The academic side of the film program could be 10x better than it is. My mentor was really great though and I was able to grow my network in the film industry, which is a huge part of getting into film. You have to be really, really proactive, this program is definitely for the self-motivated and self-starter type of people. Overall, I feel I learned a great deal by taking this course. My academic advisor, ****, was excellent. The hands-on experience I got in the studio was invaluable, and the studio I was assigned to gave me an internship when the course ended. Interesting reading some of the other reviews here. Since this is a mentor/apprentice program it is important that you choose the right mentor. My mentor has been dope. His knowledge of the equipment and attacking the genre of music you are trying to create let me focus on being creative rather than being a frustrated tech. Remember, you don't have to take the first mentor you are offered, although from what I can tell the Recording Connection does a pretty good job of matching you with the right one first time out.Recording Radio Film Connection, Inc.

***** We agree! It is all about the student's work ethic and the mentor we place you with. We have transfer privileges if it doesn't work out with a mentor. But in your case, it sounds like it is working out great. We are 8 out of 10, nobody is perfect. (Smile) But when we have a mismatch we correct it. The Film connection initial sold me on a mentor with truly incredible connections and state of the art equipment. Unfortunately for me he had passed away days before I had called but the school still had started me with him leaving only his business partners who did not do video as a main career to figure out what to do with me. Luckily for me one of them did it as a side job and was able to teach me as well as he could and was incredible patient with me because the school put me in a really bad spot after taking my money. My mentor ended up being a great guy who has and continues to help me, but the experience wasn't anything like I was sold on. On top of that the online courses while interesting only teach you the barebones and really focus on you making your own movie not really making a career which is the opposite of what I was told during my initial phone call. My connections from the school were all nice but not particularly enthusiastic about my work or the programs shortcomings. The most unforgivable part and reason for the low scorer this was the career services. You have one year from graduation to work with them and it took 7 months for me to hear back from them after my first (multiple) attempts to get in contact. After getting in contact and making my resume I never heard from them again. Someone else unrelated from career services did contact me out of the blue with 1 interview that didn't lead to any work.I don't completely regret doing the program because I met a lot of great people, my mentor who has been a great asset to me, and I now am looking for work in a field I love although it would have been nice to have received some help afterwards but I guess thats a ****** that goes along with the program. If you are looking into trying this my advice would be call and meet with your potential mentor and ask alot of questions, if it seems like a good fit and they are very active with video work it may be worth it but if not consider other optionsRecording Radio Film Connection, Inc.

I would give one zero if I could. Life ruining and flat out predatory. I was lied to by some eager sales rep who was only seeing money signs and not only listening to what I was telling him as a person with a disability covered under Americans With Disability act but told this was a podcasting program, that I would have teachers, structure, studio time and even other classmates. Could not be further from the truth. I told him I had severe PTSD and I needed those things. Instead I got my materials well after the course started, a mentor who was great but I have radio mentors as I did that for 10 years and what I needed was audio engineering help, for that I was given an incredibly complex software and told by advisor 1 to learn it on ******** I had a nervous break shortly after, needed time off. Advisor 1 was the most unhelpful and condescending human imaginable, I was never allowed to talk to anyone above my advisor, I didnt get help getting my microphone set up until they so kindly let me switch to advisor 2 who had a great personality and tried to be as helpful as possible but also did not understand the severity of my condition. I was pressured into this course while I was receiving neuro feedback and found I had some other medical problems and had told them and at my doctors advice to put this off. He pushed, starting the program two months later but I still wasnt better. This was a really big deal to me and now Im going to have to file bankruptcy. This is horrific, the complete opposite of what I needed returning to school after 30 years. Nothing promised was delivered on. I was also made to take a test while I was having treatments on my brain. Look at the, listen to the recordings, read my doctors note and please have the decency to have someone who can fix this and not gaslight me contact me immediately because I wont have any issues proving this. I finally gave up because there was no accommodation for CPTSD. Thats against the law.Recording Radio Film Connection, Inc.

Great program!! The chapters have been very insightful. The fact it was an one on one teaching program was a huge help. I get along very well with my teacher. I've improved so much and I'm excited for what's next now that I'm almost graduated. Seems like it could be a great school. We paid for our son and, since it's his college money, paid for it all upfront instead of one class at a time. This seemed economical as it gave him a discount. Problem was, he started with good intentions, but realized at his first online class that it didn't give him the education he needed or wanted and he stopped attending classes. We've been working at getting back his college money for the unused classes he never took. We call several times a month. At first, we got "we are looking into it" and "we are working on determining what we can do" etc., etc. They ask for time, we gave the week they requested, but now it's been months. For the last few months, we leave messages with no return phone calls. ****** learned, don't pay ahead of time unless it's an accredited University/College. He can't pay for another college until he gets that money returned. Not good business practices with this training school.Recording Radio Film Connection, Inc.

We have requested a withdrawal request in writing 4 times. But we have still not received your written confirmation. Perhaps your son forgot to tell you?
We have left multiple messages for your son but our calls have gone unreturned.
We are a licensed school and have been compliant for over 40 years. We of course are proud of our educational services but understand this may not have been right for your son. Sometimes young people forget to follow protocols but we are happy to work with you direct.
