Hello ***** and thanks for posting. It is important to clarify that we settled one of your debts less than 3 months after you hired us. The debt was settled in installments, and the creditor will continue to send bills showing the full balance due until the final payment on the installment is made. According to our records, only 1 installment remains for that settlement to be paid in full. Please contact us if you require further clarification.Review fromRuth W

I could copy past several of the negative reviews. But instead, I will chronologically list my experience each day. I was to recieve a call back yesterday, and as usual, didn't - because as stated by others, they take your money, then say you are not approved for a loan. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they knew that from the beginning...when you stop making payments and your credit drops 200 points in 6 months time. All the while they are making 27% plus. Let me put that in perspective - $4,000 for 12 months work of paying off only 1 debt out of 8 and "negotiating" another. Then, after applying for the loan 2 times, the 2nd time, I questioned, and they said I was approved for $13,000, but needed to $14,100. I said I'll pay the difference, so I did. I gave them $1,100 to be able to get the loan and truly consolidate my debt and get my bills paid off and my credit score back up sooner, and get out of Guardian, BUT they say that FreshStart didn't approve me and FreshStart says they won't let me out of the program yet, I need more money for the loan. As of today, they wouldn't talk to me, and said someone would have to call me back. So, before giving a negative review, hopefully, this will turn positive. I'll let you know as soon as I get that call back.Guardian Litigation Group

Hello ******, and thanks for posting. We spoke with you on September 19, 20 and 21 and called you back on every occasion as requested. We will continue to do exactly what we said we would do. You hired us in 6/2022 to negotiate and settle $21,275 of your unsecured debt during an estimated program term of 48 months. Putting this in perspective, you are 29% into your program term and we have settled 59% of your enrolled debt. We are currently on pace to settle your debts as per our initial estimate. When you retained our firm, you understood that we are not a lender. We also confirmed that you knew there was no guarantee that you would be approved for a loan in the future. Notwithstanding, the debt settlement acceleration loan companies that we partner with do not rely heavily on credit scores when reviewing loan applications. They look at other factors that vary dependent on the lender, such as timeliness of program deposits, mortgage delinquency, and income, to name a few. We are not privy to their exact processes and cannot impact their decisions. With that said, you spoke with one of our supervisory personnel today and were already connected with another lender. Regardless of the outcome of your next loan application, you are well on your way to getting debt free within the time that we originally anticipated. Our commitment to getting you out of debt has not changed!Review fromKathy H

I began dealing with this company, they took out almost $600 a month for a few months before even settling one debt. Mean while, my credit score plummeted. Which I expected, but I was told the amount they were taking was to settle all three accounts. Then they tell me they cannot settle with the other two because I didn't have enough money in my account. I then took those two accounts out of the equation to deal with on my own. I now am attempting to close my account with them and I was on the phone for over two hours and placed on hold multiple times with no satisfaction. When the case manager got back on phone to talk with me he could not hear me and I had to hang up and he had to call me back. The last time he did not call me back and I again had to call, placed on hold for quite awhile before talking with a person,, I can say Thank God he was better to talk with even though he continues to say that he can not cancel my account until I pay them about $1280. Do not use this company, find a company that does not ask for money in advance.Guardian Litigation Group

Hi and thank you for the opportunity to respond. We would like to clarify some inaccuracies in your review. Our firm was hired on 1/24/23 to negotiate and settle over $36,000 in unsecured debt over the course of an estimated program term of 48 months. On 4/6/23 only 2.5 months into your program term - we negotiated the settlement of approximately 31% of that debt. Although only 4% of your program term had transpired, we had already placed nearly 1/3 of your debt under settlement. When you inquired about settlement of your other debts, we informed you that your funds were currently being used towards payment of the first settlement but that those funds would be freed up for the next account soon. We also reviewed the fact that we had deferred the collection of our fee to expedite settlement of that large debt for you, but you refused to compensate our firm for the services we provided. Our supervisory personnel have already reached out to you to address your concerns and will be reaching out to you again today. Please make sure you take our call so that we can finalize your disengagement.Review fromBrian C

I enrolled yesterday unfortunately before reading any reviews, which then left me feeling uncomfortable with this company. After numerous times of attempting to contact them through the phone, I was finally connected to an agent and I explained that after some research and a talk with my family I was no longer interested in their services and requested to cancel. After about 30 plus minutes of them trying to convince me to keep their services and asking me numerous times why my reason was for canceling I stated that I just didnt want their services and wanted to cancel. I also told them that in the email that they made me digitally sign it states that I only have 3 days to cancel, however on the phone I was told that the cancel process will take take between 5-7 days meaning that if thats not true Id already be passed the 3 day period that allows me to cancel. I didnt receive a confirmation email stating that my account was actually cancelled, therefore to protect myself I need to go out and fax and mail them a copy of my notice of right of rescission through express mail so they can receive it before 3 days and I dont get any unwanted surprises in the future. I regret wrapping myself up in this mess and now stressed out over the possible outcome of fraud or a scamGuardian Litigation Group

