I ordered 5 chicks from Feather Lover Farms on 5/27/25. The ship date stated May 2025. I have emailed the contact email on the website 4-5 times and have not received a response. I tried calling the number I found on a good search associated with the company and I was prompted to leave a voicemail on what sounded like someones personal phone.Business Response

On 12-07-2024, I paid Feather Lover Farms a total of $184.40 for four (4) rare day old chickens. I reached out via email on 01-08-2025 to inquire about the status of my order. They replied on 01-16-2025, citing shipping issues and their chickens not laying eggs, being the reasons my order hadnt been fulfilled. I replied the same day and received the next email on 02-01-2025 saying, they can send my chicks to me anytime and asked if I wanted them then or in the Spring. I replied the same day saying I would like my chicks as soon as possible. They replied saying they would send them as soon as possible and they would email me when they shipped. I sent a follow up email on 05-01-2023 asking again what the status of my order was and as of writing this they havent replied. On their website they continue to take orders for the same chickens I ordered five months past the day I ordered.Initial Complaint

I submitted an order for chickens on March 12, 2025. On the receipt itself it said I would receive the chickens in the monthof April. I contacted the company today, April 30, 2025 as I have not received the chickens, asking for a refund. They told me I could only get a 50% refund. I find that unacceptable as they have done nothing. I have received nothing. They were unable to fulfill delivering the chickens to me in the month of April as my receipt states. They failed to fulfill the contract. I should not be penalized for their failure to fulfill a contract. I am canceling due to their failure to fulfill their contract.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have attached the email chain in which I stated several different times for them to cancel the order, before they were shipped. This business did not deliver the chickens as per their own terms. Their receipt clearly indicates they will be delivered in April and they were not. They then told me I would pay a 50% penalty for their refusal to comply with their own terms. I will not be penalized due to their inability to fulfill an order in the time that they indicated. I did pick up the chicks because only an inhumane animal would leave them at the post office to die. I could not get back in touch with the company as they blocked my email and do not have a phone number, per their statement and confirmed by the lack of response to 2 additional emails that were sent. I will gladly return the chicks to the company at their cost and expense.Business Response

Place the order #**** back in early March for an ***** ship date. Never received my order. Had to follow up with an email to the company to which they said I had to change my order to a different type due to lack of inventory. Which we did. Then communication all but disappeared. I placed an order for 3 Seramas chicks 3-7-25. My order was delivered at 3:20pm 4-11-25 and picked up at 340pm. Upon receiving the chicks, one was in very poor condition. Wings sprawled out, not much movement, no chirping. I attempting everything possible to save the chick but it slowly passed 4-12-25. The other seramas in my order started behaving in the same manner and all died the night of 4-12-25. I have sent multiple emails and the only response I have gotten is one asking to leave a review. I have been raising chicks for years and have ordered from multiple hatcheries. I have NEVER lost any chicks I have received. I have also never lost any I have hatched at home. The chicks were in poor health and there was sadly nothing I could do to save them. They have not offered a refund or replacement. I have heard nothing from them regarding this matter. Attached are a picture of the poor posture of the first deceased chick on arrival and a picture of the 3 deceased. My daughter sadly buried the first deceased chick before I could get a picture of it after death.Business Response

I placed an order with Feather Lover Farms on March 3, 2025, for rare breed chicks, including Opal Legbars and a proprietary Zombie breed line. I paid $393.20, which included an extra fee for Express Shipping to ensure live delivery of newly hatched chicks within 12 days.After receiving no confirmed hatch or ship date and minimal communication throughout March, I submitted a formal cancellation request on March 28. The business ignored my request and shipped the chicks anyway on April 1 via **** Priority Mail, a significantly slower service than I paid for.The chicks did not arrive until April 546 days post-hatch. All were dead on arrival or in visibly distressed condition. The box lacked proper ventilation and heating. In addition, the breeds received did not appear to match the order or were misrepresented (e.g., Opal Legbars appeared to be standard Cream Legbars).When I contacted the business, they admitted the incorrect shipping method was used but only offered a partial shipping refund and refused to issue a full refund or properly address the condition and breed mismatch.I have since found multiple online reviews describing similar problems with this business: delayed shipments, refusal to cancel orders, misrepresented breeds, and poor condition upon arrival. I have documented everything including emails, shipping labels, and photos/video of the shipment and chicks.I am requesting a full refund of $393.20 and hope BBB can assist in resolving this issue to prevent further consumer harm.Business Response

This customer attempted to break many of our policies with their order as well as not understanding that **** delayed their package in the mail and caused losses. They then demanded us to send them more chicks and send them upgraded express mail free of charge even though they only paid for the cheaper priority shipping. We always take care of our customers and offer a free order if there are losses. They are very hostile and nt like most of our amazing customers who are friendly and nice to work with. They are emailing us asking for more chicks while their review states they want a refund.... Very complicated customer and we will be refunding them and banning them from our site and emails. I placed an order on 11/4/2024, my order number is 8241. The chicks were originally supposed to ship in December but they never shipped. They finally shipped out 01/13/2025 but then were shipped back to the sender. I emailed them to figure out what was going on because I was under the impression that the chicks were sent to the wrong place and were sitting in the post office, I was on the phone with the post office for hours before I got a response. I reached out to ******* in hopes that feather lover farms would contact me and instead the scolded me for complaining about them to the merchant account.
