On 12/3/2024 I activated my professional monitoring service with ring. I bought one of the cameras from ****** which gave me a free subscription for 6 months. (I had bought another ring camera from another store that gave me free 3 months.)The email said my free subscription will end on 6/14/25 and then they would start charging my credit card.On 3/27/25 I received an email saying the service had ended with no charges made to my card but monitoring was discontinued. I made a phone call that lasted close to an hour. I was told I would get an email and then someone would be calling me to resolve issue. I got the initial email on 4/11 and then got an email on 4/30 letting me know that the issue was resolved with no explanation as to what was resolved. I am very upset that no one called me as I was told. Called again on 5/8 and again was on the phone for an hour. This time I was passed on to a second ****** who said she will rebate me 10 dollars as couldnt extend the date of the 6/14 deadline but couldnt get me back on professional monitoring. I had to go to a meeting so she gave me a number to call when I had time. I called today and got a gentleman who tried to help but again had no solution and promised to work on it and update ***** after 3 phone calls- money spent on 6 cameras and a handyman bill to hang I have nothing. My home is not safe. I need a resolution. They were not willing to turn on professional monitoring to keep me and my family safe until they resolved the billing issue. On the first phone call I asked her to start billing me so I could get safety for my family and resolve the issue of billing later but she declined.Business Response

************************** is utilizing deceiving marketing practices to DOUBLE their monthly fee. In 2025, ************************** sent an email to its customers opting them in to the $19.99/month service. Their 'script' is that you should have opted out from the email that was sent. I finally found the email in my junk box. It should be illegal to force consumers into opt-in services that double their fees. This practice is unethical and it's used in marketing as a 'bait' practice. People will not want to spend the time, call their credit card company, bank, and ring customer service, and they know this. This is a blatant attack on its customers. Please investigate, I can't imagine seniors etc. getting scammed by ************************** when they send vast amounts of emails on a monthly basis.Business Response

Myself and others of the community are consistently getting our posts denied about a local church blaring bass from their parking lot outside of legal hours. At this point we have gone over all criteria needed for both Safety Incidents and Ask a Question and we have done everything to the ** We are consistently getting denied. Who reviews the post? Is the member of the team local. I will see mine get denied and then post immediately go up that blatantly goes against the acceptable standard. Ring Doorbell has been submitting fraudulent charges to my credit card. Attempts to get reimbursed have failed. I also wanted to downgrade service and the customer service people refused to help me get that done. Wish Id never invested in Ring.Business Response

My Ring Floodlight Camera is defective. I have a Ring monitoring plan which covers all of my Ring devices.On March 1st, I called to troubleshoot my Floodlight Camera and was told that it would need to be replaced. I asked that the device be a White version, which is the same as the defective device. However I was sent a brown color device which will not match the siding on my home. I called to let them know that the wrong color was sent and was told that the white version was not in stock and to keep checking back to see when it is back in stock. I have been calling back weekly, however I am told the white version still is not in stock. I checked ************************** and I can purchase a new white floodlight camera and have it delivered in a few days. When I tell this to the customer service representative, they said it is a different warehouse. All I want is to get the white version of the came so I can install it.Business Response

I have a Ring doorbell. The doorbell was always flaky and today we noticed a protective layer peeling off by itself. The video is now completely blurred and is a security threat for us. The quality of the door bell is so poor that it could not even withstand Georgia weather. This is not what was expected from Ring. I have other external IOT devices at home and in my other investments and there has absolutely been no problem. I need a replacement ASAP as this is a defective device and looks to be a very common issue.Business Response

I had an extensive conversation with ******* about my purchase and he asked was the purchase made on **************************. I told him I purchased from ******, ******* then stated that the purchase needed to be placed on ************************** he said it needed to be a bundle package to get free installation. He assured me I had the right devices for a bundle that would get a free installation. I gave him the order # and looked it up and verified the bundle and said I would receive a free installation. ******* advised me to call back to set up my installation when I received the devices. I received the devices on *********** called to set my appointment. I was told by ***** my order wasn't the correct bundle for a free installation. I asked ***** to review the conversation with *******, ***** said she could not find the call from 4.26.25 insinuating that I wasn't telling the truth so I asked for a manager, it took a long time for her to connect me with a manager. ***** finally finds the recorded call and I asked her did she ***** ******* tell me I had a bundle that would give for a free installation and she said I didn't listen to the conversation. I asked what the point was of find the call and chose not to listen to the recording. ***** said I would receive a call back from a manager. I got a call back from ****** acknowledged that ******* didn't give accurate information. I told ****** that my free installation should be honored because it was not my fault, I got wrong information, he could of interjected and provide the correct information because that was his job. I have had the same subscription plan for years. Yesterday Ring decided to change my plan without my permission. They added professional monitoring which doubled my cost. Details:I have been a loyal Ring customer for several years, consistently maintaining a protection plan on my devices. In 2021, ********************** changed their service structure without my consent, converting my existing paid plan into a trial version under the new plan format. I was not informed that this would void my warranty or require immediate action on my ******* a result of this plan change:There was a brief service interruption caused solely by Rings internal ************** no point did I request a cancellation or voluntarily allow my coverage to lapse.I resumed full paid service immediately after the trial period without knowledge that my extended warranty had been *********** continued subscription payments were accepted without any notice from Ring about my warranty status changing.When my device developed a defect, Ring initially acknowledged the issue, and a representative told me a replacement would be arranged after verifying the history. However, Ring later reversed course and offered only a 35% discount code toward purchasing a new device, despite clear evidence I maintained service in good faith.Throughout my multiple interactions with Rings customer support (both chat and phone), I explained the situation, shared proof, and asked for the warranty to be honored. Supervisors acknowledged the plan change but refused to correct the outcome. Their only justification was a technicality a 2-day lapse caused by their plan adjustment and trial expiration without accepting their role in creating the issue.This is not only unfair but deceptive: Rings internal handling of plan changes led to a bait-and-switch, allowing them to collect years of service payments while later denying the agreed-upon warranty protections.Resolution Requested:Immediate replacement of the defective device under the original warranty terms,OR Full refund of the purchase price of the device and service fees paid since 2021Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.After escalating my warranty dispute with Ring, I was contacted by an Executive Resolution Specialist. We reviewed my account history in detail, including a lapse in my Ring protection plan that occurred when the company transitioned me to a different plan with a trial period in 2021. I maintained that I never intentionally canceled my plan and that Ring initiated the change, which unintentionally resulted in a brief service lapse that voided my warranty.
Although Ring maintained that their system could not distinguish who initiated the lapse and could not restore warranty coverage due to policy limitations, they acknowledged my frustration. As a goodwill gesture, they agreed to replace the out-of-warranty camera in question. I accepted this resolution and confirmed my shipping address. A follow-up was promised to ensure I receive and set up the replacement device.
This resolution does not fully address the broader concerns I raisedspecifically, how short lapses are handled or how systemic issues in their plan transition process may affect other customersbut I am satisfied with the specific replacement offer for now.

On April 26, 2025 I changed internet providers so I needed to up m y new wifi network. My ring video door bell is wired and mounted to my door. In order to change wifi I would have to dismantle the ring to get the pin number. I was not able to do that so I called customer service and had been on hold for one hour only for the representative to tell me she was waiting on a service tech to get the code. After an hour she said I would receive a call when the tech get back with her. This is truly unacceptable for such a small matter. At this point I may have to get service from another provider because my ring is not working.Business Response
