I cannot even give GCI one star. *** has been a thorn in my side for quite some time. I am paying for services I am not receiving. It started with changing my plan when they got rid of cable, I had the bundle package for years. I went to the highest level of the internet GCI offered at that time, 250 mbps. I have yet to ever hit that number, we run at about 90 mbps if I'm lucky. I kept track and called GCI numerous times, complaining. They gave me a free month for my troubles, but the problem has never been fixed. There are even notes of me having a service ticket for the problem. Still not resolved. Then I went to paperless billing without my knowledge. When I received a disconnect notice this fall, I called GCI and was told they put me on the paperless plan. I would have to pay $2.99 a month more for a paper bill. I updated my contact info and received a bill through my email. I have called GCI 3 to 4 times since then, letting them know I have not received my bill online. April 29th, I spent over an hour on the phone with customer service and tech support. For some reason, it rejects my email address and username. I cannot get into my account through their website either. I called yesterday requesting to be put back on paper bill and to have the $2.99 waived since they cannot get my monthly bill to me electronically. I was told that it could not be done, that my email was not on file, and I would need to speak with customer service, who then said they would send me to tech support. I asked about the notes from my last call and for the supervisor to read them. The problem was fixed with the call I made in April. When I was transferred to customer service, I was going through everything I did last month. I explained that this is GCI's problem, and when they sent a statement to my email, I would gladly pay it. Nothing yet. I want the service I'm paying for, 250 Mbps, and my bill to be sent monthly without me having to call. Am I asking too much? Apparently so.

In September 2024, I discovered that my GCI account was altered without my consent. My account includes a mobile line and the highest internet speed available due to a building association bundle deal, which provides a significant *********** mid-September, I experienced unbearable internet issues, which I initially attributed to ***'s frequent outages. Later, I received a notification that my bill was overdue for services I never approved to be changed and had not been notified about.I called *** and spoke with multiple representatives, none of whom could explain why my account had been altered. After over an hour of calls during my work hours, I finally spoke with a supervisor who informed me that the changes had been made a month earlier by a collections agent when the account went past due. However, the account had been verified as paid the same night. After spending a significant amount of time on the phone, I expressed to the supervisor that this situation felt unethical and possibly illegal. I was offered compensation in the form of a promotional deal for three months of free internet at the original speed, which I initially appreciated. However, the next day, I had to call again because my internet issues persisted.I spent another hour and a half speaking with various *** representatives, including technical support and customer service. Eventually, another manager informed me that the promotional offer was incorrectly applied and that I would need to speak with the previous supervisor upon their return. Thankfully, my internet was fixed, and things settled *****************, 11/19/2024, I received a call from collections claiming my account is past due again. It is clear that ***'s record-keeping system and interdepartmental communication are severely flawed. Information seems to be locked or inaccessible across departments, leaving representatives unaware of the full situation. This has caused me significant frustration and inconvenience.

Although the call center times and people aren't always the best experience the store agents are always going above and beyond and do whatever they can to meet expectations. Living in ****** there's a lot of things that we deal with that other states don't have to deal with. Overall they do an amazing job.

Not only this service wildly expensive, but they are in breech of their own policies. We are a military family that got orders to *** from ****** to the lower 48. We gave the 2 week notice that they requested, returned equipment without issue, and was given a statement that showed were to be given a refund. Weve been fighting for this refund for over 6 weeks. A supervisor then said shed process the refund and gave us a refund ID. We were told it would take max, 14 business days. One month later and were still fighting with GCI for our refund. They said they see the refund request and have pushed for this to go through, but said we need to wait another 14 business days. *** is a crooked company that capitalizes on the fact that theres really no other options in **.

Awful customer service, someone on their end had switch our business account to PAPERLESS without any authorization from us, we don't even have an online account set up. I called to have it switched back to paper invoice mailed to the address on file and they REFUSED unless the person who is on the account calls AND THEY DONT EVEN WORK HERE ANYMORE. They actively make it difficult to just pay the bill and charge late fees for their mistakes.

High priced Internet compared to prices in for similar services in the lower-48. Speed paid for is not what is received. Internet goes out frequently
