      My prior waste service provider (****************************************) was acquired by Republic Services towards the end of 2023. At the time of this switch, I was not contacted by Republic Services to review my terms of service, nor have I signed anything acknowledging the terms of service. Upon cancellation of my residential service (4/21/25), I was informed that a $33 "container retrieval fee" would be charged to my account. I pay quarterly and the last payment was charged 3/12/25, with service running through 4/28/25. I was signed up for ********, so they will deduct the fee from the refund I am due. This fee is not even clearly outlined in the ******************* Terms on their website. Even with the invoices directing customers to review these terms, ******************** cannot assume that these terms of service have been acknowledged, especially in scenarios when the customer's prior ********************** service was acquired. Without having acknowledged these terms of service, any fees assessed after my service has been terminated are completely unethical and in my opinion, unlawful. I am demanding that the $33 container retrieval fee is waived.

      On January 6, I called Republic to cancel my trash and recycling services effective immediately. I was told I would be charged a $35 pick up fee for both my trash and recycling cans but I was NOT told they would charge me for the entire month of January. Lo and behold, they charged me $40 per can for pick up and charged me for the entire month of service, even though I did not even have cans for half the month!

      I have been experiencing numerous problems with my garbage collection through Republic Services. There were several times when the trash pickup was delayed or cancelled, however I did receive a text and/or voicemail letting me know, which was at least helpful in being informed. Unfortunately, the problems have grown worse. First, I was informed recently that my trash pickup day would be changing, which is fine, however they have now changed it to regular garbage and recycling being picked up on different days. This is extremely inconvenient for customers, as having to leave the cans out near the street longer and things being picked up different days creates problems (containers falling down, being left in the street or sidewalks, etc.) Then, last week, my garbage was not picked up at all. I had to call Republic Services to tell them that my trash was not picked up and they simply said, oh we'll send someone out another day to get it. This is not acceptable, I am paying for a service that I am not receiving in an acceptable manner. Further, the price I get charged keeps going up and up. Finally, the main reason I decided to file this complaint is because today my recycling container was left with the lid open, which I observed on a security camera. So now after working a 12 hour day, I have to go deal with a garbage can with water in it because it rained today. This is totally unacceptable, if something doesn't change immediately I will have to go with a different trash company.

      The hauling division did a reroute back in March. The customers days were changed to having ********************** picked up on Tuesday, and the recycling is picked up on Wednesday. I did pull video of the past two services and I could not find the cans out for service when the truck drove by. We will make a note for the driver to keep the lids closed after service. I spoke to our sales manager and we will drop the fees to reduce his rate to $87.02 a quarter.

      Our township did not review the contract with Republic and the bid was won to ****** instead. Our last date of service was March 28, 2025 and Republic told us to make sure the empty trash cans were at the end of our driveway/curb so they could pick up the cans. It has now been over two weeks and my development still has all the trash cans sitting at the curb. Republic has given us multiple dates of when they will pick the cans up. They have not picked them up on any of the dates promised. This is causing issues for our new service and potential safety hazards to try and avoid the cans from wind/storms. We just want the trash cans picked up and Republic doesnt seem to have an answer for us that is accurate. Very poor business.

      I can not reach them . There web site takes me on a loop. They wont answer there phone. I stay on hold for an hour waiting then they are closed. I work nights 12 hrs and I cant get a new trash can . Ive been trying for 2 weeks. They damaged it with the collection truck.

      Called to order a large dumpster to be delivered onsite. The first contract sent was incorrect and the company couldnt provide the service I requested. The second contract that was sent to me was full of inaccurate information so it was redone for a third time. The third contract came and it did not have a delivery date for the dumpster and I was told that they would let me know when it would be delivered in a couple of weeks. I am on a tight schedule and Republic Services couldnt provide a dumpster to me in my required timeframe. I was initially told that a deposit of $650 would need to be collected. My credit card information was collected and immediately charged for the deposit. Keep in mind that we had no executed contract.. when I was sent the third contract to sign I instead cancelled the contract as they were unable to provide me with a dumpster. I have been charged $650for an unsigned, cancelled contract. They refuse to refund my money or return calls or emails.What a horrible company that I hope to never have any dealings with. I just want my money refunded.

      I reached out to our customer serviced team to follow up on this, the charge was reversed on April 8th for the customer. The representative that was working on this request normally covers residential, not large containers, and was helping out for the day. I called the customer to let them know that we do have containers available and are happy to work with them to get this resolved. I also let the customer know that their charge was reversed on April 8th. I left my personal cell phone number for the customer to reach out to me if they have any questions, or would like to further discuss this.

      I have been a customer of ******************** for over 10 years. Over the course of those years my bill has increased 150%. They constantly miss pickups. I have contacted them multiple times and was always assured it would never happen again. It keeps happening.

      Regarding BBB Complaint ********, we confirm that the reported missed services were logged via our online portal. After receipt, we arranged for recovery to occur within twenty-four business hours of receiving the notification. Additionally, as a goodwill gesture, we issued a credit of $37.55 on April 15th for five weeks of solid waste services. An email has been sent to the complainant outlining the credit amount.  A refund request for this amount has been submitted and is anticipated to be processed within four to six weeks. We consider this matter resolved and closed.

      So, I have been trying to catch up with my bills since working . I've been paying a little at a time . I called my bank on Friday when I got off trying to see who took money out of my account. It was a collection from waste management. I paid a payment 2 weeks before, and only I owed them ***** . I didn't agree to them taking it out of my account. I thought I could call on Friday to make a payment. It was taken out, and my account was closed . They never sent me an email confirmation . They told me they would let Republic Services know, and my trash services should start back in a few days . I forgot to take the trash can to the road Tuesday morning . They never got the trash can its been here every since . Well, I called Republic Services today to see if they received that I paid my debit in full and is it OK to start back Services they said I have to pay ****** to get my services back I said that's not what I was told and so I don't have that and I told them they can come get the trash can because I was told something else and I don't have that in order to start back services. I need trash services.

      November 5 2024 I called to cancel service due to my charges nearly doubling. The invoice i had was for the months of Nov Dec and January. They told me I would need to pay for December also because that just the way they do the billing. I reluctantly agreed and paid after several emails back and forth. I was then also charged for January and a late fee for Nov and December even though they were pre billing for those months and we were negotiating charges. The Dumpster and recycle bin were left at my buisness until mid January and now I am being charged for a container removal fee. They are their containers. Why should I pay them to remove them from my property. I am refusing to pay and they are threatening to send me to collections and report to credit agencies. They are sneaky with their billing and will get away with whatever they can. I will report them for fraudulent charges if they continue this nonsense

      I've reached out to Republic multiple times regarding our account and their bad business practices. It appears that their staff is working from home based on children crying and dogs barking in the background. I've requested to speak with a manager and they tell me one isn't available and i would need to leave a ********** account *** nor management has called me back.
