The problematic and deceptive transactions began on 2/23/2024 with Dental Group of Covina. Year of 2024 was the first time I ever used Medical Dental Insurance. This dental office and their staff ruthlessly took advantage of vulnerable senior citizens and elderly persons by falsely misusing Medical Dental's directory to deceptively advertise to deceitfully lure and trick Medical Dental Members like me and my mother to be pressured into taking an outrageous loan with high interest rates and fees to buy expensive work and products. This dental office's staff used their phones to mislead Medical Dental Members by mispresenting their services and hidden intentions like me and my mother. Since I needed a badly infected tooth removed, I contacted Dental Group of Covina on 2/23/24 and spoke to one of their **** named ******. ****** checked her system and confirmed I was an eligible Medical Dental Member, and they took new patients, and she made an urgent appointment to remove my tooth on 2/23/24 at 2 pm. ****** said they were familiar with the guidelines of Medical Dental, and they paid for emergency tooth removals and X-rays. When I arrived at this dental office on 2/23/24, I was immediately rushed into the X-ray room, then placed in a dental chair. Later, the office manager named ****** ***** walked in with my mother: ****** aggressively pitched a predatory loan for about $5500 - $9800, trying to force us to sign for it. ****** ***** mispresented the nature of this loan from their finance company ******** claiming to be part of Medical Dental who would reimburse us later, not true at all. ****** perpetrated a loan scheme to trick unsuspecting senior citizens like me and my mother for unscrupulous financial gain. My mother rejected this loan around 2/23/24 by text to ********. The resolution my mother and I are seeking it to credit our account with a full refund to be confirmed in writing by U.S. mail to me, my mother, and Medical Dental. See attachments. Thank you.Initial Complaint

This dental office lied to me at least 3 times as to the treatment to be done. On the date (August 8, 2024) when I went to the office for my appointment they informed me of the correct answer to my original question and I told them I could not agree to the procedure now that I had the correct answer to my original question to them. since they had already charged my credit card with the payment of $950.00 they told me they would refund that amount to my credit card.Today (August 16, 2024) I called the credit company and they told me NO CREDIT had been issued so I went to the dental office to ask why it had not been credited and was told by a woman named ***** only the Manager, *******, could issue a credit and that she was not in today and when I asked why she had not done the credit after 8 eight days they had no answer. I told the woman I talked to that I would be back on Monday and if the credit did not get posted I would take further steps to reclaim my money. The people in the front office are very rude and not helpful.Initial Complaint

The transaction took place on 7/12/2023 I deposited $520 for Occlusal guard that the doctor ****** then did not tell me why only thing is so that I won't grind my teeth and my sleep but it didn't say in her notes that I'm trying to get my records and I have to sign the paper for them to release the records so I can read what her notes says but she didn't explain accurately and say that anything was wrong with my teeth for grinding I don't even grind my teeth when I sleep but it's ocular guard hard appliance full Arch that was a $520 and then the total is $1,520 I'm complaining about the treatment, the fitting procedure because again as soon as they don't get a payment once we did the auto pay they call us wanting the money that's not fair, because we're not late in our payments and they've been on time and it's their error and their problem as far as when the money is supposed to come through and what not it's up to them to find out what's going on before they just hound us about a payment but it was August 12th September 12th October 12th November 12th December 12th January 12th 2024 February 12th 2024 March 12th 2024 $90 and the other month was $130 so therefore I only went in there for cleaning you know through dentical or medical or what have you and and just recently June 22nd 2024 I went in for my appointment and it's a different doctor and they're talking about the pockets the reason why I need to use the Gumtree man is for the pockets and my teeth well she's coming off all these numbers 6534 I don't understand it but I don't believe the treatment is working and it's not filing the pockets like they say it's supposed to. Reason why I'm complaining and wanting reimbursement for that service you know they're telling me in the office that as far as they know with that treatment that they don't give refunds now that's not what I want to hear in a professional setting. I believe I was to be going to see them 90 days rather than 6 months asking for reimbursementInitial Complaint

