on 11/29/22 i sent $ ********* to ironplanet to buy a truck. the owner of the truck pulled out of the sale after i sent the money.it took ironplanet 45 days to send my money back .and the refund was short by$2,078.i called to ask why they only sent $46,274.93.he said its because the ******** and american dollar had changed over the 45 days.i went on to tell him that i should not have to pay that since it was the sellers fault.plus they held on to my money for 45 days so they could claim that.i told him he should get it from the seller since he is the one that caused it.he said they do not do that [sounds like they protect the seller] in conclusion i would like bbb.to negoshiate to get my money back.Business Response

Hello,
We called and emailed the buyer regarding the amount difference on his refund. Initially we left a voicemail and when he called back we informed him that we did refund the correct amount, however, being that the conversion rate changes day to day that is why he received a different amount. We explained to the customer how this is out of our control and we offered him a Future Purchase Credit of $2,000 to cover the difference. Customer did not like that option and he disconnected the call.

I won an auction through Iron Planet (who's parent company is ******* **** Auctioneers) for a 2015 Bobcat mini excavator on 2/15/2023. I sent a wire transfer to them on 2/16/2023 for $18,497 ($16,250 plus transaction fee of $1200 plus ******** sales tax of $1047). I waited until 2/21/2023 to email their customer service ************************** for confirmation that payment was been received and seeking the release document so I could pick up the item. I received a response with simply "Wire transfer has not been received yet." The following day (2/22/2023), I asked if they received payment again and they again responded that it had not been received. I was then told to have my bank do a trace on the wire transfer, which I did and provided Iron Planet customer service with all of this information only for them to continue to report that they have not received payment. Their bank (***** Fargo) has confirmed they received the funds, but Iron Planet is denying. As of 2/24/2023, Iron Planet stated they were going to have their bank reach out to mine ***************** and I confirmed this morning that they never reached out.Initial Complaint

I purchased a truck from Iron Planet and still haven't received a title although it has been over the 60 day delay period. When I've tried to reach out to Iron Planet title department they seem to have taken the unprofessional approach and not return my calls to fill me in on what's the delay.Business Response

I looked into the problem and can confirm that the refund was requested to **************** on 8th December 2022. However, there was a miscommunication between the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams and the payment was not processed. Please be assured that this was a genuine mistake and we would never intentionally hold onto payments owing to customers. The payment will be processed this morning and you should see the funds in your account within 1-2 business days. On or about December 23 2022 I bid on a scissor lift on Iron planet. There was nothing in the main heading that said the lift was for parts or repair. I bid **** for the lift before I realized it was in operable. I never would have bid if I had known it was a parts only machine. I needed a lift I could put to work immediately. I wanted to rescind my bid but ***************************** wont let you. I did not follow through with the sale and then they hit me with a ******* dollar fee . I feel they are very dishonest when it comes to listing . I paid the ******* but would like to Warn everyone to BEWARE of how they list things and how they make money with fees when you are not allowed to cancel your bid for any reason. I am contacting you regarding the attached BBB complaint which was forwarded to me by my colleague, ****************************
Whilst I appreciate the customers comments, the Inspection Report stated that the electrical system was not operational. Please see an extract of the report below:
The Inspection Reports are included with each item to provide our customers with information to help them make their buying decision. It is the responsibility of the buyer to read these reports before placing any bids but it seems that the buyer did not do so. We sell items on behalf of our sellers and if a buyer decides they do not want any item or makes a mistake, we are unable to pay our sellers and this impacts our reputation.
If a buyer does not pay for an item, we prohibited them from doing business with us again as we cannot risk repeat behavior. If the buyer pays a Default Fee we will allow them to bid again and this is what the US$ ******** fee was for. On this occasion, as I believe the buyer made a genuine mistake in not reading the Inspection Report fully, I will reach out to him and refund him the Default Fee on the understanding that should this happen again, he will have to pay the fees if he wants to continue to do business with us.
Please let me know if you require any further information or action on my part.

The machine DOES run. I'll give them that much... but there was a diesel fuel leak, the tires were shot, MULTIPLE bent and broken parts including fenders and cowling. The main hydraulic cylinder needs to be *********. The radiator fan blades were broken. They used black paint on the dash display to cover up a warning light. These are only a few of the issues I had with this purchase. And IronClad Guarantee? HA! That's as big a load of bull**** as their pre-sale inspection of the machine. Do yourself a favor. I am writing to you in response to the attached complaint which was sent to my colleague ****************************
We appreciate the customers feedback but feel that the condition of the unit was shown prior to the sale. There were 97 photos included with this item and I believe that he also spoke to our Regional Operations Manager ********************* after the sale of this unit, to discuss his issues. **** went through each of the customers complaints one by one and ***************** even admitted to **** that he had overlooked several of the issues shown on the photos. The concrete on the machine was shown in the photos, the bailing line around the axle was shown, some plastic which was wrapped around another axle was also shown, the ******************* on the display again was shown in the photos. The wiring holding the engine door closed was also shown on the photos. ***************** also had a complaint about the radiator fan blades and **** acknowledged this and told ***************** that we would compensate him as this was something that clearly happened post inspection. ***************** was going to get a quote for repair of the fan blades which he had already worked on but could not recall the labor cost. **** also told ***************** to include the leaks on the repair estimate. Despite **** reaching out to Mr on several occasions but was unable to reach him and ***************** did not come back with the repair estimate. ***************** has Matts contact numbers.
On this occasion we feel that the condition of the unit was clearly visible form the photos which showed it was in a rough condition and we also tried to assist the customer post-sale in respect to the fan blades.

I've purchased a trailer from Iron planet with a dicription of 53' length and then after getting the trailer I noticed that the trailer they sold me is actually a 45', I was trying to resolve it on my own and gave them proof with a release paper wich clearly states that the trailer is a 53' in addition they tampered the information from the description and removed the trailer size.
