I used EVgo charging station and it damaged my car. I am unable to charge my car anywhere else but there and at home.

I smelled a light burn smell when I charged my car. I didn't think much of it but then I tried to charge my car at a charge point and it didn't work. I had to go back to EVgo and charge.

I had to get my car towed to fiat and they told me the charging port was damaged and that it needed to be replaced. But they were able to charge it and I could charge it at home.

I contacted EVgo and they kept making excuses not to pay for the damages to my car.

I have never had an issue

Then they tried to say it was damaged bc my car port was dirty which it was a bit dirty but I used charge point weeks before.

Anyway I asked for a hire *** number / email and I wasn't given the information

I just want them to fix the damages they cause to my car

After a very careful and thorough investigation by our internal teams, it was determined that none of the chargers **. ***** charged at were faulty. The issue was her vehicle and the lack of regular maintenance to the vehicle and charging port. I'm attaching an estimate from **. ***** and the picture of her charging port, which you will see, has thick debris that is not maintained as recommended by the manufacturer. In addition, **. ***** couldn't identify which charger she claims damaged her vehicle. The first one she claimed damaged her port was ***** which doesn't even show in her charge log that she charged on that one. After testing that charger that she named, we found there was no issue with the charger; customers are still using it successfully without issue.

      Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2022/10/17) */
I spoke to Fiat and they told me the dirt on my charge port should not have been an issue. Fiat confirmed that my car's charging port is damaged. I have never had this issue before. I have proof I used EVGO charging stations right before I couldnt charge my car anymore. EVGO is avoiding paying for damages and trying to make it seem like their charging station didnt cause damage. I have receipts of the times and stations I used. EVGO should have them too. I am currently waiting on FIATs email regarding my statement above "dirt shouldnt have caused damage to the charge port"
