We had a solar panel system installed on a house that we owned. Two of our daughters lived there while attending college. The solar panel system was leased through EnFin. When both had graduated, we attempted to sell the house and transfer the solar lease. EnFin denied the transfer request because the house was being purchased by the ******************. Although the buyer fully committed to signing the lease agreement in their personal name, EnFin denied the transfer because the title of the house did not have the buyer's personal name on it. No such requirement was discussed by sales representative or at the time of signing. No specific language in the original contract stated that this as a requirement. We tried to work with EnFin repeatedly, but were stonewalled by representatives, our suggestions and solutions were completely ignored and not even acknowledged, and no adequate resolution was found. This obstruction proved an incredibly damaging and difficult impediment in the sale of the house and vastly overstepped EnFin's control over our property rights. On top of that, only email communication was available, with no phone support or chat for the transfer, so we were never able to directly talk with a representative. All we asked is that the lease be transferred to new owner in their own personal name while allowing the house to stay under the ****

    Dear ****** *****,

We appreciate the opportunity to address this concern and provide clarity. EnFin's internal policy generally limits transfers to transferees who represent that they are or will be on the title of the home, and the new obligor must execute an agreement transfer with EnFin. Our internal policy is intended to address the following concerns:

Ensure a clear, enforceable chain of responsibility for system maintenance and payment obligations
Maintain alignment with utility and interconnection requirements that presume a resident end user
Preserve consistency with warranty protections and consumer protections based on residential use

The PPA's intent is to ensure the system and contract remain with the residential property and transfer to a party who both owns and resides at the home, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operation and utility interconnection of the solar system. The buyer in this case was unwilling to appear on the title.

The transfer request does not align with EnFin's internal policies and the intended residential use of the PPA.

    Sincerely,
    EnFin Corp

Enfin started loan without approval of payment due date. No one discussed with me when the loan would actually start. Signed documents in October of 2024, loan was activated on May 14th after receiving PTO(permission to operate). I was not given the chance or the opportunity to approve payment date. I spoke with four different representatives at enfin and they have all told me different stories.

My experience with this company has raised significant concerns about their lending practices, which I believe are predatory. I entered into a financing agreement with EnFin with the expectation of manageable payments and a fair interest rate. However, after making nine payments, I have discovered that I now owe more than the original loan amount due to the high-interest rates applied to my account. This situation is alarming and has placed me in a financially burdensome position that I did not anticipate. The terms of the loan were not adequately explained to me at the time of signing, and I feel misled about the actual cost of financing my solar panels. The interest rate appears excessively high, and the structure of the payments has resulted in a negative amortization scenario, where I owe more despite making consistent payments. I have attempted to resolve this issue directly with EnFin through customer service channels, but my concerns have not been satisfactorily addressed. The lack of transparency in their lending practices and the resulting financial strain have left me feeling taken advantage of. I urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate EnFin's practices and hold them accountable for what I believe to be predatory lending. Consumers must be protected from such practices, especially when financing renewable energy solutions that are intended to benefit the environment and promote sustainability.

Yes, I signed up for panels and battery pack. The install tech came over to do installation. Everything was working good until one day 5 of my rooms the whole electricity went out? We have only had this new system for one month(April/May 2025). The other rooms work just fine. We believe that the installer might have tripped the electrical wiring somehow causing the outage. Our inside panel box has been checked and there's no issues...but we have been without electricity in those 5 rooms for going on 2 weeks now...we have called to complain about it getting fixed and absolutely nothing has been done to resolve it...I keep getting the runaround...I'm upset, disappointed, and now feeling regretful for signing into this massive loan...it needs to be resolved before I consider to take legal action. Thank you.

Nature of Complaint: Misrepresentation, Delayed Installation, and Exploitation of Elderly Consumer The consumer entered into a contract with the solar panel company near the end of 2024, but installation did not occur until February or March 2025. Prior to signing, the salesperson gave verbal assurances later found to be false. The consumer even received utility bills before the system was operational and expressed concern, but messages sent to the sales representative went unanswered. After installation, issues arose such as screws and latches falling off the panels. When the consumer reported this, they were dismissed and made to feel their concerns were invalid. Although the contract includes a cancellation period, it had already expired by the time the panels were installed, leaving no fair option to cancel after problems were discovered. The salesperson also falsely claimed the system would provide 100% energy coverage, which was untrue. The consumer made multiple attempts to have the system removed and the issue addressed, but communications were consistently ignored, appearing to be a tactic to trap the consumer in the contract. The situation worsened when the elderly consumer suffered a severe stroke. When family members reached out on the consumers behalf, they were told the homeowner was being dramatic, despite the serious medical condition. This response was both unprofessional and **************** is clear this company misled and took advantage of an elderly, inexperienced homeowner. The consumer requests a formal review, removal of the panels, and cancellation of the contract. Text message documentation is available to support this complaint.

Date: November 26, 2024 A complaint has been filed against ************************ that installed a Solar system to our home. This complaint is against EnFin Finance, which approved the loan. We were first told that the Solar Panels would cost $52,000, then $40,000. However, we were misled to believe that with the $12,296.73 rebate, we were assured by BYLDBETTER that these panels would only cost us $28,692.27, which is inaccurate. We were unaware that a $12,296,73 balloon payment would be due 18 months after the start of payments. (The rebate is the exact same amount as the balloon payment) which brings the price right back to $40,000. In the end, the total price would amount to $67,000.We were misled on the total cost of the system, and feel, as senior citizens, we are being taken advantage of.I sent an email to EnFin Finance - Tue, Apr 8, 12:06PM.I wanted to keep you informed. I understand that the due date of the loan is approaching; however, the solar system is not operational.I've reached out to EnFin Finance, who said they are doing an investigation. The only thing I've heard was when they called me for more information. I did hear from a BYLDBETTER representative that they won't cancel the contract, and that we would be responsible for the payments without the solar system. They also stated that they have been talking with EnFin Finance, stating, they were going to put a lien on our home.

