1 starI got panels added to my existing system. I decided to repeat with semper Solaris. It was a horrible experience this time. Sales and installation were both horrible. They never went over the project with me so it was a surprise when they added two panels versus replacing the inverter making the exterior of my house more cluttered. they kept giving me timelines that they could not meet. there was so much semper Solaris internal communications problems when I would make them accountable where they would point fingers at each other. I tried to reach out to their supervisor, *****, and was told she would call me back in **** minutes. Of course, they never called. Please do not use them. Its not about the installation people. Remember theyll be working on your roof. You think theyll be helpful when u want to use your roof or solar panel warranty? My experience is No. please stay away.Review fromTom G

1 starDO NOT USE SEMPER SOLARIS!Semper Solaris is incompetent! What should have taken 1 month, ended up taking over 7 months, countless calls to a worthless customer service, a letter to the **** and calls directly with PG&E.First, Semper Solaris did not follow their own installation plans that had been approved by the county. As a result, the panels failed inspection. Since the installation crew had already cut the holes (in the incorrect location) in my brand new form roof, they had to re-engineer the entire project. That took over 3 months for the panels to be reinstalled and FINALLY pass inspection. Then they advised that it should have taken approximately **** business days to receive a "Permit to Operate" from PG&E. After 3 months of waiting and dozens of wasted time calls to customer service, I finally called PG&E directly. PG&E advised that Semper Solaris had submitted 6 applications that were rejected. PG&E advised that Semper Solaris had submitted the incorrect form TWICE. Even worse, Semper Solaris told me that PG&E was responsible for the delays. During one call, Semper Solaris even LIED to me and told me the Permit to Operate had been approved when in fact it was rejected. The Permit to Operate was finally issued in 2 days after I wrote a letter directly to the Semper Solaris CEO.It is clear that Semper Solaris' problems span across multiple departments (engineering, permitting, customer service and management). I strongly recommend NOT USING SEMPER SOLARIS FOR YOUR PROJECTReview fromMike H

1 starThis company will leave you hanging, SO BEWARE! They will tell you anything to sell their product but will not stand behind your loss when their product fails. In short, there is no Warranty that puts your system up and running when it fails. So as a result, you spend over $20,000 for their system and they tell you that you will have no electric bills. THAT IS A LIE, SO BEWARE!!! What happens, is the system fails within a 7-year period and they tell you that parts are not available and no telling when they will be available. They tell you that it could be months before it can be repaired. Meanwhile, you are stuck with a system that produces no power and you are paying exorbitant SDG&E bills every month after month after month. That adds up to thousands of dollars, out of your pocket, while you should not be paying one cent. A true warranty will cover your product and your loss due to the product not performing as guaranteed. Giving this misleading company even 1-Star is being gracious. No Semper Fi with this group. So Beware.Review fromStacey G

1 starCan I list negative stars! They claim they are trustworthy and are backed by the military that is why I went with them. I have had issues from day 1! Inspectors come out they (semper ) do not show up. This has happened 4 times. Inspections failed 3 times. Panels installed wired incorrectly. Meantime my electric bills are 400 or higher because taken off the grid. I have taken multiple days off of work because they cannot get their dates right. At the moment still waiting on my solar to be up and running. Panels were wired wrong need to take off and reinstall and call yet another time for inspection. 7 months still no solar. Stay far far away from this incompetent, negligent company.Review fromChristopher W

1 starI had a longer review prepared but this site doesn't allow long reviews to be submitted. Long story short, my battery install started on September and still isn't completed. I incurred $600 in electrical costs during the install process because my existing solar system was taken offline and it's impossible to get updates without making a bunch of noise.Stay away from this company.Review fromMichael B

