      We used Republic Services for our waste and recycle pick-up for years and we terminated services at the end of May 2025 (no trash pick-up after that date). I initially received an invoice after last pick-up indicating that I had a credit on my bill for the overpayment due to a mid-quarter cancellation. I contacted Republic to see if I would receive a check for the overpayment and at that time they indicated that there would be a future charge for pick-up of the two containers by a "third party" - per their "Service Terms For Residential Customers" on their website they indicated this would occur. However, I just received a final invoice that not only do they have the "third party" pick-up charge they have also included "Fuel/Environment Recovery Fee" of $33.70, "Solid Waste Management Tax" of $5.93 and "COU Solid Waste Management Fee" of $9.43. Keep in mind during this billing I had NO Trash or Recycle pick-up and their Service Agreement states that these fees are to be used "to help our business recover both direct and indirect costs associated with the operation of collection, transfer, recycling and landfill gas to energy services". Remember we had no services from Republic during this cycle. My concern is that this has not only happened on my invoice but to all final invoices they sent out to other customers. I did contact ********************** (*******) and she indicated that the additional costs are required by law but looking at MN law it does not address "third party" pick-up charges as a taxable/fee event. The Service Agreement does include a "Dispute resolution-agreement to arbitrate and class action waiver" but this could be far reaching based on the number of customers ********************** serves.

      Thank you for writing in with your price questions. Yes, we do charge for removal fees. The deliveries and removals are done by a different truck, other than the trash and recycle driver and with that we have to recoup the cost of having to remove the carts at the end of the service period. We removed the carts 06/04, an entire month after you called in. In this instance, I will credit you the $49.06 for the removal fees. Accordingly, we consider this matter resolved.

      On May 30, 2025 I cancelled my trash for June, July and August ******* at two addresses:****************************************************** **************************************** This is for Account Number **************. I received today a bill for June, July and August which is not billable since my ******* has been cancelled and the bins have been picked up. Please correct this issue ASAP.

      The invoice for
      June, July and August service went out 5/15.  The customer called 15 days
      later to cancel the service.

      The accounts
      were closed effective 5/31 and that created a credit for the 3 months but the
      invoice wouldn’t generate until 6/15.
      There is a $5
      late fee on the account which I will credit today and the account will be at a
      zero balance.

      I spoke to someone in billing on 6-03-25 and she told me that she was going to give me a senior discount because my bill had gone up $14.07 in one billing cycle so she told me with the discount my bill would be $87.02 So I paid the $87.02 on 6-08-25 today I got a phone call telling me bill was past due!! I was on the phone today for 2 hours I waited and waited to speak to billing he said he saw the case but he needed to transfer me to sales, he just transferred me back to the que where I waited again for another hour and then it came on a and said they were closed and to call back during regular business hours. I do plan to file a complaint with the bbb!!! This is consumer abuse, maybe because I am considered elderly.

      ********** customer service. And they have billed after I canceled my account. They never came and got their cans even after I called around 12 times to ask them to put in a ticket. They still havent come and gotten them. Its been almost a month.

      I had been a customer for 10 years with Allied, and then another 10 years with Republic when they purchased my service from ******. I have never missed a payment or been late with a bill. From 2022 to October of 2024 my price steadily increased until it was more then double the price from 2022. I decided to choose another garbage collector. I wanted to cancel through Republics website, or a chat function or an email so that I would have a record of the cancellation, but Republic has none of these available, You are simply forced to call their customer service line. I did this and cancelled my service at the end of the billing cycle which covered me through December 2024. I requested an email confirmation to be sent to me and never received anything. Due to no receipt of cancellation confirmation, I placed a final call mid-December and was assured everything was set for my service to be cancelled at the end of the final bill I paid in October. I again requested an email confirmation of this and nothing was sent. My new service with another firm began January 1st and Republic came and picked up there cans a week or two into January. Then I received another bill charging for additional service that I didn't use, request and was assured would not occur. I refused to pay the bill and now they have sent me to a collections company. Calls to explain and get credited for their billing mistake were ignored.

      I canceled my garbage service in April after moving to a new address.I am still getting monthly bills and they haven't canceled me. I have sent emails to account managers but it still hasn't been ******** was an incredibly difficult process they had me go through to cancel making me talk to multiple salespeople who tried to offer me lower rates.

      I opened my trash account on may 12, 2025 with payments for the services for my trash to be picked up. It is 6/18/25 and yes have received services. My trash has not been picked up ONE time and it has been over flowing and creating health concerns for my dogs that have gotten sick from getting into the trash. I have called this company over 10 times and spoke with multiple different managers which all say the same thing, that my trash will be picked up and yet trash is still on my front lawn. I have contacted the local news for my issue of refusal of service by this company. I am requesting mental pain and suffering damages of ****** dollars for dealing with disgusting trash over flowing in the heat and rain causing bugs, maggots and animals in the trash surrounding my home!

      Good afternoon,

      We have received the customer's escalation and responded by sending a supervisor and a driver/truck to service the customer.  We can confirm that everything has been serviced.  We have apologized for the service delay and any inconvenience the customer has experienced.  We have credited all charges billed to the account and we will remove our equipment at no charge.  The customer will be refunded for the prepayment required when she started service however, we are not able to meet the customer's request for additional reimbursement. 

      The account is scheduled to be closed as of 6/30/25 and there will be no charge for the final week of service.

      This is a complaint for Republic Services Trash/recycling out of **********, but it doesn't give me that option. I guess maybe this is their corporate headquarters? Latest issue occurred June 12th due to another failed pickup of recycling. They notified of a one day delay as usual but still haven't picked up as of June 18th. This is a paid service, as in I am paying for this and they aren't performing the service. This has been ongoing for >6 months with late or missed pick **** I don't care about the fee, just the pile up of recycling/trash that I have no other place to put. Need them to come get this stuff, like I paid them to do, and then cancel my service. I'm certain it isn't isolated to just me as I see many other residents around me with their recycling still at curbside.

      We have Republic Services for trash and recycling pickup. It has been 3 weeks without any service. We have reached out to them and they say they are going to pick up the trash but dont show up We have paid them for the service. At this point they should be offering us a free month.

      We notified Republic mid March to discontinue our service and pick up their container on March 30. They proceeded to bill us for April and May during which time we had absolutely NO service from them. Now they are threatening to turn us over for collection and may have already done so. We have used them as a waste provider for about 20 years but they started adding a fuel fee of $100 per month and just made their service unaffordable for us. Our new provider does not add this fee. We always paid our bill on time and we actually have a spotless credit rating. The last time I spoke to them regarding this problem, I was told we should have given them two months to discontinue!! Absurd!! I want them to reverse all charges since March 30 (currently $793.26) and restore our perfect credit rating in regard to this account. Please help. Sincerely T Q ********
