentioning they were going to offset an amount for hydro bill monthly for $33.84 for next 5 years and requires my bank info to receive one time refund $25 for the previous month's high bill. She insisted everyone in the building was getting this done and they are now connected with our current hydro company. I was made to sign a form stating all this information. Despite of telling ************ of times that my Fianc pays the bill and she should be taking to her. I was told everything would remain same, the bill would be deducted from his bank only and I will only receive a refund. Giving into the moment I provided my direct deposit info and signed the form, later realized I was scammed by this company named "MorConnect" as they started charging me amounts on my card and we were also being charged our regular hydro bill. Tried contacting them but all their numbers were wrong numbers. I closed my bank account to avoid any further deduction of money. On 1st May 2023, I receive a mail from a company "******************************" asking $101.84 which is again a fraud company as when I mentioned I had been scammed by this company, they never reverted back. I called Equifax to check whether I had collections on my account and there was none. An alert was mentioned on my file to prevent any further fraud. Now on 16th July 2023, I received another collections letter from this fraud company for 5 times the previous amount $540.04. On 6th sept, I receive another collections letter.I have been receiving these mails by another fraud company harassing me to pay the amount or else an action will be taken and reported to equifax. They made me sign the contract and keep on asking me for money. I never used their services to pay them any amount. Please help me from receiving endless collection letters for another scam company. Police report # WW23002541Customer Answer

I'd like to report Morconnect Inc forged my signature to sign a carbon offsets contract and auto withdrawing money monthly from my bank account against my wish.
[ Oct 14, 2022 ]
Two people knocked on my door and claimed they have a deal for our condo that if I signed the contract, we can have a set monthly ******** bill for $19.99 plus rebate from previous months. They asked me to read my information and direct deposit account number for them to write down for the rebate. They said there are not extra payment involved.
After providing the information, I received a call from Morconnect to confirm my information while the salespersons are still at my home, and they told me to put on speaker. While the person talking on the phone with very fast speed that purposely made me not understand, the salesperson then muted my phone without my consent and said she will explain each question in easier words for me. After that, the salesperson kept muting my phone while the girl on the phone was talking and said "she is asking if you agree to let us send the rebate to the bank account you provided. Just answer yes". After the phone call, they left right away without giving me any contract, business card or paper.
[Nov 1, 2022]
They started to auto withdraw $33.84 every month from my bank account, so I had my bank to reject to payment
[Feb, 2023]
I recieved a letter from Collection and said I owe MorConnect Inc $59.90.
[Mar, 2023]
I then contacted Morconnect and asked for the contract. But the entire document was someone else's handwriting with a fake signature on it. They forged my signature to sign on the contract, which I believe is illegal in Canada!
I'd like Morconnect to cancel my contract without penalty fee, and also withdraw the $59.90 payment from the collection. My agreement is #******** and salesperson is ******.Initial Complaint

Two individuals came to my apartment building saying they were from a corporation who makes sure we are paying the right amount for our utilities (i.e., heating and water). When I said how much I pay for utilities they said I am granted a return since I am paying too much for my specific. They then asked me to fill out some forms where I gave them my signature and my banking information. They told me I would receive my return in a few weeks. They also gave me a contact number that never worked and I could not get ahold of this company personally. Once I realized it was a scam I contacted my landlord to tell them what these people were doing and she said she had contacted the police but they were already gone. I put a hold on my banking information right away and on October 1st I changed my credit card. I have now been contacted by the Collection Group of Canada Inc. saying I owe Morconnect Inc. a total of $59.90. This company has provided me with zero products or services and tried scamming me out of a lot of money. They now have a collection agency coming after me for this money and affecting my credit score. I would like for this debt to be cleared and for them to let me know they will no longer be bothering me.Initial Complaint

On May 5, 2022, a MorConnect Inc. representative approached my home advertising a ‘****** offset rebate program’ and a complete ****** Nest home security system upgrade free of charge. I have reason to believe that MorConnect Inc did not follow the rules set out in the Consumer Protection Act in Ontario. I was issued to pay a total of 8092 CAD and a lien was placed on my home. On January 18 2023, I sent an official consumer complaint to the company and was not helped. This company has violated mine and many others’ consumer rights and did not follow the guidelines outlined by the ******* ****** *****. It is evident that they are targeting immigrants, elderly, and disabled people.Customer Answer

