Hello,I was issued a citation parking ticket in the amount of $138.00 (citation # TP40048928) by the **************** for parking outside my own house on 1/24/2022. The citation notice directed all payments to ************************************, which is owned and operated by Data Ticket, **** I paid the ticket in full on 7/7/2022 as seen in the supporting documents. Following this, I received a registration renewal notice in the mail in which payment for the same ticket was requested, with a due date of 9/10/2022. I attempted to contact Data Ticket Inc. / citationprocessingcenter to update the city / DMV with the status of the tickets payment with no success. The only option to contact them is through their automated customer support line, which puts you on hold to speak to a representative and then disconnects the call after 10 minutes with no warning. After attempting contact for almost 2 months, I was forced to again pay the full $138.00 to the **** Once again, I tried to contact Data Ticket Inc. / citationprocessingcenter for them to issue a refund, but found no recourse. To receive my money back, I was forced to request a chargeback through my bank. Following this, I received notice in the mail from Data Ticket Inc. / citationprocessingcenter of the chargeback, and that an additional fee of $33.50 would be added to the $138.00, totaling $171.50 now owed, despite the numerous attempts to contact both before and after payment to the **** As of today, 5/3/2023 I was notified by the franchise tax board that part of my state tax refund would be garnished to address this outstanding $171.50 fee. So I have now effectively been charged and paid $309.5 for the same parking ticket, with no resolution.Its clear that this company is engaging in fraudulent charging without notifying the city of the ticket payment status for their own benefit. The seem to have good accounting practices only when it benefits their bottom line.Business Response

The 7/7/2022 payment was charged back on a dispute initiated from your credit card company. Additionally, a notification was mailed 9/13/22.
Payment was made to the **** but only $201 was applied to the fees as the *** hold had been recalled on 7/8/22 due to your payment. The *** provided information on the payment "The citation was not paid. On 09/02/2022, the customer paid $339 online but when the transaction was cleared on 12/28/2022 the citation was no longer due and only $201 was applied to registration fees. My elderly father uses a handicap placard. On 4/10/23 he forgot to place it while parking. He received a parking ticket. On the back of the ticket, it states go to the CitationProcessingCenter.com website to pay the ticket. It also states if one needs to appeal, then to "attach the handicap registration" and to "complete the administrative review form". There is nothing like this on the website. I have tried calling numerous times and I am unable to get anyone on the line and when I am holding, the site disconnects me. The ticket is still not listed on the site for reference as well. It states there will be a penalty if it is not paid within 21 days. It is now day 14 and it is still not listed nor can I speak to anyone at the center and there is no reference to the materials stated on the back of the ticket. My father does not deserve this treatment and the customer service is horrible. My father should not have to pay for this ticket and should be able to have due process and proper customer service in order to appeal. I have a picture of the placard and ticket. By ignoring customers and redirecting them to a point of exhaustion is elder abuse. All we want to do is resolve it per the directions.Business Response

My CA tax return was garnished by the Citation Processing Center for a citation that did not belong to me and was resolved with documentation (several times). The company is impossible to get in touch with via phone and they do not return calls if you do get to a point to leave your number. My notice number is TW1234247106 and my citation occurred after I sold the vehicle. I provided the release of liability to the *********** within 3 days and it was recorded by the state before the citation date. I have provided official documentation to the Citation Processing Center after waiting months for the state to provide it to me. The copy I had on hand was not accepted after several attempts to submit. It is unacceptable that this agency steals from your tax returns and they should be held accountable for the theft of the public. I will attach my documents again to this form.Business Response

On 12/21/22 I received a parking ticket in the ********************* in the amount of $45, which uses the Citation Processing Center (Dataticket) for citation payment processing. I contested the ticket and was informed by letter that my reason for protesting was not accepted, and I paid the ticket by check by mail in early January. I did not hear any more about the ticket until I received a notice threatening vehicle impoundment on 3/15/23 which said I had "previously failed to respond to requests for payment". This notice was for $130, whereas the original amount of the ticket was $45. In other words, although I had received NO notices beyond the notice stating my contest was denied, substantial penalties were added to this ticket. In checking my bank records I realized my check had never been cashed. I have the carbon copy of my check. By this point in time, according to the notice, it is too late to request a hearing, and Dataticket is now threatening lien on my vehicle as well as vehicle impoundment (see uploaded document). Obviously I did not request a hearing in time because I had absolutely no idea my check had never been cashed. I have uploaded the notice from ********************* c/o Citation Processing Center (Dataticket), as well as my receipt for the $133.50 ($130 + $3.50 convenience fee) payment and a photo of the carbon copy of my check. I am requesting a refund of $88.50, which is $133.50 less the $45 amount of the original ticket.Business Response

