Worst place ever to conduct a background check with. These people literally do no work and my background check is taking longer than it should because they are having ME provide all documents relating to job, education, military service, etc. The documents being requested are things they could EASILY get if they tried. They were unable to verify almost everything on my application so far and when Ive followed up with previous employers to see if they were contacted they werent! They couldnt verify my time in the Army. What?! Then I get an email just now saying they cant verify my education from a county Ive never even heard of AND they want proof of my self employment.. Ive NEVER BEEN SELF EMPLOYED AND NEVER SAID I HAVE. I can see this company making people lose jobs over their laziness and poor operation. Its obvious they do not truly do that work to get a background check, I have had atleast 20 background checks in my past with not a single issue. BEWARE. They need to be shut down because they are taking money from employers that they dont deserve based on the minimal effort they provide to verify employees.HireRight

DO NOT!!! Resign from your current job until your investigation from HireRight is concluded. After a job offer, I went through the entire process which is similar to manually entering your entire work history into a company's antiquated hiring portal. A day later I get a computer-generated email about needing additional information. Several request later they now have my first and most current paystub as well as my W-2. This is still not good enough. It is obvious HireRight is some AI driven data mining company which generates reports for clients based on analytics. If the "number's" that represent you fit into their algorithm correctly you will have no problem. If they do not, then it is like fixing an error on you FICO credit score, they don't care, and it will shorten your life in the process. I, thankfully, did not resign premature and told the hiring company never mind. If they use products like this imagine what it's like once you're in. As far as I'm concerned, I dodged a bullet.If you have had a similar issue, I highly suggest you contact your Attorney General like I did and submit a complaint. It's very easy and do it online to insure its added directly to their database. They do keep records on this stuff and once a history is built, they love making examples of companies like this.HireRight

I canceled our account with them back in May due to how horrible their billing department is and they have continued to bill us. I can't get ahold of anyone to discuss it and anytime I send an email, I automated response saying due to covid we are short staffed and to allow 5 business days for a response, but that response never comes.HireRight

Yes I agree with the many poor reviews given here. I provided a lot of information to the company but they kept telling me nothing was acceptable. I get it, you have company policies that don't allow for certain situations. However when you are providing a service to client and you are delaying or harming others by not doing your job well I think taking another look at your policies should be in ******************, if you like bad reviews due to horrible policies that make your employee's inept or too apathetic to pursue quality results... That is on you.I'm a good and understanding person though, so if I'm giving you the option to make this right. I hope to see someone assist me with resolving my complaint.HireRight

In the onboarding process with GEICO, I was asked to provide W2s or a **** to confirm employment after a mere business day after submitting paperwork for the background check process. It is as if this company made a single phone call to the HR Department of the job reference I provided and did not get through so came back at me. Extremely unethical, inferior service and illegal. They are attempting to gather prior wage information which is illegal in **********. I've noticed other complaints have the same theme.HireRight

This is a company that is responsible for my background check for a future employer. Company's website does not give me an option to send any additional info except downloading documents to my account. There is no access to discuss a progress of my account with a live person except a chat that does not help at all. My past employer could not get a person to give my references: the call back nr they provide for references does not work. "The representative" have called me once and the connection was so bad I could not understand what hey were saying. The person confirmed the phone call had come form *****. In addition, the person couldn't even communicate in English and that probably why the do not take live calls. When trying to call back the number to continue the conversation I was only able to leave multiple messages with my call back number but I have never been contacted. Also, when I emailed them instructions how to obtain my verification of employment(!) all the feedback I got was the same generic outgoing email suggesting lack of any coordination between the employee (mine) account and all the emails I had sent. I am sure they charge a lot of money for the services but it is very frustrating for a future employee to go through this process.HireRight

This company calls me day and night to verify employees from companies I've never heard of and when I ask the to stop the next day different person calls from a different number. Seriously I've blocked 10 numbers now. This is harassment!!! Stop!!HireRight

They are one of the worst of not the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. They did a background check on and included a whole other person on background check with a different name. They stated that the names were similar so they included it in their reporting which makes no sense. Why would the company then ask for my DL #, SSN, Paystubs, W-2s then not do the necessary work. This is definitely criminal work by them. It also seems all their is outsourced since you are not able to reach anybody that can actually help.HireRight