I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction with ENFINs ongoing failure to complete a subordination request that has now been submitted four separate times by both myself and my mortgage company. I have submitted this request electronically, followed up by phone, and my mortgage lender has also submitted it directly on my behalf. Despite using every available channel and being repeatedly assured that the issue would be escalated, there has been no follow-through or resolution. This lack of responsiveness and professionalism is unacceptable. As a result of this delay, I am now at risk of losing my locked in interest rate for my mortgage refinance, something that could have been avoided had ENFIN handled this request in a timely and efficient manner. I am formally requesting immediate action to resolve this matter and to ensure the subordination is completed without further delay.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/14/2025

Dear Mr. ******************* you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delays and frustration you've experienced throughout the subordination request process.
We understand how important timely handling of this matter is, particularly given the potential impact on your mortgage refinance and locked-in interest rate. We acknowledge the multiple attempts you and your mortgage lender made to submit the request, and we regret that the process did not meet your expectations or our service standards.
Please be assured that we have taken immediate steps to resolve the issue. As of today, the subordination agreement has been printed for signature and will be shipped using the label you provided. This action has been prioritized to ensure there are no further delays.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for the opportunity to address and resolve this matter. Should you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out directly.

I was sold solar panels on 1/18/2024 by Enfinergy and financed through Enfin. I was told the total price each month would be $140 until September of 2025 when it was reamotize if I applied my whole tax credit to it. That being done it would make the payments remain $140, otherwise it would go up to $205 a month. I did not receive a loan estimate or good faith estimate within 3 days of application, or ever. What they did NOT disclose to me is the $140 they are taking by *** each month does not even cover the interest and in order to do that I would need to pay the entire $205 a month now. By September when it changes I would have only paid interest and not all of it, leaving my balance about $2000 higher than the original loan amount. When I went to do my taxes I was told I was not eligible for the entire amount because it is more than I owed. So now I can.t put money from taxes like I was told I could and will continue to be screwed over by this company.

    Dear Kristine Viator,

Thank you for contacting us about your recent experience. We
apologize for any inconvenience, and take your feedback seriously. A review of
our records shows that sometime in January 2024, you completed a loan
confirmation call with our agent. During that call, the loan terms and
conditions were reviewed with you, including the introductory period and any
tax credit for which you may be eligible. In addition, the loan payment timing
and application were addressed in the loan agreement.
EnFin believes it acted in accordance with our loan agreement and
industry standards. We remain available to provide any further information as
needed. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

    Sincerely,

the loan terms were not accurately described to me. It was never explained to me that the price I would be paying for two years is actually LESS than what is owed the first two years resulting in my loan amount now being HIGHER than originally. I would have never agreed to those terms.

In 2024-10-18, a salesperson named ****** came to my home claiming to represent Freedom Forever, a reputable solar installer. Later, another representative named **** visited and walked me through the contract. They assured me:That I was signing up with Freedom Forever; That I could cancel the lease at any time without penalty; That the monthly payment would remain at $61 if I paid on time, despite the 2.99% annual escalation written in the contract; That no removal fees would be charged if I ever wanted to stop using the system. These verbal promises were all false. The contract turned out to be with EnFin, not Freedom Forever. It is a 25-year lease with no early termination clause, no buyout option in the first five years, and high removal ************ electricity bills increased after the system was installed, and I am now locked into an agreement that provides no financial benefit, based on misleading and fraudulent sales tactics.EnFin acknowledged my complaint but is refusing to commit to a resolution timeline. I have also filed a formal complaint with the ******************************************************* (Case #****-02779).I am requesting:Full cancellation of the lease without penalty;Immediate removal of the system at no cost to me;A formal apology for the misrepresentation and emotional stress caused.Requested Resolution Terminate the lease without penalty Remove solar system from my home at no cost Prevent future misrepresentation by EnFin or its affiliates Alert other consumers of this deceptive practice

7/16/24 ****** ****** representing freedom forever solar panels/Enfin came to my home. The panels were installed in August. I have called 78 times. Im still getting a bill from ****** and a bill from Enfin. Every time I call Freedom or Enfin Im being told Im not in the system. Until they can find me in the system, the panels cant be serviced to find out why the panels arent producing power. I was also explained by ****** the benefit of having a battery is so the energy produced by the panels could be stored. ****** assured me by giving me eight panels I would be able to produce 3 x more energy than I would need. Im now being billed $69.12 from Enfin and still receiving a bill from ******. ****** is aware Im a senior on a fixed income. ****** was made aware Ive recently been diagnosed with diabetes and recovering from a horrendous hit-and-run that took my right arm/right eye. Plus recently diagnosed with colon cancer which recently took the life of my cousin and my grandmother. Im paying for solar panels that dont work and recently, I was told by Enfin Im leasing the panels. When I spoke with ******, I told ****** I wanted to purchase the panels . I never talked about leasing the panels. ****** Informed me the interest rate was 3.5% . Then in five years I could pay off the balance of the loan. Today 3/12/25 was my 78th phone call. Please can anyone help me I feel as though Im being taken advantage of. I believe ****** intentionally sold me panels I couldnt afford or need. And due to my health, my life will be short. And ****** will have made his commission at my expense. Please help I dont know who to return to.
