  I do NOT recommend this company! I have never written a review before, but this was a HUGE disappointment and a waste of money. I paid for 30 day design revisions and unlimited consultations for my front and back yard (unlimited is not accurate since you have to schedule them, wait a week+ and wait for the revisions for 1-2 weeks in between all within 30 days or you have to pay extra). They charged an extra $200 for elevations in my yard and the revisions didnt even reflect the elevations in the design. After the first design, I provided direct and constructive feedback to my Project Manager (you dont talk to a designer directly) along with a detailed write up and inspiration pictures of what Im looking for. I also re-uploaded a few pictures of my yard where they were completely inaccurate in the rendering. (****I was not expecting them to get it right on the first design.) My write up referenced specifics from my inspiration pictures and included the picture numbers in my details to make it as easy as possible. The revisions didnt look like the designer had looked at my actual property pics/videos, read my notes about the inaccuracies, read my requests for specifics to include in the design, or even looked at most of my inspiration pictures! So, after 2 revisions that were so bad and specific requests were ignored, there was no way I was going to spend more money for another revision. The designs were not accurate renderings, they look like an amateur did them, they were not creative or inspiring at all, and NOT USEABLE. My last request was for a list of contractors with relevant experience to my most pressing needs/challenges (raised patio that needs complete reconstruction, a side yard that requires raised beds and a short retaining wall because Im on a sloped yard, and looking for concrete landscape borders to achieve the modern look Im going for).

  Satisfied Customer.I read many reviews before deciding to go with Shrubhub. There were both positive & negative reviews so I hoped for the best. Conclusion: Shrubhub provides a great design for the cost. Our project coordinator was *************************. He was excellent and communicated effectively and clearly during the whole process.I believe like anything else the more you provide your coordinator the better the results. Initially, ***** and I had about an hour conversation and he asked lots of questions. I provided lots of pictures and a survey and they did the rest. We had to pay slightly more do to the size of the yard but in the end it was worth it and fair. The 1st design we were very happy with. We requested a redesign with some adjustments and were very satisfied. We have not executed on design yet but we are looking forward to. I am sure some of the elements will be above our total budget but now we have a vision of the full potential of our yard. Thanks ************** for your help.

  We are still in the revision phase but so far my experience with ******* has been excellent. I did a couple of the upgrades, which I am glad that I did, because the first design was not good. I was honest with ******* and told her that there was nothing I could use from the first design and asked for a new designer. She got me a new one right away and the difference is incredible. We have a funky, more of a country house, and the second design fit our yard so much better. ******* could not have been more accommodating and worked very hard to make sure we were happy with what we paid for. I'm really looking forward to speaking with the plant consultant. I've had other landscape designers who are far more expensive and my yard has just looked like a kindergartener ate a box a crayons and threw up all over it. I'm excited to see how this turns out!

  Biggest waste of $300 Ive ever spent. After they took my money, I had to wait 3 weeks to have a 'consult' with a designer, and that was after quite a few attempts to get connected. I had uploaded all the details incl measurements, diagram of the shape and plan of my backyard, along with multiple photos from every angle possible, a list of a few wants such as hardscaping and a full list of plants local to where I live. Four weeks later I receive a VERY basic design that I could have easliy accomplished myself, along with a plant list and design that DIDNT include any of the plants I listed. Much to my disappointment I requested a few small adjustments which included some basic design changes and the plants I requested. Well, now it is another 4 weeks later and I'm still being told my new design will be available ASAP. On 9/19 I was assured it would be available in "one or two days maximum" Am getting sick of waiting, esp when they keep sending me emails pressuring me to "buy my recommended plants". Ha, haven't even got my plan and its been months! Don't bother with this if you actually want to start your project in a reasonable time frame

  Good value for the price (under $200), if you are not in a rush. The eventual product was a professional-looking design that followed our requests, but it took several tries and a couple months to get there. The plant consultant was especially impressive. He was clearly knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and helpful.It did take their team several tries (6+) over a time period of a couple months to create a design that both followed our requests/guidelines and looked professional (the first few tries ignored multiple of our requests and a couple of the other design drafts appeared lazily put together), but in the end we were happy with the eventual design and the team was eager to keep trying until they got it right. The designer who created the most recent 2-3 drafts did a great job. The designers they had doing some of the earlier drafts did not seem to have a strong design sense, and/or were not putting forth much effort.Since the price is much lower, it isn't fair to expect the same quality and efficiency as a higher-end landscape design firm or even as pricier virtual services. But considering the price and the fact that we were not in a rush to get our design, we are happy with the result and the value we got for what we paid.

  As I'm reading some of the reviews below, I wish I had read them before I spent the money. I received a plan that was basically no different than what I sent them with pencil and paper. I uploaded a bunch of clean, modern design elements and they just lined everything with messy plants. I asked for some type of front porch and backyard overhang and they gave me neither. I basically got my yard as is with plants surrounding everything and a pool added. I still have the same problems that I had prior to spending the money for their services. Plus it isn't a smooth process to talk back and forth. The process is not user friendly. I read below that they are now only giving 3D designs and not 2D. I didn't get a 3D design. Where was that feature? I'm very disappointed. I spent a lot of time uploading my own home pictures and drawing as well as pictures of what I like and I got the most basic of basic in return.

  I am surprised at the low rating because my project went beyond my expectation. Sure it took a few weeks but my yard is about ****** SF and on the waterfront. It is a contemporary mansion so it is not easy to design. When it was done I was shocked by the amount of detail **** had placed on the renderings. When I built this ****** SF mansion I did create 3D renderings and I know how expensive it can get as they charge per each rendering. **** provided me with 130+ renderings for both back and front yard + two large terraces. When I received my renderings we still need to make some minor adjustments however the renderings gave me so many new ideas that I had never thought of before. All in all I am enjoying the process with Shrub so far and in particularly **** after going through a few other companies with little ideas and huge quotes. I have already referred Shrub to my designer and will be doing another project with Shrub with my ******* home. Thank you ****.

  I had a great experience with Shrubhub. I had my initial phone consultation on 8/23/22 at 8am and my Project Manager ****** called me promptly at that appointment time. You do have to upload images with measurements of your yard and a few short videos of your yard beforehand. I also uploaded lots of inspiration images of yards and plants that I liked. The phone consultation goes over your wish list for your yard and they ask additional questions to see if there are other things you may not have thought of (irrigation, water features, lighting, fencing, etc.) The phone consultation was ***** minutes and I did pay extra for some of the up-sell items mentioned in their disclaimer emails and by the Project Manager, but I felt their charges were reasonable. My design was ready September 13, well within the quoted 30 day timeframe and it was a very comprehensive design of my front, side and back yard and it all looked amazing. They really took the items from my wish list, combined them with my inspiration photos and the feedback from the phone consultation and created a dream yard. It definitely is not a stock production design. My design included over 50 photos from all angles of the front, back, and side showcased in daylight and night photos to see the effect of the lighting package I added. It comes with a detailed list of all plants and items used in the photo renderings. I opted for the multiple revisions but I didn't end up really needing it; I revised only 2 images out of 57 and it was more for a visual for installation purposes. The initial design captured everything I wanted and even had things I didn't know I wanted until I saw the design. If you have any kind of vision for your yard and need to see some photos of possibilities, let Shrubhub do a design for you. I was not disappointed and it was money well spent.
