I just wrote a check today for roughly $200 to a nice gentleman who seemed legitimate. I have ADT and the video of the engagement is recorded and documented. Reading these reviews Im now a bit skeptical and will forward the engagement to the proper authorities if it is a scam. I would highly recommend canceling or refunding the check if this is not legitimate. Please advise within 24 hours of now.

This is the same story I just read below: Wish this was legitimate but it is a complete scam! Two lovely young ladies, came to my door with a story of personal difficulties for which I was concerned and then talked about how they we legitimately selling magazines to benefit others. The ladies showed me documents, spoke really fast, and told me that my donation would be tax deductible to one of 5 non-profits, that I could choose. I chose a women's shelter and wrote a check for over $100 and was told the magazines I selected would be sent for a year to the shelter. I then was given a receipt and at the bottom of the receipt I noticed in small print the web address was a( .com ) address and not a (.org) for non-profits, which means it is not tax deductible. I then read the customer copy text on the lowere portion of the receipt and decided to check out Optimum Reading Services LLC. My concern was confirmed and I was dissapointed to learn that this is a fraudulent organization and therefore canceled my payment. Don't fall into this trap.... so many people want to help and do the right thing. This makes me SAD.
