      We chose to have our HVAC system replaced by Baker Electric Home Energy due to their excellent reputation and customer reviews. The installation was not done correctly resulting in $40,000.00 damage to our townhouse. Baker Electric Home Energy agreed to be responsible for correcting the damage. The work took approximately four months. In addition to living in a construction zone for four months my daughter had to take time off work to meet with the construction manager. Also she had to place her dog at doggy care at $40.00 a day. Baker Electric Home Energy did not offer to compensate us for her time off of work, travel expenses to and from work to meet the renovation crew, or doggy day care expenses. If you choose to work with Baker Electric Home Energy, beware, you nay end up with a disaster.

      We decided to go with Baker because they promised they were the best in solar. They were quick in obtaining the permits and installing the panels on our roof. However, the actual turning on of the system took some unnecessary time. First time we had the inspection, I was asked to be home as they needed access to my ********* took day off. Inspector came at the allotted time but Baker did not. They decided to come late. When asked they said they had another home they needed to be at. Our inspection was then rescheduled for another 2 weeks. Again, I took another day off. Inspector shows up and we fail inspection. It took a while to figure out what the real reason for failure was because Baker project manager did not show up to the inspection again because he needed to be at another site. He left a worker instead, whom didn't seem to know the reason for failure. Turns out Baker decided to change up design at time of installation making the approved paper plans and the physical design not match. Therefore, again, another delay. By this time we were furious. Third inspection was rescheduled for another 3 and so weeks and Baker did offer to pay for one month's electricity bill to try to compensate their s**** up. Almost 2 months later and we are yet to see this promised electricity compensation. Communication with them is terrible and their accountability is even worst. They try to say it was the city's and the inspector's fault but yet they agreed they changed the design making the plans not match. We had to send numerous emails again and again to get the system running. After 3 inspection, system finally passed and is now on. However, no one compensated me for the time off work, for the multiple month delay, or for the headache of trying to chase them around. Overall, it was a terrible experience. When this was communicated to them, I got nothing but silence. No service recovery and definitely no accountability.

We want this process to be as smooth as possible, but as you can see, it wasn't this time, and we sincerely apologize as this is not the Baker way.

      We had a roof and solar installed. Our experience was excellent . We love the roof the solar went in fast and everything went smoothly. Both the roof team and solar team were great. They cleaned up every day and were on time. They were highly recommend by several people we talked to. And we would absolutely recommend them. They have a great system to keep you informed throughout the process.

      Please read this before buying solar from Baker: I'm a retired senior. I still have to pay close to $1,000 every annual SDGE true-up, even after purchasing a full new solar system (and new roof) from Baker three years ago. They say they "miscalculated" by 6 panels, and I'd need to buy 6 more panels now, at double the cost of what they would've cost when I first hired them to install a complete system in the first place, three years back. They took MONTHS to ******************* my home's system, and nothing with my home has changed since then. I'm utterly flabbergasted that Baker could have miscalculated by six entire solar panels. SIX PANELS. Not one or two. SIX ENTIRE SOLAR PANELS.Every employee I've spoken to at Baker immediately recited a speech about how I originally signed a pre-installation addendum basically forgiving them any error in predicting my home's energy useage needs, and that's true, I did, because Baker would not do the work otherwise. However, as a consumer I think I had good reason to rely that an experienced professional energy company like Baker would not make such a HUGE error in calculation that will affect me negatively for all my years going forward in my home.At the time of the purchase I used my savings to buy the full energy security and safety I needed to be secure for my retirement, from a professional company that has been doing this for years as Baker advertises. Now I'm retired and no longer have the means to purchase additional panels that Baker terribly miscalculated. So now I sit in the dark, I don't use the heater or air conditioner or appliances, and I absolutely live in dread of the annual true-up looming, wondering how I'll be able to pay it each year, and every year now going forward, with increases.Baker has horribly affected and negatively impacted this senior's retirement years. Please, if you're considering using this company, keep doing research. Especially if you're a vulnerable senior trying to prepare your h

      When we install a solar system without at least twelve previous months of electricity bills to reference, Baker and the homeowner together attempt to assume a potential annual consumption based upon their current lifestyle and expected future needs. In this case the homeowners estimated future needs were underestimated. Baker is willing to install the 6 additional needed panels to offset homeowners current excess consumption at a per panel cost equal to the original installation.
