Hire a Helper offered the best quote for unloading my POD. I made a reservation and received a confirmation. The next day I got a call stating that the contractor who gave the low bid was unavailable, but would I like to work with another contractor who is available for a mere $200 more. Classic bait and switch. The only upside is that the company refunded my money quickly and without question.

Thank you for the feedback ******. We are sorry to hear the service provider selected was not available. Summer is a busy time in the moving industry and schedules are tight for everyone including the service providers listing on our platform. We appreciate you sharing your experience and will work to improve the ******************** required to successfully match the people needing help moving with ***************** doing the moving.

0/5 Stars. Initially the process was easy and smooth. Soon as my appointment was confirmed, the service provider sent a text cancelling the work. I called the company asking what had happened and they apologized and offered to find another service provider. They called back saying the original service provider is now available. I should've cancelled the order then but agreed with using the original service provider. When placing the order, I asked for a ladder since the boxes will be unloaded from a container, and be flexible with times so I texted them to confirm. They gave me the ** that providing a ladder is not standard and they cannot work more than 2 hours. They should not have accepted the work if they could not accept either. Since this all happened within a 24 hour window, they refuse to refund the amount. FYI, the customer service reps answer calls between 9-5pm. This is ridiculous as well. Don't use these guys.

0/5 stars. Hire a helper does not communicate properly with the movers they contract with. I set up a move through them, and they told me that if I needed to reschedule, I could do it through the local company. I contacted the local company twice, and kept getting text confirmations for the original date. Then on the original date, they charged my card for the full amount even though no move was scheduled. Now I'm in the middle of an extremely expensive move, missing $400 from my account. I spoke with them, and they agreed to refund it, but all I've gotten so far is a confirmation of the cancellation and a verbal promise that the money will be refunded.

I used Hire A Helper to unload my moving truck into a storage unit after traveling cross country on 2/9/22. It was a ********** for me. The guys were prompt, courteous, and did a great job. I'm about to try and book them to move my stuff from the storage unit to my new place.

Took advantage of elderly.Quoted my 80 year old father "$250 for the first two hours, and then $100 each additional hour". Then finished loading in one hour 10 minutes, I handed them $250 in cash and ****************************************** demanded $350. He also told my ******* ****** leave Hire a Helper out of it and you can text me and pay me directly."DO NOT USE THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY.

A total nightmare company. The first set of movers tried to scam the company and asked me to pay them direct and cancel Hire a helper. Their name is ********** movers. I said no and the guy was a complete jerk to me. I refused to have them in my home. They sent out new movers and they didnt know what they were doing. They dropped my couch and broke it. The company takes no responsibility for the problems their company hires. They offered me $.60 per pound for the damage. Seriously, my new couch cost way more than that. This company will reap what they sow. They do people wrong and it will catch up to them someday.

Hire A Helper had my stuff moved in a decent time frame. The problem was when one of the workers from the moving company got hurt and canceled mid job. They found a new company to finish the job but insisted that I pay the significant difference in price and pay for a full job even though it had been started and we didn't need the full amount of time anymore. They were also unable to find anyone until almost 12 hours after the job had been started. This meant we couldn't start unpacking early in the morning as planned and had to wait until the job was finished that night.

I used hire a helper to load the truck. The guys were awesome. We had it set up ******* moving to help ** unload in *********,**. ****. Hire a hire a helper called ** at the time the helpers weee supposed to show up. Said that ******* were short staffed and couldnt be there . My husband , brother and I unloaded a 26 foot fully packed uhaul by ourselves!!!!! We are seniors. The ******* moving company emailed me next day with an apology. Saying they had people ready to come out to help but their affiliations with hire a helper ended ****. And were told they would find us help. Nasty nasty business ways. If hire a help knew They were ending ties with company , why did they let us book service with them . And why didnt they set up help for us sooner than the scheduled time . Nasty nasty way of doing business.

We rented a Budget truck to move from ************ to ******. The Hire a Helper service was excellent on both ends and the crews we used were on time, respectful of property and very experienced in loading and loading our truck. Vyking ********** in ** managed to fit a lot more into our truck than we could have done. ************** in ****** had the truck unloaded very quickly. We would recommend both of these companies. They were easy to find using the Hire A Helper service.
