In 2019 I had a sales person come and sell me Solar Panels, he mentioned that it would save me over half of what I was paying in electricity bills and the Panels would work 98% of the time. He also mentioned that the project would include roof replacement. He stated I needed a new roof as the current one (terracotta tile roof), would not work with the panels. When it came time to start the project, the Sales person mentioned that he was not able to include roof replacement. He asked if I could pay for the roof, I explained that I didn't have the money to pay for something that major. The roof replacement was the 2nd reason I signed the contract for the panels. The first was to lower my electricity bills, as I was a single mother of 5. The sales man took it upon himself to pay for the roof out of his own credit card, he mentioned it was something he shouldn't do but since the project was signed, he did it. The sales man guaranteed me a seamless process after the roof situation. A year later when I received my Electricity bill, it was over $3000, and since then it has been this amount or more. All this time I thought I was, using too much energy. Come to find out the system is not even on-no power. I found this out when I called my electric company last month, they came to see why my bill was so high, checked the meter. They pointed out the system was not on, and I need to call someone out. I don't know when it stopped or if it ever even worked as promised. It took me a while to find out who the company was and file this. It's unfair that this company continues to promise and take advantage of people. Especially a single woman, that trust companies who work with the Pace Program. I have a Hero Program, and not once did they take advantage. Something needs to be done, I would like my money back and have them cancel my loan, take their panels and system out. I would have saved more money by not having them. I've have to make payment arrangements each year to ******.Initial Complaint

We purchased a new roof and 24, 400w ************* panels. Sunergy completely botched the main panel upgrade, denying over and over until one of their own techs recognized the failure to follow code requirements and could have caused a fire. Then our panels didnt work for the whole month of June 2022. Our contract states a 98% efficiency rating of the panels and with 24 panels at 400w x an average of 5.9 peak sunlight hours, our system should be producing well over **** kWh per month. It has one month for the last two years its gotten in the remote vicinity of that production. Our roof also began leaking after only two years of a brand new roof, contracted by Sunergy. I am seeking civil punitive damages for negligence and breach of contract.Initial Complaint

Sunergy installed solar panels in June of 2019. Our roof began leaking earlier this year. We assumed it was where the panels were installed on our second story. We tried to contact Sunergy and the phone lines are disconnected. We had our roofer come look at the roof and they found holes in the roof where Sunergy had drilled for the Solar panels, but did not use the holes and redrilled new holes for the panels and never fixed the holes that were not used. Our roofer fixed the holes they could locate. The roof is still leaking and they have found new holes under where the solar panels are located. Now we will have to have someone remove the solar panels so they can fix the holes under the panels and then reinstall the panels. This has been frustrating and we should not be paying out of pocket for a terrible installation job by Sunergy, but since they seem to no longer be in business we may have not choice. Would love to be contacted by Sunergy, or whatever company name they are now operating under to have them fix thier shoddy work. We took out a loan to purchase the panels and are still paying on the loan.Initial Complaint

Purchased the solar panel on May 2020 from SunErgy Construction, inc. The system costs me over $44.000, system size is 9.92kW. The production was not close to what was promised. The inverter shows that the production is around 1,220 kwh which is that I expected, however, on the Edison Bill is shows only 300 kwh was produced. The saving of installing solar panels for the price of $44,000 as I am only saving about $75 a monthly. I tried to contact the company, phone doesn’t work. I also tried to contact my sales person, have yet to heard back.
I just want someone to communicate with me to help me understanding or fix the issue. There is just no way for me to effectively reach the company.Initial Complaint

The solar installation doesn't correctly align with the intended layout from the construction document (see attached construction document and photo taken from rooftop). Because of this, the layout on the SolarEdge app also doesn't align with what's actually installed, making troubleshooting issues with panels extremely difficult. Sunergy Construction previously assured me they guarantee their workmanship, yet any emails to Sunergy team go unanswered. Their main phone number via their website is also disconnected.
To resolve, I ask that Sunergy coordinate with SolarEdge to ensure that the above issue has been resolved, and the panels shown on SolarEdge app accurately reflect the installation.Initial Complaint

In 2016 these guys installed solar panels on my house. The panels have generated almost no energy for some time, so I finally brought someone in to check them. The microinverters have gone bad, and when I contacted Enphase about the warranty they said my system was ghost system and they were never properly set up. Now I can't use the warranty and can't seem to get a hold of anyone at this company for a response.Initial Complaint

I signed a contract with this company for solar panels on May 11 of 2022. They installed the panels about 2 months after this date. Since then, the panels are not in service. I have been paying to both Edison and the finance company for the panels since then which is around $5,000. I have tried multiple times to reach out to about 4 different people, I have not gotten any resolutions as of yet. I don't get any response to any of my calls, texts, or emails.Business Response

Customer failed battery inspection due to unpermitted windows. We found a secondary location fire was ok with but the customer refused to place in that location. The customer suggested a 3rd location of which we are waiting on fire approval for that new location. Once approved we can move batteries and reinspect.Business Response

Late of 2020 we were approached by a solar company (Sunergy Construction, Inc) offering solar panels. After going back and forth we decided to go ahead and have solar panels installed and roof replaced which was what Sunergy Construction, Inc advised us to do. There were issues from the get go, from installation taking too long, to panels not being turned on to payments not being what they were suppose to be etc. We worked through it and then the big storms of 2023 came. Leaks started to form inside dining area and living room. The phone calls began and I was unable to leave messages or get a hold of anyone. A month went by and the leaks got worse. Reached out to the loan company "Loanpal" (which are still being paid on time) and they were able to finally have someone from Sunergy Construction, Inc call me. Sunergy Construction, Inc sent a roof guy out whom placed tar like substance to cover the leaks and stated Sunergy Construction, Inc would have someone come out once the rain stopped to see where exactly the leaks were. after many telephone calls leaving several messages, here we are 3/13/23 and no one has called or come by to remedy this situation. Homeowner's insurance adjustor has come by and assessed the issue and made a report stating it is an installation problem and advised I follow through with the installation company.Business Response

Mrs ******** was advised that her leak was not related to the solar. We as a courtesy sent a roofer out to verify the origin of the leak. We advised her that we would follow up with her original roofer(Andy) as he is responsible for the repairs. Andy has agreed to meet her onsite Thursday 3/23.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:They have been telling me the same thing for over several weeks. The solar system along with the roof was done with same company (Sunergy). They hired the roofing company, and I am paying for both installations as one loan. Everytime I try to reach Sunergy, the number rings busy or the voicemail is full and I am unable to leave a message. I have tried to text ***** and I get no response.Sunergy has not contacted me and made this appointment. The 3/23/23 date does not work for me for I will be at work and not at home. Had they contacted me then I would have set it for a day and time that I am home. There is damage inside that they need to repair due to the leaks. Therefore they will need to enter the home.Business Response

The roofing company contacted the customer, the leaks are not solar relatedCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I am aware the leaks are not solar panel installation related. They are roof leaks from the new roof that was installed at same time solar panels were installed under the same contract and being paid under same loan.Leaks have not been repaired nor the inside damage. I also had to remove couch since it got wet.
