I entered the PT with EOS on sports arena ******************** with my girlfriend mid January because they told me a too good to be true plan and we said yes. They had said that instead of 44 a session it would be 22 a session because were students and of course who wouldnt do that, come to find out theyre charging us 44 every two weeks for 4 months and Im like what, that totals to ************************************ college so Im literally trying to save every dollar. This is unfair and unethical that theyre just using me for money and it made me unmotivated to go to the gym because I disliked them for making me lose 300 plus dollars and now I know Im the future never to do PT with any gym. I want a refund because not only did they scam me but when I went in person, they were aggressive and didnt try to resolve anything and when I told them I wanted to cancel the gym they said why and Im like seriously I told you why, you scammed me. I want a refund for my girlfriend and I because were both students and dont deserve to be treated like that. I only did the PT 2-3 times, if you want me to pay for that then its fine but I want the refund for the rest because I feel used and treated horribleBusiness Response

I signed up for personal training sessions with this company when they first opened a gym in my area. After three months, I informed their management that I no longer needed the sessions and wanted to cancel. Their policy requires a 30-day notice for cancellation, and I followed this exactly.Despite giving proper notice, I later discovered in February 2025 that I was still being charged for personal training. I went to the front desk and was told a manager would reach out to meno one ever did. The charges continued, and I was forced to initiate a chargeback with my ********, on April 17, 2025, I received a debt collection notice. The gym has placed this false debt in collections despite my valid cancellation and the unresolved issue on their part. I went to the location and spoke with a "manager" who said there was nothing he could do.This business has failed to cancel services, continued to charge me without consent, and is now attempting to damage my credit by sending it to collections. This is unacceptable, unethical, and deceptive.Business Response

Upon signing up for gym membership we were asked to sign up on an electronic form. We were told that we could upgrade our membership for an additional $10/ month. Apparently written on the electronic form in small print is a notification that we would be charged ( my wife and I) an annual membership fee of $59. We were told that our up charge would only be $10/month. The representative never mentioned the $59 additional fee. Two weeks after signing up my credit card which I gave them was charged $59 twice for myself and my wife. I immediately went to the facility ( 2 weeks after signing up) and requested a cancellation of the membership. They made it very difficult to even meet with the correct person. First attempt I waited 1 hour. Next day I made an appointment and still had to wait 40 minutes past the appointed time. Was told that the annual membership of $59 for both my wife and I are not refundable. What makes this more alarming is that if you go on line and review this company, many reviewers complained about the same issue. If thats the case why are they hiding the fact that there is a $59 annual membership? If they were legit, they would let you know this at the time you are committing. In addition they told us you can cancel anytime, which is true, but you have to give them 30 days notice with payment.Business Response

I was coerced into signing up for the personal training during a very traumatic time in my life after losing BOTH my mother and my nephew within a six week period. At the time I was using the Active and Fit membership and they signed me up for a one time 6 week training. My membership with Active and Fit expired on September 24 when I closed my account and I moved from ******** to ***********. I did not RENEW any contract with EOS fitness nor did I sign up with them as a member and yet they continued to charge me KNOWING that I was not a member and these charges dating back months for a total of $1,760 is fraudulent! I'm reporting this to the Better Business Bureau now and to ********* since I'm a ************ Veteran and I feel taken advantage of and my hard earned monies from my disability compensation was taken away by fraud. No one has reached out to me from EOS Fitness to ask if I was going to be joining up, training with the personal trainers, but they sure did take my money. The only reason why I found out is because I went over my credit card limit with **** and I hadn't been using my card for months but found out that over $1,760 in charges were made from EOS Fitness! I want a refund for all of it! I only attended 2 sessions and told them I had to cancel because I have severe injuries that prevented me from working out. They coerced me and convinced me to sign up during a very traumatic time in my life and then continued to charge me even though I told them I cancelled my contract with Active and Fit and then cancelled my personal training contract as well.Business Response

the date of the transaction was a 4/1/2025 i was convinced my the fitness manager to get a pt. i said i don't really want one. and he told me that if i paid 20$ now i would have 2 pt classes and i could keep them and use them when i wanted them. i asked him multiple times that if i did not use them would i have to pay any extra fees. he told me multiple times that i would not have to pay anything else if i did not use them. i then signed the contract thinking that i would not have to pay any more. unless i decide to use a pt. which i was not really sure about to begin with. i have not used any pt. and my account was charged 88$ for pt. and i went and asked him about it. he then said i was locked in to pay 88$ bi weekly for 4 months and the only way out was to pay the full amount. i do not want a pt. and want a refund. and showed me what i signed. which i did not sign that. i signed a electrical signiture that did not show the full contract. and he did not explain to me the full scope of the contractBusiness Response

I signed up for personal training when I joined *** in December of 2024. On 1/18/2025 I fractured my kneecap (at EOS). The expected time for full recovery is 3-6 months. My wife dropped off the doctors note with the xray at EOS on 1/31/2025. The associate, ******, texted back that she had submitted the request for cancellation of the personal training contract. Since then I have been billed five times for personal training I could not do due to my medical condition. I have spoken to four different staff at *** at various times and have been assured that the contract has been cancelled and a request for a refund of the ******** since my accident. The latest billing was 4/5/2025. I am willing to eat the cost of the initial missed session on 1/24 but I want the contract cancelled and a refund for 2/7, 2/21,3/21 and 4/5 - $43 per session for a total of $172. This appears to be regular operating procedure for EOS. When I checked the BBB for complaints when this saga started EOS had 743 complaints in the last year - most similar to my situation.Business Response

On April 5, 2025, I signed a Personal Training Agreement with EOS Fitness at the *************, ** location. The contract clearly states I have 3 business days to cancel, and that cancellations must be submitted via email or mail not in person. On April 7, I emailed *************************************** to cancel, well within the allowed window. I received no confirmation. I then:Called the club on April 9 and asked to speak to the PT manager, but was redirected to an online feedback form, which I completed twice with no response. On April 15, I attempted to submit a second form, this time directly associated with the specific club location that form failed to submit and displayed an error message.Meanwhile, I received contradictory emails: one saying my request was forwarded for processing, and another saying I had to visit the club in person, which violates the cancellation policy stated in the contract.I have followed every step according to their own rules and in a timely manner, but EOS Fitness is making it incredibly difficult to cancel despite my valid, contract-compliant request. This feels intentionally obstructive, and I am concerned that I may be billed for a service I properly canceled within the legal window.Business Response

I had a membership at club 8674. I cancelled on January 7, 2025 by calling the club and giving the 20 days notice. I knew that there would be another charge in Feb, but that should have been the final charge. I was again charged in March after canceling. I had called the club multiple time to correct the issue. I was repeatedly told the membership had been cancelled, but no refund was issued. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and ESOS responded that I had not cancelled until April 7th. I had this exact same problem when I was canceling a personal trainer. The club is not handling the billing correctly and I am looking for a refund and cancellation of my account.Business Response