1 starOne star too many. Worst company I've ever had to deal with. Installs an additional third powerwall in April 2022, during installation techs caused electrical damage to our pond thermostat and UV lamp, fried every outlet and bulbs in the garage because tech had common incorrectly connected. Could have burned down the place. That was repaired and they did take care of that.In June the Tesla powerwall gateway shorted and melted, our entire house power went down. Called on Monday morning and their answer is that someone might be able to come out maybe on Wednesday?? three days without any power is okay by them?Had to complain enough and take it to several levels at Semper for someone to actually come out that Monday to bypass their bad installation just so that we'd have electricity.Semper senior tech discovered loose wiring again, took them three and a half months to replace the fried gateway, in the interim our 36 panel solar system was bypassed, during the heat wave with several SDGE blackouts that should not have affected us because we have solar and powerwalls! This has cost us thousands in electric charges. After replacing the gateway discovered that the batteries are not charging properly or as designed. This was working before the gateway fried by the way. Endless call and emails and reprots at no avail, Semper blaming Tesla while ***** is blaming Semper's installation. !2/19/22 Semper tech comes out, has not been briefed on the issues, gotta **** him through all the history because he had no clue, wastes my time arguing he can find anything wrong while admitting its not working correctly. After he leaves I discover that now the app, the one and only place one can monitor and adjust the batteries stopped working.Asking for help to get this resolved on a daily basis and no one has even the common decency to return my calls or reply to my emails. No one at this company cares, will not get a reply, no updates for days and weeks on end.Review fromAdam S

1 starSemper Solaris promised I would get my install in before the end of the year when I started the process October 5th. I had to follow up every step of the way and hounded them for my install date from November 12th until December 15th where they finally gave me my date, which of course was past January so I will not get the full solar rebate. Clearly they just want to over promise and under deliver and I had to do all the work in between. After finding out all the reviews of the company I should have never even called them in the first place. I am a veteran and try to support veteran owned companies, but clearly this is one you should avoid.Review fromMelonie H

1 starI over paid for my solar. My fault. I was told the monitoring system notifies you if you lose production which is NOT the case. Apparently the $30k I spent was for me to monitor my own system. They did a cell kit upgrade which caused my solar production to stop for almost 4 months. (Hottest months of the year). Now Im stuck with over $800 in electric bills with one person from semper saying theyd reimburse me and then when I get management on the phone they tell me its my fault and they dont reimburse. They then tell me to get reimbursed from the monitoring company and they dont even have a way to communicate. Im ******. Paid $30k for me to do a lot of work on my own. Will not be recommending to any one.Review fromJoshua K

1 starI hired and signed with Semper Solaris in March of 2022. With my city causing some grief during the permitting process, Semper Solaris exacerbated the delay by taking 2 months to submit the proper paper work to the city for permitting. They had to resubmit three times. You would think that such a reputable solar company would have experience with permits with just about every city in ********* county and know what is required. Not only did they cause my project to be delayed 2 months and cause me to miss out on the energy savings during *****'s hottest weeks but I had to personally poke and prod their team to push the process through. There is no one to directly communicate with to follow up on the status of the project. I had to call the city, SDG&E and Enphase on my own to find out the status of the various phases of the install. Their lack of transparency and their dishonestly will lead me to never recommend this company. I have months worth of emails that backup and log the events chronologically. Even though SDG&E approved my permission to operate, I have no idea if I am even sending energy to the grid and getting credits. Find another local company that provides a direct local point of contact and not some call center in another country.***UPDATE*** It looks likes by reading recent reviews I am not the only one being neglected by Semper. I get it, I'm sure there is high demand. If you can't meet the demand, don't sell it. Shame that they promote that this is a veteran owned business.Review fromCynthia A

1 starI wished I looked at this before buying with ****** Solaris. Before we signed up we were told our true up would be no more than $300. After several months I noticed the on **** the projected true up would be $780-800. I called the salesman and he assured us that in summer we are in an upside down , meaning we use more. He said he knew what he was doing and assured us if it was that price was 700 he would add more panels , and even to say he pay our **** because he was so sure. So now to even get a phone call from is nearly impossible. Its seems texting is the new form of talking. Its funny how I was able to contact someone directly in the beginning. Now when I call Im put on hold because they are so busy. After while of holding on, your call is dropped. They say they are veteran owned company, it does not mean anything if you are veteran. The owner should be ashamed of himself calling himself a veteran. Worst customer service when the time is needed.
