Was a great Vet Clinic/hospital before VCA took it over. Can't get in for routine appointments, so can't refill prescriptions. Very long waits to just get an appt for vaccines. Most of the issues seem to be because of the disorganized front desk. Seem to have a lot of staff turnover. Prices have gone way up.

A couple of years ago my little dog Cooper became very ill. I took him to a Vet in South Calgary. They x-rayed him and it showed that he many bladder stones, and one had slipped into his urethra, causing him severe discomfort. The vet did a procedure to try to remove the lodged stone but it did not work. The vet told me of a surgical procedure called a Scrotal Urethrostomy. The vet said that the VCA Animal Hospital had qualified surgeons that could do such surgery. The vet called VCA and I quickly drove my dog over to their location. VCA quickly processed him and he went in for surgery. The surgery was a Success and my little boy was no longer in pain. Cooper lived very well for several more years, and I have provided many referrals to the VCA Animal Hospital. The team at VCA did a Great job and saved Cooper with an Amazing surgical procedure. VCA Animal Hospital is a Great place!!

My local vet was taken over by VCA a few years ago and I cannot stress enough how overpriced they are. It's absolutely ridiculous they insist on charging me 130.00 each time I need my tiny dogs anal glands expressed, which is probably every 6 weeks or so. They claim their fee includes a mandatory "exam fee" which is ridiculous because my healthy dog doesn't need a full examination 8-9 times a year. Come on, really?! I paid it the first 2 times but to charge so much for something that shouldn't be more than maybe 50 bucks a pop for an established pet who gets everything else done there is not only unnecessary but just plain greedy! I found a private, non corporate owned veterinarian with much lower prices and way more compassion.

I have been bringing my dogs to VCA since 2019 and have never denied my dogs any test or procedures they have recommended. When I decided my elderly dog who has had gastrointestinal issues for 15 years and now had canine cognitive disorder had enough with test and procedures which stressed him out greatly and never gave a definitive answer on what was causing his symptoms. After another traumatic night of him crying and pacing, completely frightened, lost, confused and not sleeping or eating I had come to the decision to end his suffering and euthanize him. Afterwards I was given the cold shoulder by the staff except for one person, no condolences or anyone saying anything nice about my beloved dog. When I called to find out when he would be returned to me, I was told by the manager she would call me back and let me know, never did. Called again later that day the receptionist was cold as ice. I called the cremation services myself to find out when he would be returned and picked him up at the hospital. The receptionist only had to say I have an outstanding bill which I paid and then was handed his ashes, once again no condolences or kind words for my dog. If these people could not say a kind word about my dog I cannot feel comfort that I had been bringing my dogs their for care and that only compounds my grief. If you don't want to be judged doing the best for your babies save yourself further grief and go elsewhere.

This clinic has extremely poor customer service; they are rude, unprofessional, and encourage unnecessary procedures, without communicating the cost. Never going back.

I went to VCA Forestville, California. This is the 2nd time that I have been treated poorly. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats, all of which were on the monthly care plan for multiple years. I was treated poorly 1.5 years ago and tried to find somewhere else to bring my animals. I decided to give this location another chance and once again, the customer service was abhorrent, that I have decided to permanently explore other options for my pets. In both incidents, I personally "complained " to the veterinarian. It is very upsetting to experience unprofessional and poor customer service when I'm just trying to take care of my pets, which does cost a considerable amount of money; I at least expect to be valued as a customer and treated with courtesy.

      VCA killed my dog.

They denied us care, overcharged us for every single procedure, continually put my dog under anesthesia, would leave him dirty after every procedure, and denied us life-saving cancer treatments for unfounded and unproven reasons.

DO NOT. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Take your precious, beloved pets to VCA. They do not care about your animals. They will overcharge you with no explanation, they will deny you care, and they won't explain a **** thing to you.

My dog will pass **** earlier than he should now because VCA denied us chemotherapy. I will be left with massive bills to them because they nickeled and dimed us for everything. I will be in mourning for my sweet baby, and will still be paying these crooks money for doing absolutely nothing.
