      Message to anyone that sees this I would strongly advise never renting from Fox car rental. We are currently in ******* under a state of emergency and fox car rental **** not allow us to return the car to only five locations in the entire **************** and four of them are ******* or south where the worst hit areas are. They **** not work with me or anything else they say I'm on my own basically and if the car is dropped off at any other location, other than the five locations in *******, that we are responsible for the car, **** not give me any any other options to return the car anywhere else during a state of emergency I really believe that this company is not about helping ** the customer. During a state of emergency and a mandatory evacuation Fox car rental company remains non helpful and **** not extend a helping hand to get ** home

      I am very sorry to hear that you are having an issue during the hurricane. Yes, we only have the 5 rental facilities and an option to return to a Fox rental facility only. If you kept the car because of the hurricane any late or extension fees will be waived. We do hope you were safe during the emergency.

      If Fox rental company wants to remain conducting businesses in the state of Florida you must have other options than 5 drop off locations. Getting my family to safe place as far away from this deadly storm as humanly possible but Fox Rental Co. handcuff us from doing so. Additional fees was the last thing on my family's mind. Let me explain my latest conversation with Fox Rental customer service rep Charles and his supervisor I believe Ann on Wednesday 9/28. At the time of this phone conversation we were in Jacksonville Florida and the only option that was given to us at that time from these two customer service reps was to drive the rental car to Miami Florida airport to drop off 400+ miles south through hurricane Ian basically risking are safety. My point being Fox rental co. must evaluate how to service their customers in time of a state of emergency instead of bogus plans like I've explained in our experience, until that time I would strongly recommend not conducting any businesses with this company.

      I had a very frustrating situation with Fox Rental Car!

      My reservation was made through Expedia in May 28th (prepaid).
      When I reached the counter at Fox in Sep 4th (around 2pm), I was informed by the manager (******) that I was unable to rent the car pleading I didn't have an international driver's license.
      I always rented cars in the US showing only the license issued by my country (Brazil). Anyway...
      I was told that it was a Fox's "new" policy. But, the thing is that I was never informed about it before. As mentioned, I've made the reservation through Expedia, In which the policy received in the email confirmation mentioned:

      "The driver must present a valid driver's license and credit card in their name upon pick-up. The credit card is required as a deposit when renting any vehicle. The deposit amount is held by the car rental company. Please ensure sufficient funds are available on the card. International rentals may have different driver license requirements. An international driving license is required if the drivers' license is non-roman alphabet."

      Portuguese is a roman alphabet!

      Because I was unable to get the car, I asked right at the counter for the refund. I was told that the process should be done through Expedia. So I did it... explained the whole situation and they initiated the refund process.

      For my surprise, the response I got was that the refund request was declined because of "no show" from my side!

      As I described above, that's not what happened!

      If that was the case, why would I had to rent another car from another company in the very same day?!

      Expedia said there is nothing else they could do from their side. To process the refund, I should ask Fox rent a car to leave a comment in the reservation, authorizing the refund process.

      So I did it, twice... Until this moment, after almost two weeks, nothing was done!

      This whole situation is so stressful and unfair!

      This company is showing that is not trustful AT ALL!

      I am very sorry to hear that you had an issue at pick up. Per our rental policies if your drivers license does not have an English translation you must provide an international drivers license or a certified translation of the license. I apologize that you were not informed of this policy but this information is in the rnetal policies provided during the booking process. I apologize if the refund was denied, unfortunately that would be because the location did not enter proper notes. Please initiate a refund request to Expedia and we will ensure that it is approved.

      If you read all ***** responses to these reviews you see that you just need to read the fine print before you rent from them, then DON'T rent from them and go find another vendor. They've got everything covered. They have so many ways to charge you extra; daily toll fee's, prepaid fuel, expensive upgrades, etc. I rented in ****** recently, paid the $11.99 per day to cover tolls, only to find out as we started driving that the toll stations were waiving tolls, not charging anyone. You'd think the local Fox people would know about this and share it with you to save a couple bucks. But they tell you that if you get billed for a toll without the coverage you'll also have to pay $15 per toll for the admin fee. I also prepaid for fuel @ 1/2 tank. The tank was ALMOST at a half when I returned it and they charged me an additional $32 to fill it, in addition to the $51 I'd already paid, all this BEFORE I left the rental lot and BEFORE they had time to refill the tank. No way it took $82 to refill that tank. Do your due diligence, read the fine print and be prepared to move on to another company. What started out as a $350 rental for 4 days turned into $680 after all the add-ons. Bye Bye Fox. Fool me once.......

      Before filing a complaint with the BBB. We did reach out to Billing which was literally a waste of time. They were going to charge us an additional fee to refund the tolls that were waived. I also filed a complaint on FOX CAR RENTAL with Expedia.com which was responsible for coordinating this rental. We are professional people and treat people right and felt like we had been over charged in the end not to mention coerced into pre paying tolls and gas. I appreciate the response they offered but just like the call prior to making a complaint it is passive ** their part. Read all of the reviews on the BBB regarding the same issues. They are con artist and present themselves as doing you a favor.

