I made a major purchase for a carport and garage building in March’22. After many calls to customer service and being told everything from supply chain issues to monetary thresholds for delivery (and outright lies) in September’22 they hastily installed my purchases. Every time it rains I get water leaking in the front drive in doors and the building sides. So I contacted their customer service many more times and was told “We’re Looking Into It” (double talk for how we’re going to make the issues your/the buyers problems). Finally on this site I get an email contact for their complaint department, who wants photos and detailed description of issues only to be told that it’s my (the customers) problem. I had a building inspector and a contractor out and explained the issues and they said the front door seals leaking was do to faulty/inferior bottom door seals and the sides were do to rain running down and going between cement slab and siding. Well prior to cement slab construction I contacted Coast to Coast “engineers” and requested a copy of their building diagram which I gave to my contractor to insure that the slab was built to their exact specifications. Now I and some “experts “ (that are not employed by coast to coast) totally disagree. After recommending several prospective building/carport customers for Coast to Coast even giving them tours of mine, would not recommend another person to this customer unfriendly company. I even suggested very cost effective solutions to these issues but was, like other customers told by Coast to Coast, it’s my problem. (IE sealant between slab and siding, replace defective/inferior rubber door seals.

The last email that was sent to Mr. Licht is as follows,

The pictures provided by this customer show a clear drainage issue around the building.  This building's pad is missing an approach at the entrances. Any water that hits the doors will run down the doors and under them as it stands until this is corrected.  All openings need to have an approach similar to the sketch attached.
In regards to water running under the base rails, we do not run panels down past the base rail on our buildings. We do not advertise or sell any sealant for building as we do only metal building fabrication and installation. Since our metal buildings do not come sealed and are not airtight then typically customers that require this will then do so themselves or hire it elsewhere.

I have also attached all the pictures that we received as well as an approach diagram that was sent to Mr. Licht. The repair has been denied since this is a drainage issue and not on the building itself.

      Thank you,

I got with upper management and got a repair approved to go and inspect the building. Once we receive a date, I will update my response.

I had put a $1935 deposit down on a garage in October 19/2021 with coast-to coast-carports..finally called them in mid spring and ask when it was going to be installed...they said not sure yet...so waiting a few more months into june...july..and calling again and was told they didn't have my colors on hand and wasn't sure when they would get...so I decided to cancel and get my deposit back since they couldn't fulfill my order and contract ...I have called numerous times getting the run around with coast-to coast-carports getting no where...

ordered my carport in February of 2021. When they finally showed up in late October, they had failed to load all the pieces on the truck. So now it's nearly January of 2023 and after numerous calls and having them tell me that I'm on some repair list waiting for scheduling, i still don't I have a completed cover. My trailer And boat have sustained damage from the weather because of it. Not at all happy with the customer service. I just want the rest of my cover delivered and properly installed like they promised.

On 7/9/2021, I ordered a large shed which included a man door, when they finally came out to do the install and forgot to bring my man door, they charged me for the door $300 plus tax and said they would be back with it. Well here it is December 2022. I have left several messages they always promised they’re going to get back to me and let me know when they’re coming, but as of today I have not heard back from them I would like a refund of my 300+ tax for the door I did not receive. They are horrible to work with their slow. Their customer service is beyond horrible. They should not be allowed to even be in business. I’m very very tired of dealing with them. I just want my money back. I no longer care about the man door. I have learned to live without it. Thank you.

We ordered a metal barn online with Coast to Coast. We were told we would hear from them in 2-4 days to schedule construction, to date we still have not heard from anyone. I reached out to the representative assigned to us. He stated our color was out of stock. As of 12/14/22 I was told I could choose a different color and then construction could start. I told them we didn’t want a different color and this is breach of contract. He said okay he would cancel. So they canceled my order and now are telling me it could take up to 90 days IF my refund is approved of my deposit. Nothing, zero, zilch was done by Coast to Coast for them to legally keep my deposit, they did not pull permits, they did not do any drawings, nothing. They canceled because they don’t have our color and they want us to sit & wait.
There is no legal reason for them to withhold our money. Very poor customer service.