First date of appointment, when in for cleaning and removing old filings. One week later top back tooth cracked open, never had any problems until then. When back in to fix broken tooth and for extreme pain it was to be filled. Pain continue constantly for at least for a least 3 months. In April they said they will fix some cap, but pain constant on top tooth. By May went in for that same tooth this time its a root canal or removed. By this time filing a claim for broke tooth and having to replace it with partials. Every dentist that appointment was with a different dentist, not that same dentist every time someone different always. Out of all the dentist not one of them seen that the tooth was broken in half. After the fourth dentist he took another x-ray didnt see anything, after showing him pain with a string he took another picture and seen tooth was broken in half. Bu this time I did NOT TRUST this dentist with my care. Dental work cost money. A family member sent me to her dentist where his care is ONE DENTIST ONE ONLY and he cared for me greatly . I truly hope that West Coast to pay for my Partials to be installed to cover my missing tooth. West Coast never excepted the fact that there dentist broken the tooth.Initial Complaint

This business takes excessive X-rays and photographs that are not covered by insurance. They bill excessively to insurance and use every appointment to rack up maximum charges. Even when I have said this is excessive to them in the office - they insist it is policy, and I have now been billed a 2nd time (the first time they cancelled).West coast dental has been okay at handling my care. However, they usually require 2-3 hours of time and they bill excessively for unnecessary services that are not covered by insurance.I havent had a single cavity or surgical procedure at this office, and they still insist on excessive charges for unnecessary images - which my insurance denies and they invoice. Its a scam.Initial Complaint

On 12/18/23 I went to my scheduled appointment at Dental Center of Arcadia for a root canal treatment. I have been a member of DCA for over 20 years. At the time of dental treatment I did not have the attached $200.00 gift card with me. Within several days after treatment I returned to *** and presented the gift card to the office manager. The manager ******** gave me several reasons why she/they could not accept the gift card, 1) Since I had insurance they could not accept the *** 2) They was not able to accept GC and patients insurance. The remedy that the office manager offered on that date was a free teeth withering on a later visit. I kept that offer in mind until my next DCA visit. On my next scheduled visit to *** on 5/15/24 I spoke with the new office manager (informed that previous office manager Virginia no longer with company) and was informed that she/they could not honor the offer from another manager. That manager said that she will inform corporate of my issues and let me know. At the time of this letter I have not heard from DCA.Furthermore, after I was initially denied the usage of my *** I reached out to corporate and was informed that there was no reason that I shouldve not been able to use the *** Without going into details the corporate representative stated that all offices may not operate the same way. Its may be based on the individual office manager discretion.I believe this is false advertisement on the part of DCA, they offer customers/consumers discount and GC that they are not able to use. When presented. They use tactics to get you in for dental treatment and refuse to honor their discount once service is rendered.Initial Complaint

Formal Complaint Regarding Refund Delay Dear Sir/*****,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the handling of my refund request at the Dental Group of Arcadia, located at *******************************************************************************************************************On July 13th, 2023, I paid $2206.20 for crown to be installed. However, I later decided not to proceed with the crown and informed the office of my decision. I initiated the refund process in August or September of 2023. Despite my consistent follow-**** my refund has not been processed as of June 4, 2024.Throughout this period, I have faced significant delays and have been repeatedly told that my refund would be processed "next week." It has now been over 20 weeks since I was first assured that my refund was forthcoming, but I have yet to receive it. Additionally, the dental office has refused to issue my refund by check or money order, insisting on returning the funds to my original credit card. Unfortunately, I have lost the credit card used for the payment and have replaced it with a new one. New card has a different card number as the card I used to pay, which I believe is the reason for the delay in processing my refund.I request that you address this issue promptly and process my refund of $2206.20 through an alternative method, such as a check or money order, to ensure that I receive the funds without further delay.Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