      If I could give 1 star I would. These people are scamming customers...I will be reporting them to better business bureau. We paid for our rental car in full through their website $167 using our debit card...upon pickup Fox required a credit card to place a deposit hold...not a problem. Our mechanic finished my husband's vehicle enhancements a day early so naturally we returned the rental a day early. The next day Fox releases the deposit hold, but charges $43 to the same credit card. When contacted *** billing department denies charging our credit card and advised ** to call a different phone number for a 3rd party that controls their website. The 3rd party company only had our debit card information and didn't charge our credit card. Upon recalling *** we speak with *** in billing who finally admits that our credit card was indeed charged $43 by *** because they have an alleged clause that states if a rental car is brought back early or late there will be a $20 fee. Well what about the other $23? Those are taxes that were allegedly never charged. So ****** me this...we paid rental fees for 4 days. We return the rental on day 3 and do not receive or ask for credit back to our debit card, but you charge a $43 fee. I am sure you rented the car out again as soon as we returned it because it was filthy upon our receipt of the vehicle..so you made money hand over fist. LONG STORY SHORT....FOX RENTAL SCAMS THEIR ************* HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND RENT FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY!!!

      I am very sorry that you have an issue with your billing, it sounds that your charge was for tolls associated with the rental. I cannot be certain as there is not a rental in this name or associated with this email. Fox Rent a Car does not do any of the billing for toll violations, but it is the responsibility of the renter to paid any toll roads used during the rental.       I left an item in the car at the **********************. About 5 hours later I called to inquire about getting it back. I spoke only to a recording for the Lost and **************** and left a message providing exact information requested. The recording said they would return my call "as soon as we can". That was 8 days ago. I have called several times since, always just getting the same recording, never getting a person. After 6 days I tried pressing some of the different selections hoping to speak to a person. No luck. For one of the choices, which was to speak to an agent, the recording just continued to loop no matter how many times I made that selection. I waited in line for 50 minutes when I picked up the car.

      I rented from Fox Rent A Car ******************************************. The attendant said we would be charged only for tolls we accumulated on the ****************. I drove from ******* to I75 and returned on the same route. The charge on my bill was $179.85 dollars which is outrageous. Many other charges were on the bill which I have no idea what they are for. Under unlimited miles: 1 hour $10.26. 6 days @$30.62 which totaled $182.72.
      *** CRF 10% which totaled $160..
      Surcharge @ $2.00/day which totaled $54.00.
      28 VLF @ $1.17/day for a total of $32.76
      28 ERF @ $1.50/day for a total of $42.00
      28 ATS @ $11.99/day for a total of $179.85
      My base rental was $985.98 and after all the add-ons, my bill was $1936.96.
      Fox does not respond why all of these extra charges were incurred.
      ************ is a total ripoff. Don't ever rent from them.
      I would give them zero stars, but that is not an option.

      I am very sorry if there was a miscommunication on toll charges. Fox Rent a Car only sells a platepass, which is a per day charge, to avoid any charges for tolls. The platepass ** available for $11.99 per day. This information is available in our rental policies as well as on the signed rental agreement. I do show that you had a platepass ***** to your rental along with the added prepaid fuel. All other charges on your rental were all a part of your original reservation.       This company is trash! Where do I start? I reserved a car via Priceline. Be prepared to be endure fees, even if you use a major credit card ($150). Also, they charge for $20 per day if your return the car early or late. I had to return my car early because they are not located at the airport - my Priceline contract said that they are located at the airport s d I was to return said car at the airport. Well, when I arrive I am shuttled to an offsite location that is not opened at 3am in the morning, which is when I need to return my car so that I catch my 5am flight. Which would have been no problem if they would have been LOCATED IN THE AIRPORT! Do not use this care rental. Do not use their services.

      A very bad experience. Previous to a trip I was taking on August 7, I had booked and paid for a car through Expedia. The rental company was Fox. I had used a credit/debit MasterCard to purchase the car. When I got to the airport, however, I was told by a most unhelpful agent that I would not be permitted to use that card because it has a credit/debit function. I have booked cars with other companies and this problem has never occurred. As a matter of fact there has never been a business that has refused my MasterCard on this basis EVER. If Fox is going to adopt some obscure and unreasonable policy like this, they should display it very prominently on their website, as it is out of **** with every reputable car rental company. They should not bury it somewhere in their "terms and agreements" but, rather, they should put it very noticeably on the itinerary in more than one place, but especially where instructions are given for what to do when you get to the airport and how to pick up your car. They should inform travel companies of the policy so that sites like Expedia can inform their users. I consider Fox to owe me a refund. However, the blasé, formulaic responses from the Fox representatives to the multiple complaints on this website do not give me optimism that I will receive satisfaction. In any case, I will never use Fox again. Many much finer options are available.

      Rented a car at the Tampa airport and was "offered" the toll package. Declined because I wasn't going to really be on the toll roads. Then got a bill for $6.00 worth of tolls and $75.00 administrative fee! I was completely in shock over the fee. No one mentioned this to me. So be aware of this company and all the additional fees. Will not recommend or rent from them again!

      WORST RENTAL EVER!!! My wife and I took my daughter to Denver and we rented a car from Fox. We picked up the car on day 1 of 6 and it was stolen from the "secured" parking lot under the hotel that cost $45 a day that night. Upon noticing the next morning the car was gone we called Fox. You can only reach the customer service number and they will not allow you to contact the store nor can they if you have any issues. They send an email to the store and you have to wait until they call you back. We call everyday while we were in Denver and they didn't call us for a week, which was 2 days after we returned home so we were stranded in Denver with our 15 year old daughter in Denver for 5 days without a car as we never got a replacement. We then had to fight with them as they still were going to charge us for the full 6 days. Just a joke of a business and I was told by the store rep that we should have taken an Uber back to the store to address the issue. Then a month later they are emailing us for the deductible upfront (I filed an insurance claim) for the damage because they are in a for profit business and need to get the car back in operation, really unbelievable. TOTAL JOKE AND NEVER RENT HERE!! If you ever have an issue you will be screwed.
