    ProctorU really has to work on their system test (don't say it may not be accurate - fix it!). Prior to the exam, ran a system test - all good. Sit down for my exam and WHAM!******************************************************** DO NOT PROCEED WITH CURRENT MACHINE*************************************************A Technical Security threat has been detected. Okay, what's that? ******* says go to another machine. Well sorry, I don't have a bank of laptops to choose from. Can you tell me the problem? Virus? remote app? Answer: Use another machine.Meanwhile test expires, so I must reschedule. What, you want to retake tomorrow - expedite fee for me!Contact customer service: So it doesn't happen again - if I reinstall Windows from scratch, can you test if that fixed the problem? Answer: Yes.So, I completely reinstall Windows from scratch, installing only chrome and ProctorU plugin. Contact customer service: I have reinstalled, ready to test. Answer: You must use another machine (what about testing it?)After pleading, finally escalated to higher support tier, and remote test does seem to work. We'll see.I would gladly have driven somewhere to take the exam, or any other remote service. The exam cannot possibly be as hard as this process.With all the multi-media sharing apps (Zoom, Chrome Remote Desktop, Team Viewer), there is no reason this process is so bad.

    If I could give less then one star I would, ABSOLUTELY most horrible experience ever. I have a newer Imac computer that passed all of procturu benchmarks. Day of exam they never connected to my computer. I did online chat not once but twice only to be told everything was fine and have nice day, when they finally responded. Still waited no exam to be seen. I called 800 number to get more help and finally online ******* AND phone support had to work for 45 MINUTES to get test to comeup on my screen !!!!Did I mention that I have newer I mac computer that passed all proctor u benchmarks!!!!!I cannot say enough bad about proctor U .I will be posting on social media as well Definitely will do in person classroom for ANYTHING from now on.Did I mention that I am a retired licensed pharmacist only helping in church kitchen, and ******* had me take a VIDEO OF my shoes and underneath my keyboard to see if i was cheating besides the video of entire room and floor. State of ******** and patients trusted me with there life but proctor U wanted video of my shoes and bottom of keyboard. The test is multiple choice you dont even touch keyboard let alone turn it upside down !!NEVER AGAIN

    Terrible experience! I tried to take the School Leaders exam this morning, and it was a nightmare! I couldnt get connected to a *******. I called to get help multiple times and would be told restart your computer or just wait and call back. It was so frustrating because no one was being helpful!! Finally I expressed my frustrations on a call. She said it was my device. Although I did a device check ahead of time and it passed. I tried a different internet connection. Then they suggested using my phone hotspot. After an hour my test was cancelled by ETS and I was told Ill have to reschedule. That test cost too much for it to be such a nightmare!!!

    I tried to take the at-home music PRAXIS. The lady said I was all good to go to start my test, only to tell me less than a minute later that my test was terminated. And she wouldn't even give me a good reason (other than some vague answer about security, even though I'd shown her the empty room I was in multiple times, and she was the one using the cursor on my computer and had said it was all good) and then directed me to a phone number with people who couldn't even tell me anything. I have tried to follow up, but I just get hung up on. It's been a month now, and I am still out $*** and haven't gotten to take the test that's required so I can get my teaching license. Don't take any of ETS' at-home tests through ProctorU. They will probably terminate your test, not give you an actual reason, and leave you frustrated and questioning why you spent months studying.

    Pretty bad experience. Passed between 3 techs who can see my microphone works in all other programs but does not work with ProctorU. Regardless, was told I need to fix my microphone. I also passed the pre exam equipment check. I have worked in tech and it is not ok to tell someone to fix their hardware when you remote into my machine and we can both see it is clearly working on my end. On bbb you don’t even have a single review above a single star. How have you been in business for 14 years?

    Thank you for your feedback. We are saddened to hear that you were unable to test due to technical issues. Passing the equipment check does not guarantee technical issues will not occur. The equipment check is a free service to offset the chances of technical issues occurring. There are various settings that can cause the microphone to not stream audio. Our technicians are trained to attempt basic troubleshooting. The issue was unable to be resolved in this instance and you were asked to reschedule.

    Incompetent. God forbit you have to use Proctor U, but if you do, plan at least one hour of monkey business before the time you want to take your exam.
    If you want to test at 1p, start the rigmarole at 11:45 or noon at the latest.
    Why any testing agency would employ this company is mind boggling.

    Thank you for your feedback. Upon looking into your exams scheduled for 11/17, we noticed that you were unresponsive to proctor chats. Additionally, you closed the chat box which disconnects the proctor from your computer. We understand there may have been technical issues causing these disconnects. Our support representative were able to assist you in getting connected with a proctor. However, upon launching the exam, there was an LMS issue. ProctorU has no control over the institution's exams. You were asked to reach out to your institution to resolve the issue. Later that day, you were successful in connecting and completing your exam.

    By far the worst experience I have ever had. The technicians did nothing but send me in circles. I wasted 3 whole days on this. Do not waste your time or money! Their support team tries to be helpful but has no idea what they are doing. And when I asked for a refund, they already had me fill out the request 3 times. This site should be shut down

    I have given this company a zero a long time ago. Monday I went through the worst experience with them since I started my RN nursing program at International College of Health Science. I encountered so many technicians Monday that couldn't troubleshoot my microphone on my laptop for me to take my exam it's unbelievable. I finally got a guy that fixed it so quick, that I don't know why all the techs that I spoke with could not do it. My computer passed the test but when I got ready to take exam would not work. So my computer could not be troubleshooted to get microphone to work I could not take my test. I got a zero on my last test and failed out of nursing school. I don't understand why you can't take the test if they need to talk with you they can put something in the chat box. I don't know how other colleges are doing these tests but if your computer doesn't work some other option should be made. I say this now because you never think this is going to happen to you. The school have you sign a document about computer issues because the school knows that there is always something going on with the company and they probably have not been able to fix everyone's computer. So they have us sign this to get out of any issues they would have against a student. They especially have issues with the Mac computers on exam days also. I have along with my classmates have made to wait hours at times to take exams. After reading some of these reviews this is awful that we as students have had to sacrifice so much because of this horrible company. These colleges should also look at what they are also doing to students that have put in so much time, effort and they have nothing in place to help the student, when something like this is not under your control. These computers are machines just like anything else we use. They can break at anytime, it is not our fault. A paper exam could be given. Colleges and universities wake up and change this. It's about the student.

    By far the worst proctoring place anyone can use. They are nothing but a rip off. They say they have good tech support, but it’s worthless. It does not matter how good or bad of internet, it’s not good enough and I find the software/ chrome extension that has to be downloaded invasive to my computer. They make you scan the entire room to make sure you are alone, in my family it’s next to impossible to be alone. They say they make accommodations but they can’t. They are nothing but a waste of money.

    Probably the worst software I have ever used. It is a gross invasion of privacy, as the software takes control of your computer and watches you through your webcam. This is a data breach waiting to happen, and the company has been hacked before. In addition, the software is bad from a technical standpoint. For some reason it could not take control of my computer before an exam. The technicians were extremely rude and entirely unhelpful. As a result of this I was unable to take my exam. This adds further stress and difficulty to any exam. I strongly discourage anyone from using this software.
