Im filing this complaint because Im extremely frustrated with my experience with Ring. I spent a good chunk of money on their security camera system, including the doorbell camera, and after just one year of working fine, it suddenly stopped functioning. The doorbell is now completely brickedit wont connect to my Wi-Fi, and theres no way to reset it to factory settings. Its basically a useless piece of hardware at this point.I reached out to Rings customer service for help, but their response was beyond disappointing. Instead of offering a real solution, they just told me to buy a new one. Seriously? After spending so much on the system and installation, I expected better support, especially since the product failed after such a short time.This whole situation feels unfair. I trusted Ring to provide a reliable product and decent customer service, but theyve fallen short on both counts. I bought five Ring cameras and a doorbell camera. None of them will connect to the WiFi. I have spent over 20 hrs with technical support to no avail. I tried five more new cameras a chime (was told by support I needed this for the system to work) and a doorbell camera which also will not connect after another 10 hours with technical support. I hired a professional, but they had the same issue!My home was recently robbed and because the cameras aren't working, I have no footage.I am so angry that I have spent over $3,000 on useless equipment. I have requested a full refund several times but have been denied.This is horrible customer service and technical service. I want to purchase a different manufactures system, however I can't afford these because I have spent so much useless money on Ring.I am demanding an immediate and full refund for my purchases.Business Response

The only resolution that the company offered me was to troubleshoot the issue. The reason I filed the claim in the first place is that the company has tried for over six months to troubleshoot it and has said to me the last two times that they are unable to fix it. This is not an acceptable response as clearly they cannot fix the issue.

I am rejecting this response because:
Ring cameras and Ring devices are sold in my area despite Ring stating my area is not supported.I was never informed prior to my purchase that Ring wouldnt provide any technical support to customers in certain areas. Without knowing this, many customers like myself spend thousands of dollars on Ring products just to find this out months later after purchasing when it is too late to return the items to the place of purchase.
it is my feelings that if Ring is profiting off customers purchases of ********************** products in a certain area, they should as a company stand behind their products.
Rings statement that the products be returned to the original resellers for refund is not possible since it has taken Ring 6-7 months to inform me of this and no resellers will take back/or should be expected to take back a product purchased 8 months ago.
Ring is refusing to assist its customers even though they have purchased their product is unacceptable and I feel I should be refunded in the only way possible, through Ring as a company.

I have a defective designed flood light camera unit. The company has sent me refurbished and "new" replacements that also last only a month or two before failing. I asked for a replacement of a different model that I know works because I have it called the ring camera pro but they refuse to send it to me. So I asked for a refund but they refused. They are violation of the magnussun **** act and I want reimbursement before seeking legal action against them. Or they can just send me the cam pro .Business Response

I had a ring door **** annual plan years ago that I cancelled. I no long own the product and move to ****** nest products and every year the rind subscription plan keeps charging my credit card the annual fee on January 28th. I have tried over and over to long back into ring to make double confirm the cancellation from years ago but it says there is no account so there nothing further I can do. Last year I reached out to customer service and they said they have no record of me having a subscription so theres no way to issue a refund so to file a claim with my credit card its a false charge. My credit card did not refund it because they saw I use to be a rind client in the past and to take it up with them. Now this year I got another charge for ***** again. The **** company knows I cancelled so why are they still automatically charging me. I want this resolved with no more debits from my credit card and my money from last year and this year returned back to me.Business Response

I attempted on 1/29/25, to submit 4 requests with footage showing someone at the front door, and wanted to know if my neighbors knew this person! On all 4 attempts, I kept receiving emails REJECTING my post! I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS! I have never had a problem before! I purchased a Ring camera through ******. The camera came with a standard 30 day free subscription trial, and via the purchase through ****** promotion, and additional 6 month free subscription. I was notified that my 30 day trial will expire, but that my 6 month subscription would rollover. I contacted Ring customer service on 12/12/24 and 1/27/25 and learned that I needed to provide my credit card as a condition of the free trial. I was charged 9.99 in January and despite my calls to customer service have not been able to secure the additional 6 months free trial. I have been getting the same, scripted runaround on both customer service calls.Business Response

Ring will not refund me and / or unassociate my credit card from their system because I cannot provide an account email.The account was setup years ago. I do not have the email associated with it. They've told me I cannot proceed without an email. My understanding is that all business can remove a credit card if not from a customer account, *********** payment gateway. My credit card number ends in 6124. I am happy to provide more information about my credit card to have it fully removed from their payment gateway. iF I could be refunded for the service that'd be awesome, too.Business Response

I purchased Ring to record all monitoring for 2022, however a few months in using this service, the Ring doorbell app was not supported on my Galaxy S7 at the time, so I could no longer get notifications when Ring alerted me nor review recordings on my phone. The reason I did not reach out to BBB sooner is because I did not know about this complaint form then. I now have a new phone. I have attached an email I sent Ring support and also my invoice. I am simply asking for a partial refund or a free year subscription because Ring did not place a disclaimer that if my phone is of a certain type or age that Ring app will stop working.Business Response

Also, Ring stopped supporting my device for ********************** app use during my one year paid plan. My last ring camera was defective and they made me purchase a new one since it was out of the warranty period. Upon installing my new device, the camera has been missing close to 30% of the events. My last camera which was the same model never did this. I performed a factory reset and tried adjusting the sensitivity to the maximum. My device continued to malfunction. Upon calling customer support they assured my that my device was working properly. After explaining to them that it was not they agreed to do a warranty exchange. The customer service *** had me on hold for an hour and said that she was attempting to have their logistics department send me a new one. After an hour she said that she needs to transfer me now to logistics. After being connected the logistics person just disconnected the call and did not attempt to call me back. This is my 3rd time calling in without the issue being resolved.Business Response

Their "Ring ******************** Adapter (USB-C)" stopped working after just a couple of months, for no apparent reason (no physical damage or abuse, nor any visible sign of failure beyond not providing any power).I contacted their customer support and was told that:(a) I need to own a Ring camera and subscribe to their service in order to receive support for *any* of their products.(b) They don't provide any warranty on "accessories" such as USB cables.I was able to force my way past (a), but they refused to budge on (b).Their own website (******************************************************************************) explicitly states that the product comes with a one year warranty (*******************************************), as does their Amazon product listing (********************************************), and the box includes a printed copy of the warranty.Unfortunately, I was left with no recourse with them - they flat-out refused to acknowledge the warranty, nor provide any repair or replacement for the faulty product.Ring should:(a) Honour their own expressed warranty.(b) Stop lying to customers about warranties and warranty status.(c) Follow relevant state or federal laws regarding warranties (either California implied warranty law or MagnusonMoss etc).Tangentially, they suggested taking the matter up with their parent company, ******, but ****** refuses to provide any post-purchase support since the product was purchased more than a month ago.
