1 starVisit 1: I overheard the receptionist tell another patient that her insurance didnt cover her treatment and she owed $800 a big red flag. I made it very clear that I only wanted a standard check-up and regular cleaning (not a deep cleaning, which many insurances dont cover). After the initial exam, the dentist recommended removing my wisdom teeth with a bone graft and handed me an invoice for $900 without a consultation with the oral surgeon or a full explanation of what the surgery involved.Visit 2: I returned for a cleaning and a filling. I asked for my invoice in advance and made sure to confirm Id only be paying for the cleaning and filling. The receptionist seemed annoyed. I told her I didnt want the bone graft and she replied, Thats not how we do it. When I saw the dentist, I asked him to sign a treatment plan stating the bone graft was medically necessary he refused, and one staff member explained it was to protect his license. This made sense because the recommendation shouldve come from the surgeon, not the general dentist. I hadnt even seen the surgeon or had my X-rays reviewed by them. I asked for a written, signed treatment plan from the surgeon before committing to surgery. They reluctantly agreed to schedule a consultation.Visit 3: Instead of a consultation with the surgeon, I was pulled aside by the office manager, who informed me that they dont provide signed treatment plans even though their software has the capability to do so. I shared my concerns about being pushed into a procedure without a proper consultation. The whole thing felt like they were trying to upsell me on unnecessary procedures before even letting a specialist weigh in.Aside from this, the office is plagued by long wait times, unprofessional and seemingly inexperienced staff, and questionable practices. It feels like they rely on patients not knowing their rights and try to pressure or confuse them into paying for services they may not need.Review fromAmanda C

1 starWE WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE 5 STARS IF POSSIBLE. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE. We were warned not to go here from a friend and wish we had listened to them. We have to share this so that no one else has to. My husband went in today at 9:45 for a 10am root canal appointment. It was his first time and we completed the paperwork in advance to his appointment. He left the dental office at 3:19pm. He was there for over 5 hours for a 1.5 hour procedure. We are livid. We missed appointments because this dental office did not care for his time. Husband shares that the dentists he saw Dr. ****** and Dr. ***** would come in and see him and then leave to treat another patient. He sat in the chair the majority of the 5 hours. He was not even seen until 11:39am, when his appointment was at 10am. It is clear that west coast dental cares more about quantity of patients being seen than the quality of one patient at a time. We are so disappointed that this kind of dental care is provided here. We called and spoke to the office manager, ******* *. and by her initial defense of the dentist it is clear that this treatment of patients is common. No one should go in for a ***** hour max procedure when they were scheduled originally and leave 5 hours later, having sat in a chair for the majority of the 5 hours. Please find another dental Office to go to. We will be finding a family dental office that cares for seeing one patient at a time and finishing their work before moving on to another patient. This kind of work and practice provided by West Coast Dental of ********** is unacceptable. No care was given for the patient or concern for thier time.Review fromAndrea J

1 starCanyon Dental Group Valencia under West Coast Dental. Do NOT go here for ortho treatment. Would give zero stars. There is fraud going on with their billing team or they are completely incompetent. We had a contract with them for ortho services and paid our share after insurance coverage. Our contract that we paid included the cost of monthly tightening visits. They then charged us an additional fee of 129$ for tightening braces monthly. A collection agency sent us the bill 5 months later, without the office sending these monthly claims to insurance. We were also charged for services on days that we were not there at all which is fraud. They say it was an internal billing error but will not fix it. They have avoided my calls, emails and in person visits to fix the billing issue. This has been ongoing months with no response. They have also booked us for an appointment to remove the braces per my request and then we show up and the state they don't have an appointment for us in the system.Review fromMonica D

1 starOn February 2, 2024, I endured an excessive wait time of over three hours for a procedure that was not completed as promised. The explanation given was that the office was short-staffed and the dentist was too busy, which was disconcerting given the appointment was scheduled well in advance. This incident was not isolated, as my subsequent visit on March 16, 2024, also resulted in an unacceptable delay. Despite arriving only eight minutes late for an 11 AM appointment, I was informed that I would have to wait an additional one and a half to two hours. This disregard for scheduled appointment times is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for patients' time.Furthermore, when I attempted to address my concerns with a manager on the same day, I was repeatedly put on hold and asked redundant questions by the front desk clerk, only to be told that a manager would return my calla call I have yet to receive. This lack of communication and proper customer service has left me with no ********************** but to cancel all future appointments and cease any further business with your establishment.I had hoped to give your office another chance, but the repeated negative experiences have eroded my trust in your ability to provide reliable and professional dental care. I urge you to address these operational issues promptly to prevent further erosion of patient trust and satisfaction. On top of my disappointing experience, although I got charge to my insurance all the promise work that was not performed, I request a review and adjustment of the charges applied to my account for recent *******************************************. On my initial visit, I received an X-ray and a filling for an upper molar. However, I noticed that my bill reflects additional services that I did not receive on that day. I kindly ask that you revise the billing to accurately reflect only the services provided during my first appointment. I believe there may have been a misunderstanding or an errorReview fromMonica P

1 starWARNING: DO NOT GO TO THE ******* LOCATION ON ******************************** This place was late on my appointment, quoted me a ridiculous amount ($1,120) for a regular cleaning despite my insurance covering regular cleanings, and essentially did not want to perform a regular cleaning because they were too busy. My appointment was at 12:30. I didn't see the dentist until 2pm. The dentist said everything came out fine with the x-rays. I explained that I wanted a regular cleaning since I had not been to the dentist in 6 months and was due (I also explained that I asked for this when I set up my appointment and they said they would do a cleaning for sure, they just had to assess whether I needed a regular or deep cleaning through the x-rays). I insisted that I wanted a regular cleaning and ***************************** finally said "Ok, fine" walking out of the office clearly upset. Then comes ********* (*************** again insisting that I schedule the cleaning for another day since they are busy, the dentist would need to perform the cleaning and he isn't as good as their specialist, and that I would have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time. "If you care about your health, you should wait," she added, clearly upset. She went ahead to quote me for $1,120 even after I explained that my insurance covers regular cleanings and that I have never had to pay for a regular cleaning in my entire lifetime of 40 years. They essentially added all these unnecessary services to my quote to discourage me from getting a cleaning that day. This is not ethical and I wish there was a way of ensuring that this place closes down. It was sad to see a lot of Spanish-speaking families who just waited there for their extremely late appointments and are probably being charged for unnecessary items. Breaks my heart!