Last year July 19, 2022. Two guys and one of them named ***** knocked on my apartment door. He claimed to be an employee from ******* Hydro, told me that we were overcharged for our electric bill, asked me if he could check my billing information from ******* Hydro. Because this is the first time I rented my own apartment, I believed that they were from ******* Hydro. I gave them my billing information, he wrote down my account number on a form and told me I was approved of a 25 dollar rebate from ******* Hydro. He reassured me it was just a refund. That's totally free. No charge. He also asked for my bank account info. He said that I needed to sign the form where He wrote all down the information without me reading it. This Nav also had another supposed representative that called my number. Then he made me say Yes to the question from the other line that I agreed to have a rebate. Before leaving, he told me that he will mail me a copy of the form/agreement that I signed with all the information about the rebate but I never receive any until last March 2,2023 when they response from my complaint when I called the customer service. I tried to call and texted Nav phone number 289-802-5320 to cancel whatever I signed in that form but never answered me back on that very same day of July 19,2022. And the number that called me appeared to be from MorConnect.I closed my bank account right away after that. Then now I received a letter from Collection group of Canada telling me I have debt of 149.75 dollars from MorConnect for carbon offset that I never purchased and threatening me to report it to Credit reporting companies if I don't pay it. There are no circumstances on my end that I actually buy or require service since I live in a rental apartment building. Please help me cancel the agreement that they made me signed without me knowing I was stocked in 60month term and need to pay $33.84 dollar a month. They lied and mispresented themselves to a naïve like me.Thank uCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I have explained in full from the start till today as to what had happened and how. They lied, cheated and mispresented themselves as from ******* Hydro to help me lower my bill by giving me a rebate monthly into my account. They said multiple times its free and no charged at all. I was left no papers or contracts from the salesperson. I only received the form/agreement from them last March 2,2023 when they responded to my complaint. The scammed happen last July 19,2022.If I genuinely sign this carbon offset program, why they didn't left no copy for me. And there are no circumstances on my end to actually buy any of their services including the carbon offset that I am not aware what's that for because I live in a rental apartment. They didn't even put any appliance or anything for this stupid carbon offsetting program so how they are claiming that I got service from them. And now they don't want to cancel the agreement if I don't pay $400 plus hst cancellation fee and threatening that they already forward it to Collection. I am not paying anything to this fraud company. I still want to cancel the agreement without any charges because they are lying. I already filed complaint to Anti-Fraud Centre about it and to Ontario Consumer Protection. Under the Consumer Protection Act. A consumer contract has to include specific information about the goods or services and your rights as a consumer. If it doesn't, I can cancel the contract within a year of entering regardless of its value if the business or salesperson I've signed the form made a false or misleading statement like what they did to me. They lied and cheated on me.

A man came to my door claiming to work for ********. He told me that there was a special program for families that earn less than a certain amount of money annually. The program was supposed to help us by reducing the cost of gas, but instead, I ended up paying an extra $100 every month. When I checked my ******** bill, I saw that ****** ****** *********** Ltd. was listed under the "charges from other companies" section. I called them to cancel the service; however, the person on the phone told me that they were not able to cancel the service, and that someone from cancellations would call me within 48 hours to inform me. I told him that they could call me after 3 pm when he asked my availability. After that they called me before 3 pm not after, and I wasn't able to answer. They left a voice mail, and I realized they were calling from MorConnect. The number belongs to MorConnect, not the company listed on my bill (****** ****** *********** Ltd.). I tried to call the number, but whenever I tried to enter the extension number, it kept repeating the same voice recording, so I couldn't speak to the person who called me from MorConnect. After a couple of days, I called the same number and spoke to a random person and explained the situation. He told me that someone would call me soon, but it has been more than a week, and I haven't received a call. I don't know what to do at this point. I want to cancel this service, but I don't have any papers because the man who came to my door told me that they would send me an email to inform me about everything, but I didn't receive anything. Everything about this company seems sketchy. I want to cancel everything but not sure how to do it. I'm feeling very desperate right now, and I believe that my only option is to seek legal help from a lawyer.Customer Answer

The complaint is about morConnect inc. Their sales representative came to our door on November 7,2022.
We were told that their company helps people not over pay for gas, and that we were be given a $25 refund.
We were also multiple times re assured that there will be no charges or that we are not signing any contracts.
That my Mothers Gas bill info is just needed so they can send us the $25 refund, which we will see on our next bill. The $25 dollar refund was on there, as well as small charges. the following month we were charged $33.84 by them on top of our gas bill. We were wrongfully conned into extra charges by the sales person.
Our Agreement with the company is #ECON2533, Sales person ID AS1009 Samir R.Customer Answer