Data Ticket did not send me any late notices until last week, at which point the amount of penalties exceeded the cost of the original ticket. If Data Ticket cannot issue the requested refund, I will file a dispute with my credit company and withdraw the payment aside from the original $45 cost of the original ticket.Business Response

On December 24, 2022, I received Citation #*************************************************************** from the Citation Processing Center, ********************************************************* about parking violation for **** with ******* license plate ****** at 12:40 AM, 11/6/22 at ****** Beach in the *********************** in *******.This Citation (#*****) from the City of *************** ******* does not apply to me for the following reasons:1.I never owned a ****.2.The ******* plate indicated in this citation was used on my 2018 ***** Tahoe, but this car was sold to the Napleton Car dealer in ******** on June 30, 2022 (see attached Bill of Sale), and I kept the plate in my safe at home in ******** until I brought it back to ******* on November 12, 2022. 3.One month later, on December 12, 2022, both this plate (48AVIZ), and the title to the 2014 VW Passat (initially registered in ********), were transferred to ******* at the ********************* in ******** (see attached registration for my VW Passat).4.I had been in ******** since end of March 2022 and returned to ******* on November 12, 2022, and I could not possibly have been present at 12:40 AM, 11/6/22 at ****** Beach in the ***********************. As a matter of fact, I have never been at ****** Beach. 5.I have plenty of records that show my travel dates from ******** to ******* between 11/11/2022 and 11/12/2022 to prove that I was not in ******* and that the plate 48AVIZ ** was always in my possession.6.All attempts to call Citation Processing Center failed since no one is answering their phone. I received a Delinquent Parking Infraction (notice number - TW **********) on 12/06/2022 asking me to pay $55. It is a false ticket and has several errors. The make of my car is wrong, I have never been to the location mentioned in the ticket and my car was in the garage at the time noted in the ticket. I went to the website www.citationprocessingcenter.com to appeal. The website states that people can appeal up to 14 days after receiving the notice. But when I try to appeal, the website says that I am past the due date for appeal. I would like this to be removed from my record.Business Response

I received a notice, notice number TW1233891889, I tried calling multiple times and it was always very difficult to get through a representative. This was a ticket for a dog license. I sent the dog license information to the officer, unfortunately they still sent my ticket to the ticket processing center even though I was told that this would waved. On June 29, ************************************************** know that the balance now due was $281.81 I called them that same day to make a payment of $185.50 and told the agent I would have to go to the bank to deposit the remaining balance. I did as I had promised and on June 30 a second payment for $99.50 was was posted zeroing and should have closed this citation. It is now October 18, 2022 and my landlord has been receiving multiple notices that there is still a balance of $157.53. He has also informed me that he will be putting me in violation of rental agreement. Ive called multiple times they either hang up on you at the 12 minute **** and expect you to answer, if they do call without taking into consideration that some of us have to work and only have a our lunch to make these phone calls. Even if you are next in line on a call they will still hang up on you. Ive been told there is no office, all you could do is call or write a letter. Not a good thing when you have a family and you are risking loosing what your kids call home because a company decides to be hard to reach. For many of us time is essence. When I processed both my payments I called to make sure they had gone through and I did with a live agent. Ive seen the response this company gives to others who have had a similar situation and its always As a courtesy, or a late fee was issued a day before I paid with a live agent and I called both times. I have received the ticket of $48 by ************** for parking violation and it was processed by Citation processing center . I had requested for an appeal on 06/07/2022 after filing the request the website said it will mail me a letter with the appeal results . I waited and in month of August 2022 I received a letter asking to pay for $132 . I call the citation processing center and they said they have send me appeal results in the mail on June 9 2022 which is false as i did not receive any letter from them and I have proof with the **** informed delivery which shows all the incoming and outgoing mails on my account . The response I got from Citation processing center over the phone is its not their problem. I asked them if I can see the judge they say I dont have any options left Just pay the ticket .Instead of being courteous and helping citizens withoud jobs during this rough time of pandemic and inflation rate skyrocketing This citation processing center is giving hard time .Business Response
