I inadvertently booked a prepaid car reservation with Fox through aarp-Expedia. When I realized it was a prepaid I immediately within 10 min tried to cancel. When I reached Fox they said to contact the third party I booked through. The third party tried to reach them while I was on hold for about 30 min. Then I was told to try back again . Three times the third party I booked through tried to reach Fox and by the time they did it was well over six hours later. I am certain Fox rental could have cancelled within 10 to 30 minutes window of time. Due to their obvious call center problems and the third party company I used, I was charged for but never picked up rental. This is a mess of a company and I am angry that I had so much difficulty in cancelling and getting refunded in that short time I tried to cancel. Never ever again. I reached out to Fox rental and aarp-Expedia separately as they both have phone records of my initial call. I want to be refunded but have gotten nowhere .Fox Rent A Car

I am sorry that you had trouble to cancel your reservation. A reservation booked on a thrid party site must be cancelled by that third party, Fox does not have the ability to do so. I am sorry that you had that issue but please contact your booking source directly for further assistance.

Fox Rental was dishonest with me from the beginning. I rented a mid-size Auto from Fox in San Diego, for 10 days. When I got to Fox's service counter, they told me that they could not accept my Credit Cards (not VISA or Mastercard). While the reason was vague, it seemed to be because the Cards are Credit and Debit Cards?? I offered my American Express and it was refused too, with no explanation. Finally I offered to pay cash, but this was not acceptable either. But the Fox Rep told me "not to worry, this happens to people all the time". He then produced a business Card for the Rental Car Help Center, and told me he was calling them to pick me up. The Rental Car Help Center people were very helpful, and I recommend them if Fox strands you in San Diego with no rental. But I rented a Hyundai Sonata with 167,000 miles on it, and some features not working for $80 per day. I had reserved a much better deal with Fox Rental. I can provide a confirmation Email from Fox, confirming my reservation; that does not mention any restriction on the method of payment accepted. Fox Rental is the very WORST company I have ever reserved a Rental Car from, and I've been renting 40 years now. I will NEVER do business with Fox again, and I recommend you steer clear of them too.Fox Rent A Car

I rented from the fox San ****,CA location. Returned the car with a full tank of gas, but the check in attendant wrote it up as an empty tank and I was charged $106. When I disputed the charge, and showed that I filled the tank the day before I left, and topped it off near the airport using the same credit card I rented the car with, they still refused to credit me the $106. Blatant disregard and fraud on the part of Fox rental car.Fox Rent A Car

I am very sorry that you had an issue upon return. I do see that a request for the receipt for fuel was issued back in May but I do not show that it was received. Currently there is a chargeback on the account , but once that is closed if you wish to submit the receipt to *******@foxrentacar.com we would be happy to look into that for you.

My flight was cancelled on my way to Orlando, Fox rental said my reservation was good till 8 that evening, I was able to get a flight the next day, they stated that they could not hold reservation, then they said they would see if anything was available, which they said nothing available, but the car I had reserved was there, blows my mind that the do not accommodate for canceled or delayed flights, which is very common thing these days. beware of Fox rental cars, not at all helpful.Fox Rent A Car

I apologize for the inconvenience you encountered. Prepaid reservations are held for 12 hours and pay upon arrival reservations are held for 6 hours to accommodate a delayed flight. I apologize that the location was unable to provide a vehicle the following day but our policies do show the hold time for each type of reservation. I would give them 0 stars if was available. First off on the 3rd day of our vacation in Phoenix we got a flat tire on the 202E. We waited on hold for 45 minutes and then waited over 1-1/2 for a tow truck to get to me. Overall I lost over 3-1/2 hours of my vacation stranded on the side of the road and exchanging the vehicle. Fast forward week and a half I get a bill in the mail for fox saying I own over $300 for the repairs and tow fee. I will never give this company another penny of my business. Also while I was on the phone with roadside assistance they told me to try and change the tire myself. I would have done that but there was no spare tire in the car. Then they said to use the emergency air pump in the vehicle but that started leaked some kind of fluid out of it. So we were forced to have it towed.Fox Rent A Car

Last year I rented a car from Fox in Miami. I was so happy with that experience that I rent from Fox for this trip, too. Never again!
You can thank "Tanya" in Fort Myers. She is an unpleasant and dishonest woman. It's possible she didn't actually lie. She may have said, "WE can BUY gas for much less than any you'll find". But I understood, "We'll charge you less for gas than anyone else". Since I'd come straight from the airport, I didn't know Florida gas prices. Fox charged quite a lot more. AND I hadn't used all the gas in my tank. HUGE RIP OFF!!!
Add to this, there are hundreds of dollars in hidden fees. It would have been double if she'd been able to pressure and humiliate me into buying the insurance she was pushing. I ended up paying nearly $200 more than the quote.
I WILL NEVER RENT FROM FOX AGAIN. BE SURE TO THANK TANYA. If there is any justice, she will burn in ****.Fox Rent A Car

Apparently I was unclear. Your agent implied that FOX would refill with tank at lower price than what I would find at local stations. That was absolutely untrue. The practice of the agent was intentionally dishonest. She did NOT indicate that it was a "service". She suggested that it was a cost savings. She intended to deceive. After traveling 10 hours, we finally reached our destination at the Ft. Lauderdale airport on Saturday, July 9th. Our flight was delayed by Southwest and we didn't land until almost 12:30am. Upon recovering our luggage from the baggage terminal, we headed right over to Fox Rent A Car. Initially, I did not see any representatives and assumed they were in the garage assisting other customers. I waited a few more minutes with other customers, to be told by another customer they were closed. I was in disbelief because this rental car company had a bulletin board in clear view that listed on time and delayed flights. In essence, I thought it would have been a courtesy for their representatives to stay a little late to get the remaining customers settled. The customer who advised stated she arrived at the counter well before they closed. The website shows 12:30am and she states she arrived at 12am and no one was there to assist. I immediately contacted customer service almost 1:00 am in the morning, trying to find a resolution. I had 2 children with me who were restless and 6 bags of luggage. The representatives I spoke to stated it was nothing they could do on their end because they were a 3rd party call center. The representative stated he will note take my concerns and apologized for the inconvenience. I was basically stuck without a vehicle that was paid in full by my husband. Very disappointed with the outcome and have yet to be refunded my money back. Their was no resolutions provided for me. Fox is a very dishonest company and we will never rent from them again! We rented a car from them in Salt Lake City Utah and did the 1/2 tank prepaid fuel so that all we had to do was bring the car back with a half a tank. We returned the car with a little over a 1/2 of tank of gas in it at 7:25 am because of having an early flight. When we got there the lady told us no one was there to check the car in yet and she would have to send us an email statement later. She would not go out and look at it herself. When I received the statement there was approximately $70.00 dollars over charged and when I called Fox (several phone calls) because the "someone who was supposed to call me back within 48 hours never did" They told me that the paperwork said that I returned the car with only 1.9 gallons of gas in it. This is not true and I would never recommend this company to anyone!Fox Rent A Car

We rented a vehicle from FOX during our trip to AZ. After we picked it up noticed some technical issues with the car. We came back to FOX at AZ airport. The staff were very professional and showed empathy to our situation. They exchanged the vehicle quick and bumped us a level higher from the previous vehicle at no charge. When we returned the lady who excepted the vehicle ( Rosalia) was very professional as well inspected the vehicle and sent us on our way. No wait,no delays.Great experience!
