on May 5th of this year I was calling around to get quotes for car insurance for my son. He recently moved to ******* ** from CA. I was told by Esurance that I would have to get him new insurance for **. I called Allstate, the General, Zebra, Liberty Mutual then I called Freeway. A guy answered identifying himself from Freeway. I told him that I needed to get full coverage for my son and gave him the other info that he asked for. He told me to hang on and he would see how much it would be. He came back on the phone and he said it would be $103.02 and that they also needed $170 for a down payment. Then come to find out that the $170 went to SSB services. At no time did he tell me that they were going to brokered it out. They also didn't tell me that Progressive required documents that they needed which almost lead me to getting my insurance stopped. I thought I was getting insurance from Freeway. I had just noticed that my 2nd payment went to Progressive. I wonder about that, I had called a lot of insurance companies, so I figured I just didn't remember. I found out about this by accident, I was looking at my bank account and saw a $30.98 amount and at first I thought Progressive had taken this out of my checking account. But it was a refund because they were going to stop my son's insurance due to not getting some paperwork, It was due by the 24th which is tomorrow. Thank goodness I got that straightened out. I inquired why they put that I had only paid $207.52. I told them what about the $170. They didn't know anything about that. So I went to my checking account and looked up the $170 and called the phone that was on my account and the people who answered the phone was Freeway. I would have never pay them if they would have told me the truth. They lied to me. They totally misrepresented themselves.Business Response

We contacted **************** and advised Freeway and SSB Insurance is the same agency. However we apologized that our agent did not disclose this. We advised a refund of $170 is going back in form of a check to the mailing address on file. Refund will take from 2 to 3 weeks to be delivered. They insured a person for a 2016 **** fusion using my home address. Tried calling them hung up on me because I told him this is fraud. I dont know who this person is. I tried calling Bristol west insurance group they didnt do anything either.Business Response

We removed ************************** address from our system and from the Carrier's system. We sent proof to ********************* of the change. If she receives another notice we advised her already that it maybe because the carrier sent it prior to the update in the address. 0n June 2nd 2023 Seguros sin bareras unwillingly stole $150 out of my account. I never had or got insurance from this company in my life , never heard of this company I live in a different state and I already have insurance. This is fraud and I would like my money that they stole from my account back. I dont even know how they got my account information I never gave it to this company.Business Response

Today 3.17.2022 this company took ****** from my account. I have never spoken to this company in my life, I have farmers insurance for my cars and house. I never ever had a policy with them nor did I ever call them, I got their information from my bank when they stole money out of my account. I had to open an investigation and cancel my debit card with ***** Fargo to get my money back. This company is a fraud, I don't know how they got my information but I will be getting my money back. On Feb 17, 2023 I called in to Freeway insurance looking for quotes and was told Id be transferred to someone in my area (Virginia) but instead was sent to SSB who I was told is based out of ********** by the rep. **** have charged me twice after I never agreed to moving forward with a policy one time for $170 and today again for $263. I never signed any documents except a cancellation form. The rep I was speaking to went as far as asking my to text a photo of my account and routing number. I immediately hung up. These are thieves and scam artist. I now have to get lawyers involved because I dont trust they will make a refund happen as originally promised. My goal is to get this business shut down. Do not go here for any of your needs. The reps are very unprofessional and I cant believe I was scammed this way in my time of need. These are not humans these are money hungry monsters praying on innocent victims.Business Response

I called freeway auto insurance to inquire about an sr22. They connected me to this company on 09/17/2022. I believed I was in great hands. They quoted me cheaper than anyone at ***** for the sr22as well as the liability on a vehicle. I purchased the policy and thought everything was fine. I immediately look at my back account and Im charged an extra $180. I of course call back and speak with ****** my agent and she insured me it was accidental and will receive a refund . Within 3 business days. The refund never came and they stopped responding. *** tried to contact them several times as I was able to purchase the car so I wanted the liability taken off as well as they have my name incorrectly on the policy . They answer the phone and immediately place you back on hold. Ive sent an email to their customer care multiple times no response. I finally disputed with my bank. They tell my bank I signed up for some motor club WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE. I was never even presented with that info nor given any paperwork concerning it. BAD BUSINESS STAY AWAY FROM BOTH COMPANIES. Very upset. I need my sr22 to keep my license valid so Im stuck paying for liability on a car I dont even own! On July 20th, I called what I thought was Freeway Insurance, but somehow got hooked up with this Seguros Sin Barreras, (which I was never informed of) A guy who said his name was only, "******" said that he would get one of his "professionals" to get my insurance.The first question I was asked was, "Do you have a valid credit card or checkcard".I was then put on hold, for what seemed an eternity, when a lady came on to get my policy started. She took all my information, and stated that the policy would be, $172.00, and the down payment would be $42.60. Toward the end of the call, I had to ask her when my payment would be taken out of my account. She said the $42.60 would be taken out of my account on the 20th of each month, going forward. NEVER, did she say that they would be stealing $130.00, only 2 weeks later, on July 31rst!These people are a real work of art! I am appalled, to be blatantly lied to and being stolen from!Please help! I am elderly and live on a fixed income and am sick over all this!