Dear BBB:Thank you for the opportunity to respond. ********************** signed an agreement on 9/6/23. On 9/7/23 he called us to cancel the engagement. His cancelation was verbally confirmed and written confirmation was sent via text message. We believe this was handled expediently and professionally. The Notice of Rescission form that we are required by law to use mentions a 3-day cancelation period. However, our agreement can be terminated at any time prior to settling a debt with no charge or penalty. We do not charge a fee until we perform the services outlined in our contract. We wish ********************** the best in his future endeavors.Review fromNikki D

Less than 1 star. This is not a debt consolidation co. Or a company that offers help and relief. They do not explain their terms up from. I felt scammed and I was. They only settle one account at a time (took them 5 months to settle one account) and they pay themselves first before they settle another account. Their fees are so high, youre better off settling w/ your own accounts. Guardians employees are all over the place with providing answers, they tell you what you want to hear so they can pay themselves another month before people figure out their scam. I learned the hard way. Please do your own research first.Guardian Litigation Group

Hi *****, thank you for your comments. During our initial quality control call, we explained that our program was not a consolidation or a loan and that you had hired us to settle your debt for less than what you owe. You expressed verbal understanding and provided recorded authorization of same. We also detailed the fee that we would charge once debts are settled. In addition to your verbal confirmation, we presented these terms to you in writing. You acknowledged them by executing the relevant sections of our contract. Although you were only 12% into your 4 year program term, we had already settled 22% of your enrolled debt. Your program was progressing as scheduled and we firmly believe that, had you continued, we would have settled your debts in accordance with the original estimates we provided to you when you hired us. We are sorry that you decided not to continue your engagement, Regardless, we wish you the best while you continue your journey to becoming debt free.Review fromMatthew J

If I could give ZERO stars i would. I enrolled on 8/3. After sleeping on it and realizing this was a terrible idea, I cancelled the next day. After confirming that my account was cancelled, I even followed up with the person who enrolled me. That person said they had received my cancellation request and no further correspondence was needed.Sure as h*** enough, my checking account was debited almost $500 on 8/11 which would have been my first payment.Clearly, these people dropped the ball and now Im forced to spend even more time on the phone trying to figure out WHY. Why was my account debited when I cancelled my enrollment? Why was my account debited when the person I spoke with assured me it would not be when I cancelled? What if that money was needed immediately for groceries for my children? Or gas for my car so I can go to work? Or my electric? This is absolutely infuriating and appalling.Whats worse is this is a west coast company so I now have to wait hours before I can even speak with anyone. Whats worse is Im sure itll be days if not weeks before I see that $500 again. DO NOT LOOK INTO THIS BUSINESS. I dont care how much debt you have. These people are not here to help you. Theyre here to line their own pockets, assure you that your debt is being taken care of (when its really sitting there accumulating) and then s******* you if you decide to get out from underneath their thumb. Disgusting.Guardian Litigation Group

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to ****************** and are sorry to hear about his experience. Sadly, we received notification of his decision to cancel the agreement too late to stop the scheduled transaction. Fortunately, ****************** did not incur any overdraft fees because of the error. If he had, we would have taken care of that for him. To clarify, our customer service department is available from 9am-8pm EST. We have helped thousands of individuals get out of debt. There is no incentive for our firm to do nothing while debt accumulates. If we do not settle debts for our clients, we do not earn a fee. Thank you,Guardian Litigation GroupReview fromAustin C

I can only get five stars because Ive just started but so far they have responsive to all of my questions and clearly you have to be making the deposits for them to be able to make settlement if there is no money in the account where you are putting aside savings to pay the debt obviously it does not work so far, I have only made one deposit and will make another as I got a letter right when I started the program about some thing going to court and right away they are calling them and helping me so you have to know exactly what this program does and how it works And be willing to put the money in every single month personally, I do not have the time to try to deal with all of this myself. I find it too stressful and Im focusing on getting back on my feet and working hard so I am appreciative of the help .Guardian Litigation Group

Dear ************:Although your wife executed an agreement and verbally agreed to set funds aside in a separate savings account, no deposit was ever made. One of our supervisors confirmed this with her during a phone call on 7/20/23. Her engagement was canceled in accordance with her wishes and her bank account was never debited. Should she require documentation evidencing this feel free to contact us. We do wish you both the best of luck in getting debt free.Sincerely,Guardian Litigation GroupReview fromChar W
