We took the our senior dog in to be put down because of sickness and age, it was upsetting to say the least but what came after was even more upsetting when we were told that we were not getting his ashes. Apparently, Audubon Vet merged with VCA, which they never mentioned before hand, and we are being told that my husband checked off a communal cremation which he did NOT! When we asked them to send us the paper my husband filled out, we were told they did not have it due to the merger but regardless, the paper was filled out by them and he was specifically told they would call when my dogs ashes come in.... BTW, a few weeks prior to our dogs passing, we took him in for bloodwork, which they also lost, and used the same merger excuse. I am outraged that we are not only being lied to by VCA, but that my dog, a member of our family for almost 16 years whom we loved, was thrown away like a piece of garbage.... it sickens me to think about what they have put us through. I can not and will not let them get away with this!....looking at other reviews, we are not the only one this happened to.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

This place is awful. No one answers the phone for feedback and the hospital they've attached their name to is less than competent. If I could give negative stars, I would, but it looks like the current reviews also speak for themselves. I would not recommend this company for anything.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

I was with my vet clinic for over 12 years. They were there for me when I had to say good bye to my 16 yr old dog, they were there for me with my 2 pups and everything they went through. My furbabies are now just over 11. When it was a privately owned clinic the service, caring and compassion *** amazing. If my dogs were sick they made sure they got in right away and were looked at. With my old girl, they had her pretty much all day after I called in the morning. They did numerous tests and sadly discovered that she probably wasn't going to make it through the night. They stayed late with me while I said my good byes and helped her cross the rainbow bridge. NOW that it is VCA, it took almost a week to get back blood test results and another week to get results from a stool sample. VCA is only concerned with the bottom line, they are not concerned with your pet. The people they hire are generally caring people... but the orders from the top are to charge more and book as many appointments as possible in a day and not leave any openings for last minute appointments. It is very sad that the people that own a chocolate bar company ( Mars bars) also are in charge of running veterinary clinics. You know they are only in it for the money.
If you can find a privately owned vet clinic, go there... AVOID VCA at all costs.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

Since our local veterinary clinic was taken over by VCA, the average bill has increased by over 100%. The cost of draining my dog's **** glands previously cost $38-$48. The clinic now adds a technician fee of close to $50 at each visit resulting in a cost of $100 each time. If we didn't have a senior dog we would definitely switch to an alternate clinic. The veterinary care is good, I am happy to pay for the cost of care but this feels like daylight robbery.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

I think that the reviews about the *** Vets are accurate. I called Tuesday September 20, 2022 to bring my pet in to have to be put down. She was my Mum's cat and I took over after I lost my Mum. She became my pet. This vets that I call I have been dealing with for over 10 yrs. with no problems whatsoever until this *** came into play and did every pet owner wrong.
I was told that day I needed to make an appointment to put my pet down. I am still in shock. How can any pet owner make an appointment to put their beloved pet to sleep. Here's ************** said on the phone " The reason for booking an appointment is to make sure you have all the time you need with the doctor".
Every pet owner that has to do this says their goodbyes at home, they need zero time with the doctor. All we need the doctor for is to put the meds into the IV pick, that's all. I am not there to chat it up with the doctor therefore that response was dead wrong to say to me.
I called another vet where I live which is in ********, *******, Beatties, was the vets I called and they helped ** right away because I figured it out, they are not ruled by the *** & Mars. companies.
*** you have a **** of a lot to answer for. You are not saving lives, you are killing them. You have zero compassion *** any pet and the pet owners that pay your wage. Your website states we care, we care about your pet and the pet owners. BS.
I wished to god you would somehow get shouted down for good because in a pet owner's eyes you broke every promise on your website 100%.
How the **** can you respond to that ***. I don't want to hear your sorry, they mean nothing to me. You know what would have mattered to me that you cared about my pet. That is what I wanted from you, the caring accept that a vet is to have no matter what. I don't even want to give the one star. It makes me sick that I have to.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

Going to starting looking for another vet. Unfortunately I had a payment not go through and instead of sending any courtesy notification to let me know and give me the opportunity to fix it they just waited a whole week so they could get an extra fee tacked on. That is trash of a move especially given how crazy expensive everything has become and I can't trust a business that cares so little for the people behind the pets. Disappointed and done.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

