On Oct 1st 2023 had this company come out and get my trapped car out of the garage. I needed new springs, new pulleys and cables and also had new rollers installed. The job took 2 hours. Should have read the reviews about this company but they appeared to be reputable. I was charged $2500 for the job. Two days later I checked on what the required parts would cost. They amounted to less than $300. Emailed the company and asked them to send me an invoice and possibly reconsider that charge. Heard nothing from them. Im seventy six and I guess way to trusting. if that charge sounds correct to you then maybe use this company. Others use the principal of buyer beeare

Prices were on the high side for the springs but the tech did a good job and was quick about it but unfortunately, the tech charged my cc 3 times for the charges and was told by customer ********************** to email them a copy of my cc statement before they will consider refunding the extra charges. 1 starA long story. They told me $129 to install a (free with service) garage door bottom weatherstripping. (I called in to verify the price). Then it went to $330! (For another metal piece, plus travel time plus???) Then they made my tenant believe that my garage door was not safe!! (I dont think they should be talking to MY tenants AT ALL. I AM PAYING THE ****** ***** then my tenants feel like it is unsafe. THEN they said I NEEDED more work to the tune of $1200!! I said ABSOLUTELY NOT!! So I took care of that problem AND I called another garage door company. THE NEW COMPANY CHARGED ME $99!!!! For a *************! I feel like I should only pay A1 Garage for the weather stripping and the metal piece ($100?) Also 2 other people knew about A-1s upsale tactics. One being a TITLE INSURANCE AGENT!!Review fromDiana G

5 stars******* is the best! Ive been in my house over 25 years. Same door. ******* installed the new opener several years ago. Thru the years I have needed a few spring adjustments. Today was a whole other thing. Tried to fix it myself. Haha. I was on the step stool puling on the cord. I went flying. Serious ouch. Door was left open. Called ******* and he was able to come out quickly. Same day. Reasonable. Fast. Ohhh and super nice. Respectful. Professional. ******* and Ideal Doors is on my short list of three reliable contractors I have found in my 25 years of home ownership. Simply the best!Review fromBernie H

1 starI am appalled at their bait and switch business tactics and treatment of customers. I had a roller break and come out of the track and called A1 to get it fixed. They came out the next day and quoted me $140 to fix the roller and do an assessment of my garage door and opener. About 30 min later they said that they had fixed the roller and said that the garage door would need a new spring, all new rollers (plus the one they fixed) and new cables which they quoted me $2,000 for. Thats a lot of money for me and so, as a practical homeowner, I told the technician that I was not willing to spend that today and I would be calling other companies to get additional quotes for the work. After I said that, the technicians entire attitude towards me changed. He threatened to take out the roller he had just replaced and put back the old, broken one if I didnt pay him to do the rest of the workeven though he had originally said the $140 would cover the new roller. And he never even finished the assessment of the garage door opener because apparently I wasnt worth his time anymore if I wasnt going to agree to the additional work (even though the $140 was supposed to pay for a test of the garage door opener too). He then even tried to push me into buying an entirely new garage door, saying I was going to almost pay for a new one anyways after the other work was done (and then the deal they said they could get for me to put in a brand new garage door would run out in a day or two so I needed to hurry up and make up my mind). I am a young, single female homeowner and was beside myself at that point and felt so uncomfortable and pushed into making a decision right then and there (which is SUPER SHADY). Well now I know why - I called a different reputable garage door repair company later on today and for all the parts and labor work A1 told me my garage door needed, this other company quoted me 1/4 of the cost that A1 did!!!! I am so glad I didnt agree to anymore work.Review fromJo G

5 starsMason was great. He was knowledgeable, went over the job parameters and pricing before starting. Answered any questions before starting. Was quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
