1 starQuick Notes:-There are hidden fee policies that are not explicitly stated when signing for your agreement to join during promotional periods. -Gym is not kept clean in bathroom or swim pool areas. -This location prioritizes money and business needs over loyal customers. -Poor customer service on part of front desk staff member ******* and manager, ************************* -Overview: ************************* the manager of Golds Gym dtla as well staff member ****** were extremely unhelpful in providing me a solution to cancellation. Not only did they make me pay an additional months worth of a gym membership I had not used. They had no knowledge of the policy and support they could provide the customer. Moreover, ************************* suggested I freeze my account which would result in my inability to go to the gym but require a payment of $30 for three months as well as $54 for the last month. This would amount to $84+tax which would mean I would be paying more the delay the payment. *** been managing family matters and explained this to the manager. No remorse, no consideration, he simply asked either I pay the fee today or more down the road. ******, spoke to me in a condensing manner implying that I had malicious intent when calling. I paid the fee, but I will never in my entire existence go back to any Golds Gym location. Thank you ****** and ************************* for providing absolutely horrendous customer service experience, especially at a time like this.Review fromMelissa F

This is a business looking for a sale rather than the safety of their members. My stepson signed up with his mother (paying cash) at 12 years old. They assumed his mother was telling them the truth when she told them he was 13. There wasnt any verification of his age and he was told he could come to the gym on his own without any supervision. I have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and manager of multiple gyms. I have never seen such negligence when it comes to kids having the access of gym equipment without supervision that could potentially hurt them, especially while they are still growing. Their policy is that kids ***** must be supervised at all times by an adult while in the the gym. They clearly dont follow their own policies. When I called to have them explain to me their reasoning allowing my stepson in without supervision, they told me they have a lot of kids who workout and hangout there without supervision. This is completely irresponsible of the parents looking for babysitting and the gym for trying to make a buck at the kids expense.Gold's Gym SoCal

I have been attempting to cancel my membership, since April 16th. I cannot afford the membership. I lost my job August 2023. I am a disabled military veteran, with mental illness. This is why I was terminated from my last job and why after many attempts applying for work, I havent had any success. Even after a few interviews. I am a single parent, I am in thousands of dollars in debt. Every single dollar counts in my current situation. GOLDS GYM HAS LIED TO ME, MANY TIMES ALREADY. 1) WHEN I CALLED AND WAS GIVEN A NUMBER TO CANCEL, IT DID NOT WORK. 2) I WAS GIVEN A WEBSITE, IT DID NOT WORK EITHER. I SPOKE WITH 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE TODAY, INCLUDING A MEMBERSHIP SUPERVISOR, OR WHATEVER HE IS, WHO I EXPLAINED THE ENTIRE SITUATION TO. HE DID NOT CALL ME BACK AS HE SAID HE WOULD. HE SAID HE WOULD TALK TO A MANAGER. IT IS END OF DAY. THEY DID NOT HELP ME, NO ONE DID. THEY ARE INPEDING ME FROM CANCELING MY MEMBERSHIP. THEY DO NOT CARE, THEY JUST WANNA TAKE MONEY FROM ME. MONEY I DO NOT HAVE. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH ESPORTA FITNESS WHEN I NO LONGER COULD AFFORD MY PERSONAL FITNESS SESSIONS, AND THAT WAS A LOT OF MONEY THEY LOST. BUT THEY REALLY INDERSTOOD MY SITUATION. CALLING CORPORATE DOES NOT HELP AT ALL. GOLDS IS ROBBING ME. ALL I CAN DO NOW, IS FREEZE MY DEBIT CARD, OR CANCEL MY DEBIT CARD AND TELL MY BANK THE FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY FROM THEIR PART AGAINTS MY PERSON.Gold's Gym SoCal

1 starWarning: Terrible Experience with ********** *******, ** I recently had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with **********, specifically at the *******, ** location. I feel compelled to share my story to warn others about the unprofessionalism and lack of integrity I encountered.I initially signed up with a $1 initiation fee, expecting to take advantage of a promotional offer. However, I made it clear that I needed my account to be placed on freeze as I was traveling out of the country. Despite providing documentation of my travel plans, I discovered three months later that Gold's Gym had been charging my account every month, along with the initial fee, without my knowledge or consent. When I finally realized what was happening and requested a refund, the process became a nightmare. I was met with constant excuses and delays whenever I tried to contact the management. Despite speaking to the General Manager and explaining my situation, I was met with indifference and ultimately denied a refund. It's evident that Gold's Gym ******* cares more about squeezing money out of its customers than their fitness and wellness. The lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction is appalling. It's even more disheartening to learn that the staff member who initially assisted me is no longer employed, allegedly due to similar complaints.I urge anyone considering joining ********** in *******, **, to think twice. This establishment has shown a complete disregard for its customers' well-being and is only interested in profiting at their expense. I plan to share my experience on every social media platform to ensure that others are aware of what they might encounter. In conclusion, my experience with ************** *******, **, was nothing short of a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and find a gym that values its customers and their satisfaction.Review fromIda J

1 starWent in on Groupon, ***** said they had a promotional deal better than Groupon . Was told I had 45 days to decide if I want membership and I wouldnt get charged. And implied I could easily cancel with a phone call. .2weeks later, monthly due charged and upon calling to cancel agreement , it would take 30 days and therefore get charged another monthly dues .Called manager and was able to waive annual yearly fees. But not monthly dues Ive had this membership for 25 days and have been charged for 2 monthly dues .Was intentionally mislead and no information regarding billing or cancellation details was volunteered to me in person . Whats worse is Im a former Employee and members told me of similar customer service complaints .Horrible scammers !Review fromJoseph H

1 starI am writing to express my deep concern regarding my lifetime membership contract with Golds Gym. I initially signed this contract in ****, and since then, I have consistently paid my dues.Recently, I have noticed a gradual increase in the membership fees. When I discussed this matter with the General Manager (GM), he attributed the price adjustments to gym upgrades and inflation. However, I firmly believe that the terms of my original contract should be honored.Despite my efforts, I have been unable to reach a resolution. I attempted to contact the regional manager via email, but unfortunately, I received no response. I also visited the gym in person and presented my contract to the *** who informed me that only the regional manager has the authority to modify membership terms.Regrettably, I am still awaiting communication from the regional manager. Additionally, my outreach on social media channels has yielded no results. As a loyal lifetime member, I kindly request your intervention in resolving this matter promptly. Transparency and adherence to our contractual agreement are of utmost importance to me.Review fromMacy E

1 starat all the last 5 to 6 months and the payment still haven't been going out on his card. He was very rude over the phone saying that I should "take money from out of my pocket and pay my own boyfriend the last months" and not them ....when it was clearly 100% their fault. Communication and the service was completely 100%, messed up and wrong, and they knew it from the start, and they didn't mention anything to us, and money has been taken out from my boyfriend's card ever since without his notice. I want a full refund of the months we never used the gym and also because it was 100% their fault. *****, don't lie to yourself.. you did us wrong and you let our bill add up without us knowing. You're a liar and you have TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ignoring my phone calls when I've been calling to speak to you for days and have this settled. You promised me a refund the *** you talked to me and I've gotten nothing. He needs to be let go knowing how many times he's done this to people. Btw *******, *******, and ***** are amazingly sweet and were very apologetic about everything. Let one of them replace *****. They're the only ones there that cares.Review fromcate l

1 starI never went nor physically applied here, but I got non-stop requests/calls to update my payment!. Sending text messages every time and their CS telling that why will we have your card details if you never went here? Like come on- do your job and check the log ins or even cctv or better yet do a research on how to really do business instead of harassing people!