We had to take our 15 year old ********************* in to the *************** in ******* ** for euthanasia. It was a very hard thing to do but the staff were the most caring and considerate people and made a terrible experience bareable.
They explained everything and there was no rush. The tech and doctor were the best. I would definitely recommend themVCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

I called at 8 AM my dogs stomach was extended I thought it was bloat which can kill an animal in a matter of hours. The office gal was rushed and said to bring the dog in immediately, I told her I would not even consider coming in unless they had a surgeon present, I made that very clear to her. I arrived at 8:50 AM I clearly asked if they had a surgeon there upon arrival and they said the surgeon comes in at 8:30AM. They should have been there by my arrival however the surgeon was not there, the surgeon eventually showed up at 9:45 AM. They immediately charged my credit card $1,500.00 up front before providing any treatment to my dog. The credit card consent I signed was for a "deposit" in a different amount not an actual credit card charge. Then I waited until 11:00AM ( 2 hours) outside in my car panicking with no word from anyone. I thought this could be life threatening and I had no idea what they were doing to my pet. I had absolutely no communication from anyone for the entire two hours. I asked the staff several times about my dog and one employee rolled her eyes saying they were busy with other people. The other people who were ahead of me were crying and just as upset about their dog, they waited over 2 hours to find out a treatment plan as well. When the Vet *********************** finally called me he laughed and asked if my dog had gotten in the "pantry" because her stomach was full of food. Then they brought me a bill for $15,000.00 to pump her stomach and said it may not work then that they would need to do surgery. I called another Vet took my dog home and monitored her. Thank God she is fine today with at home treatment.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

I cannot in good conscience suggest that anyone take their pet to the *** hospital at **********************************************************************, if it is an emergency. We had noticed that our dog was drinking an inordinate amount of water and losing weight. I took him into *** on 9/2 but they refused to see him because his condition was not "critical"; I was assured that he would be OK to wait until the appointment I already had scheduled for him with his regular vet three weeks out. On the evening of Labor Day his weight loss had worsened, he had started vomiting and having ****** diarrhea. The next morning I called ***, describing the situation and the receptionist said "we really should take a look at him." I took him back to *** and while there he had an episode of diarrhea right in front of the registration desk that was all blood. But he was still not "critical" so they would not see him. I was able to have him seen later that day at a different emergency vet but it was too late and on Wednesday, 9/7, we had to have him put to sleep. I am sure that the vets at VDA are all very caring but this policy of seeing only "critical" cases is wrong and they should not represent themselves as an emergency facility on ******* *** might not have been able to save my dog's life when I went there on 9/2 but they might have been able to spare him his suffering before he was put to sleep.VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc.

This is a SCAM OPERATION. My 15 lb. Dog was referred to a neurologist at VCA Oakville Mississauga, ON Canada. She was walking wobbly and was in pain...my own vet suspected a stroke or disc problem. At VCA Oakville, we were NOT ALLOWED to be with her during exam. RED FLAG. Then, we had to pay 5K for MRI. Told she had a "slipped disc". She'd need surgery immediately. Must pay ANOTHER 5k surgery. RED FLAG. Was called at home hours later saying surgery "went well". Minutes later, another call informing us our dog "has had a heart attack and died" WHAT?!! WHAT HAPPENED?! We were told they used reversal drug (Narcan, street name) because her heart had stopped!! RED FLAG. This drug is used when someone is OVERDOSED. One of the drugs they'd used on her post op and in her anesthesia was FENTANYL. RED FLAG. Really?! You killed my dog? Are you serious right now?! They said "maybe she had underlying conditions". Nope. Got all my vet records to prove she was fine. I sent my small, healthy but injured 15 lb dog to VCA Oakville Mississauga for a diagnosis, and then routine surgery, and after paying TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS we are left to grieve our beloved baby with more questions than answers. My God. What did we do? I cannot think of her, speak of her, or even look at a picture of her without thinking what fear and horror she must have been subjected to behind the doors of VCA before being left in a cage to die. There is ZERO TRANSPARENCY at VCA. BRIGHT RED FLAG. Did they even THINK to offer our money back? No. But we asked. Their non empathetic reply? : Why would we do that? Um, because we brought a LIVE dog here this morning and took a DEAD one home with us. Their reply? ; we'll think about it. Excuse me???
Folks, if you ever get a referral to this monstrous money making conglomerate horror show...
RUN. DON'T WALK. RUN.
You'll have no closure, no way to remember your beloved, and no money.
