We purchased a $50 gift card from Applebees @ ***************************************************************** and earned a $10 bonus card. Upon our first visit after that purchase we attempted to use the $10 card and was told it couldn't be accepted because it wasn't registered. Today, May 5, 2024 we went to the same restaurant for lunch and attempted to use the $50 gift card purchased at that restaurant only to be told there was no money on the card. We have been cheated out of $60.00 by this restaurant.Initial Complaint

I have two issues to report. The first one is that in the womens bathroom, the middle stalls toilet is missing/ripped out. They have the hole stuffed with some sort of paper/cloth but the fumes from the sewage are really strong in the bathroom & coming out into the restaurant. It is really disgusting and concerning. Second, they are repeatedly double charging every time you use a credit card. They charge the amount without the tip & then the amount with the tip. The amount without tip is a pending charge that eventually falls off but you are out the money in your bank account for over a week until the extra charges finally drop off. In this case, there is an extra $101.87 in pending charges. So, instead of the $128.87 being deducted from my accounts, there are $230.74 in charges until that additional $101.87 pending charge drops off. What if someone does not have enough to cover the second charge & receives an insufficient funds charge from their bank? What if they need that money in their bank but can not access it due to the extra pending charges. I have brought this to their attention multiple times and they still continue to charge my card twice and make me wait a week until they drop the pending extra charge. They should only legally be able to debit your card for the agreed upon amount and not $1 more. They certainly should not be allowed to place two pending charges one with and one without the tip and make you wait a week before dropping be second charge. No business should ever be allowed to debit your card for any more than you sign for under any circumstance.Initial Complaint

I arrived at applebee's around 10:00 p.m. and sat at the bar. A man came out to let us know the server was on break and would be with us shortly After aroubd fifteen minutes a woman came to take our order. It was a longer than usual wait but we were conversing with others whike we waited. We then smelled burning from the kitchen and wondered if it was our food. We only had appetizers so we didn't think it was our food. Onceof food arrived I was excited my mozzarella sticks were fresh however my boneless wings looked dry. I tried one it was a little tuff so I let it sit awhile and tried another it was the same. The server never offered to have them remade or removed from the bill. The setvice was do slow we just asked for our checks. Once my check came I asked if the apppetizers were a part of the late night menu. She stated only Monday through Friday. I asked if she was sure because we came before on a Saturday and they were half off. She insisted I was charged correctly. I disagreed but didn't want to make a scene However I didnt see anything on the website on inside the restaurant that stated this. I would like to be refunded and maybe some time to investigate if they are short staffed or inexperienced. Everyone should be aware of prices as well as the quality of the food. I only ate two out of the eight wings. I asked for a box to take a picture of how they were served. This is the worst experience at an applebee's and I dont plan on returning.Initial Complaint

I placed order # ***************** online at approximately 3:57PM on April 2nd from the ********************************************* location and the website was messing up and it went through as a pick up order and not a delivery order as I intended. I called the restaurant and one of the workers said she would get the manager never came after several minutes. I called back later and was able to speak to the manager but he said he couldn't cancel the order or change the order to a pick up order. I then contacted IHOP on ******** and a rep forwarded my complaint and the regional manager emailed me and I responded but I have not heard back from him yet.Initial Complaint

We visited this location after noon on 4/5/2024. Staff were making inappropriate conversation at the register, our waiter never came to check on us, only peeked his head around the booth once, I had to wave someone down for drink refills, food order was wrong for both of the children, and then after paying our over $70 tab and choosing not to tip him, he tried to charge my card $5 for his tip after I walked out of the restaurant; he attempted a fraudulent debit card transaction. My card blocked it as I keep it locked but I have sent proof to the chain with no response whatsoever. This is NOT okay! I am requesting a refund on at least a portion of my tab for the horrible service, wrong food order, & attempted debit card fraud that I have spend time on trying to solve this issue.Customer Answer

I placed a Doordash order and part of that order was not delivered. When I contacted the restaurant, located at ***************************************************************, I was told that they would not deliver the missing item. My husband took me for a post birthday lunch/dinner meal and to get my "free" birthday dessert. Now, while the trainee and reg server were nice to us, that doesn't excuse "poor" customer treatment, which I felt a couple of times. First time, when I mentioned that I wanted the free treat, the reg server said I could only get a "small" brownie or one other thing. However, I knew I "saw" something different on the email I got. I've gotten my treat in years past and wasn't told what to get. I just relooked at the email before starting this complaint and it clearly states "any" dessert free with order of $15 or more. My husband spent ***** before taxes and the $5.00 (perhaps still too much for the way I felt about things I'm complaining about here) for a total rendered of $46.92. I had to later show her the email, because I knew that didn't ring right, and then she allowed. However, maybe because I did call her out on it, when I did get my dessert after the meal, it was a tiny scoop (we both thought so) of ice cream, not even enough to accompany the lava cake it was with. Our fries were few and not really fresh tasting, and his ***** half rack ribs were seemingly small as well. Finally, I'm a soda drinker, we both are, and asked for to go drinks, because the Pepsi was very good, the trainee brought to small (again, with the small) cups. But I asked because I really don't appreciate that, if they had a bigger cup and he said yes, but they didn't have lids. I asked if he'd give me at least because my husband would be fine with the small and my husband confirmed, I didn't have to have the lid and he said he would. It was murder getting home without the lid, but I wanted a large to drink. An establishment, such as Applebee's that's been around over 40 years should have lids for all the to go cups. And really, overall, we clearly (me especially) felt cheated on the entire visit.Initial Complaint

On April 4th 2024 in the Pm hours late at night. Id say. Around 9:30 pm. I walked into the I Hop on Union Deposit in *************. Seated in a booth. And what a ( beyond) disgusting the place was. Then I order food. My food came out all " burnt ". Cold. And horrible. I took photos. Sent them to I hop Corporate on their Web site. Some guy calls me from a 571 #. I sent photos of food. Asking if they would want or eat burnt food. I requested my money back. I got ignored. Today 4/9/24 I again contact said 571# requesting a refund. Sending photos again ,which I'll attach to this. Even the biscuits and gravy I ordered was disgusting. With minimal gravy on what appears to be an English muffin with a small amount of gravy on each piece. I know biscuits and gravy should come with at least one of two biscuits with plenty of gravy on it. This I hop has always been a complete disaster since it first opened years ago. Reason why I never recommend it nor go there myself. My two kids hate it there also. I only want my $36 plus I paid in cash back. .Initial Complaint

Dine in at Applebee's on 04/05/2024 a hair was found in my 40 piece boneless wings. Management never came out until I requested them. Another 20 piece was prepared and was charged to my bill. Then they took off the 20 piece like it was discount. I actually paid more than I expected to. It least half off on the wings should've been offered but wasn't. I love the restaurant but won't go back because of the experience and how it was not resolved.