      Business Response

I have attached four documents regarding conversations between ***** ******* ******** *** ******. As you can see on the text thread, **** stated that she hasn't heard from anyone and wants a refund of her deposit. She cancelled before ****** mentioned the color being out of stock. ****** got with our GM prior to calling **** and let her know that we could get her on schedule and that we would be getting the color from another company. ****** also asked if the area was ready and **** stated that four days wasn't enough time to prepare the area, but she wants a refund for no contact. **** also mentioned that her husband had ordered another building from another company. The order was placed on 12/01/22, **** is cancelling two weeks after the order was placed. We are not refunding the down payment due to **** cancelling the order before the "breach of contact" took place. If **** is willing to keep the building, we will give her another scheduling date.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/01/2023

I have attached a copy of the signed contract and a copy of the dispute letter. Unfortunately, **** signed the contract on 12/01/22 that states no refunds on special orders. She canceled the order two weeks after she placed the order, therefore we were not in breach of the contract. The credit card company credited our account on 01/25/23.

I am rejecting this response because:

this was not a special order. Your dispute was not won. The contract stated that I ordered a color and your rep failed to mention that it was not available.  I did not cancel this. I will continue this dispute with the State Attorney General Office for fraud and have contacted local news stations to bring this story forward.

Paid over $2000 for a deposit months ago, delay after delay. *******, told me balance was due day of installation. I've had very little in communication. And now the colors ordered are out of stock. So I choose second choice colors and they try to get another $6500 BEFORE THEY EVEN SHOW UP! The history, integrity, and reviews show how likely they would be to complete project. I expect my money to be returned, for the ZERO value I received.

We have been unable to receive a scheduled time for our shop to be built, have not received communication during this period, have had several missed commitments from the company and due to their sub-contractor that was incorrectly installing as per their engineered drawings, do not have a building after they committed to a 9/3/22 build date. Desired resolution : Shop to be built ASAP

      • 12/2020 | Placed a deposit of 5K down for a shop build in Kuna,Idaho

      • 7/5/22 | We emailed ***** ****** to advise that the concrete had been poured and had cured and were looking for a time to schedule.

      • July-August 22’ | We placed several calls and sent several emails to understand when our shop would be scheduled for build.

      • 8/26/22 | Received a call that we were on the schedule for our build the following week and needed to rent a telescoping forklift to aid in assembly.

      • 8/31-9/2 | scheduled date for build, did not arrive even after a text message indicating they were on their way, including an ETA, During this period we were renting a telescoping forklift (as instructed) at a rate of $500.00 per day.

      • 9/3/22 | A subcontractor arrived on site with our shop and worked for about 2 hours. He then advised us that the pad was too small to install the building. However if we just gave him the certified check BEFORE installation instead of AFTER installation (as instructed by Coast to Coast), they would continue to build and erect our building. We were concerned about handing over a check for $27,568.45 with no work.

      • 9/6/22 | After the holiday weekend we had both our general contractor and our concrete sub-contractor come out to advise on the issue with the pad (they claimed it was too small). Upon several measurements, we discovered in fact it was not too small.

we are now a month past our original install date and have no shop and no communication after their sub was incorrect measuring our pad. No one will take our calls or answer emails.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/26/2022

Our scheduling manager spoke with the ID Shop manager regarding the concrete. You will have to extend your concrete because when the crew came out to install the structure would not fit properly on the slab. The baserail was hanging off, therefore the building wouldn't be able to be installed correctly. If you go down on the size of the building, you would have to reorder drawings. If you extend the concrete, the drawings still still work. Please advise on how you would want to go about this.

      Business Response

The install took place on 12/3.

contacted coast to coast in april of this year. put a deposit of $514.50 on 5-11-2022. i contactacted them in april to ensure i would get my carport before snow begins. we were told august ,which would work. we got a call at the end of july that our order was ready , we just needed to set up time with crew out of idaho.
On june 13th our home ,along with 4 other counties in montana was hit with an unprecedented 500 year flood that forced us to evacuate. This event washed away 84 yards of gravel base ,which our carport was to be placed on.
I called coast to coast to explain our situation ,telling them if we could wait a couple of weeks i would have the carport base ready. Since then they have told me they do not know when they will get the color (grey) in and there was no way they could guarantee installment before winter.
At this point i asked for a refund and was told they would send this request upstairs ,but there was no guarantee i would get my money refunded.
The whole reason i wanted a carport was for my wife, who is a ******* *** ********** ***** ,could make appointments on time since we live in the country.
I have been running round and round for the last 3 weeks with these folks and just want my money refunded , not in 90 days like they said it could if at all.
I could not control this disaster the same as coast to coast could not. i just want them to refund my deposit and i will begin building a carport myself
      thank you for your time
