On 13 June 2025 my QuickBooks Online account **************** was permanently blocked immediately after I activated Tap-to-Pay. Two-factor SMS was active. 1321 Jun Tier-2 support said they cannot remove it. No human response has been *********** of today, I have been locked out for 17 days, cannot access four years of accounting data, issue invoices, or comply with *** record-keeping laws.Desired resolution: 1. I am reaching out to you about a charge that occurred on my account for $209 on April 14, 2025. During the process of filing my taxes I chose the free edition. When I got to the end, I was ready to efile for $284 that I owed. Unfortunately, and without any prompt I was charged $209 for a product called "live assisted premium." Immediately I reached out to someone in the live chat and she told me that she could not process the refund but would be happy to give me 10% for my troubles. I declined and told her that I wanted to receive the full $209 back since I did not use the "live assisted premium." She again told me she could do nothing. I then called turbo tax and spoke to a gentleman who said that I must file a refund request and that it would take a long time, weeks perhaps. I sent my refund request as he instructed. I waited a couple weeks and received nothing. I then called another person and she laughed and told me that multiple people had had the same issue and not to worry that since I already filed a refund request it should be on its way. I waited again and nothing. I then called a third time, the gentleman that I spoke to said I should have received an answer within 48 hours and that the team in charge of looking over these refund requests can "see" if I had used the product or not. He instructed me to file the refund request again, and I did. I then received an email less than 24 hours after my phone call with him that said, "TurboTax Online can be used at no cost up until the point that you submit payment. Once payment has been received, the product is considered to have been used to prepare your taxes regardless of whether you print or electronically file your return or if its rejects." I am very frustrated by this and I want it to be refunded. Thank you!Business Response

I am filing a complaint against Intuit **** for charging me for a subscription service that I never used and then refusing to issue a full refund despite repeated requests.I started a free trial subscription with Intuit in January 2025. After the free trial ended, the subscription automatically renewed, and I was charged for a paid subscription. However, I have never used or accessed the paid service since the free trial expired.Since the date of purchase, I have not used the service at all not once. I realized the subscription had been renewing without my knowledge and contacted Intuit support to request a refund, explaining that the service was never accessed or used.Instead of honoring a refund for the full unused period, they offered only a partial refund for the most recent month and claimed that it is the customers responsibility to cancel or use the product. They also argued that this is similar to an insurance or gym membership an analogy that does not apply, as I received zero value, no service, and no access was made.I believe this is an unfair and unethical billing practice. Intuit continues to charge for a service that provided no utility, no support, and no engagement. This violates the spirit of fair commerce, where businesses are expected to deliver some level of value in return for customer payments.I am requesting that ******************** issue a full refund for the unused subscription period from January 2025 through the current date, as no services were rendered and the product was never accessed.A full refund for the unused subscription from January 2025 through June 2025.Business Response

Was unaware of the $140 charge that this company was going to charge me to process a simple tax return. While going through the online process to do a simple tax return, it gives you the option 3-4 times throughout the process to upgrade to higher premium packages. I clearly selected the free simple version every time throughout this process but even doing so in the end their software defaulted and upgraded my tax return package to the higher premium package without my knowledge. It was done in a very deceitful manner as it didn't change the cost to process the return until I was in the final moments of signing the documents and tried to slip it into the final paperwork without me knowing until afterwards. So essentially intuit turbotax changed my total cost to process my taxes from free to $140 unknown to myself on the very last part of the signing process. That is like going to buy a car and you negotiate the price, but the company changes the total cost of the car at the last minute on the last page of signing portion right before you are done fully signing without properly disclosing the changes. They did this thinking I would not know bc it was set to be deducted out of my tax refund amount directly, but since they couldn't take the amount out of my refund they debited my bank account without my authorization. Moral of the story they made me think my taxes were going to be free, and then at the last minute of me filing when I was literally signing the final documents, they switched the cost total to $140 to process my tax return hoping to take it out of the total refund and hoping I would never realize it and hoping I wouldn't say anything or would not care. I bet they do this to many people without that person knowing they could have gotten more money back from their tax return. It is literally the perfect scam to pull in this situation, and many people probably never realize whats been done. Most people think offset from govt. Big time Scam here by intuit!Business Response

I received an invoice for $313 from Intuit tax prep and when I called to dispute this 3 times because I was only supposed to be charged for one service not two Services I was told that the higher amount would be refunded before it hit my account and that they would adjust it on 3 separate occsasions and I was told not to worry about it that it was all taken care of on their end. I continue to get invoices that this was not taking care of for three more times I reached out and all three times each customer service person told me that I would not be charged for the service of a live tax prep person and then I still got hit with it so I filed a complaint and to get that refunded and again I was turned down even though they have voice recordings and three people through customer service adamantly told me I was not going to be charged the higher amount as this was something that was going on in their system and that it was a mistake. The refund I should have received was around $238. I have used Quickbooks for 14 years as a business owner. Lately, I have been trying to correct an error I made when "Reconciling" my accounting. I need to undo the errors, but the system will not allow me to do so without having an "Accountant" account. I have no other need for that type of account and should not have to pay extra (I assume) to have control over my own accounting software. To make matters worse, I cannot even find a way to change my account from business owner to accountant. Once again, the Intuit corporation is forcing me to add expenses just to continue running my business. They make us entirely reliant on their products, then try to squeeze every extra dollar they can. It's unethical, and this type of monopolistic behavior ought to be illegal.Business Response

I called quickbooks for support to get an issue fixed with my quickbooks online. They told me that their software was not updating on my account due to errors. I was never notified that there was an issue and apparently it has been going on for a long time. Additionally, they want to charge me to fix their own software and save my data. I believe this is completely unreasonable as it is their software that is not functioning properly since it is an online platform. They are either creating the problem or setting up the accounts in a manner that if they don't pay enough, they have to pay for additional service. I paid for me to be able to do minimal and basic accounting a payroll. That should be covered.Business Response
