We cant say enough good things about FLF. We had experienced a terrible shipment with another mail order hatchery with 1/2 the order arriving sick and not living past the first two days. We were nervous about trying mail purchase with FLF but really wanted those tiny serama babies. The chicks all arrived in great health and very lively from day one. We ordered these babies during the winter when hatching is sparse but they managed to fill our order in the middle of winter. They packed the chicks perfectly with dry effective heat packs. The week they arrived was record freezing temperatures in ***** so I was really worried the chicks would freeze but all 5 birds arrived super healthy and we couldn't be happier. We ordered 3 seramas but because hatching was slow (as winter always is) they arrived a week later than we originally anticipated , FLF generously sent an additional serama and our precious packing peanut Americauna who we love. These birds are so human friendly I cant even believe it. Although the weather was 15 below when they arrived and the post office dallied and shipping took an extra day ( not because of FLFs shipping practice as they express mailed them as expected) but because the postal service gets stuck in ******* sometimes, the birds were in perfect condition and packed so much better than our bad experience with another hatchery. We ordered another shipment for ***** because these guys have such a beautiful selection of rare birds not available elsewhere. Obviously we are huge fans. I tried to get ahold of them and sent email after email for 5 days explaining I had a family emergency and had to fly out of state and please do not send me chickens. As a last ditch effort I filed a claim with my credit card as I did not want them to send the babies out just to have them sit on my porch and die. The day after I filed a claim they made a shipping label and sent them out. So now those poor babies will die, as if I'm not going through enough right now watching my dad die in the hospital. This is absolutely tragic. I offered for them to even keep half the money too to not send them. Shame on you all. I will not stop shouting from the rooftop how horrible you all are until your stopped!.Feather Lover Farms

We are sorry about any issues. You placed your order on February 24 and even emailed ** on February 25th asking us to apply a discount of 15% to your order. You emailed us the day before they shipped in the afternoon and we did not read the email until they shipped. You had a very small order of just 3 chicks and even bought them when on sale at a good price. We did not intentionally steal your money, we did not see email before they shipped. We hope you have someone to care for your chicks that you ordered just 4 days ago. Thank you

I bought five Lavender Marans from Feather Lover Farms last fall. The website brags and boasts about them laying dark "chocolate" colored eggs, and even has pictures of very dark eggs. Out of the five chicks I ordered, only three were hens. The hens have just started laying, and guess what? The eggs are NOT chocolate brown, they aren't even dark brown! I feel completely mislead and frankly, lied to. I tried to leave a review on their website warning others that the eggs ARE NOT chocolate brown, and they will not post the review. That is being deceitful! I paid seventy nine dollars a chick, knowing that's a completely ridiculous price for ANY chicken, because I was convinced that they would lay chocolate brown eggs! To make matters worse, they all look completely different from each other in size, color, comb shape, and feet feathers. I'm beyond ****** off.Feather Lover Farms

We reached out to this customer. She showed us photos of the eggs. 2 of the eggs are light brown and one eggs is dark brown. We told her we are the only hatchery that aoffers this breed and color and they are a new breed and not perfected yet. We told her if she wants the darkest eggs possible please try copper marans as they lay the darkest eggs. We offered to send this person replacement chicks and she also keeps emailing us photos for advice on breeding her birds from us so we are pretty sad and upset she felt the need to leave multiple revierws on here using multiple email accounts. Her eggs of her hens are not bad and one egg is even dark brown so to leave multiple bad reviews on here trashing us is quite sad when we tried to help her and do all we can.Review fromTerri P

I ordered 6 silkie chicks for **** delivery. They shipped on a Wednesday and I did not receive until Saturday. They sent me the wrong order, I received 19 chicks. 10 Leghorns, 3 Americanos and 6 silkies (all dead or dying) I have sent 6-8 emails with no response. I now have 13 chickens I did not want or order and I cannot get any kind of response. They told me priority shipping but 3.5 days in transit was too much for the chicks. so much for live delivery guarantee.Feather Lover Farms

Hi there, This review you left is very innaccurate. You paid for prirotry shipping and we still upgraded the shipping for you to overnight express mail free of charge to you which ocsts us allot more. It was supposed to arrive the next day and **** delayed the mail 3 days. Here is tracking for anyone wanting to see the tracking and the product info clearly shows express mail, (fastest possible shipping when shipping chicks) Also, we do not have or breed leghorns and we do not know what you mean by americanos. We do not have those breeds. We sent you silkies plus extras. We emailed you within 24 hours of your emails and you kept saying over a week period of time the silkies keep dying for up to a week. Did you not provide them heat and a brooder at 95 degrees and chick feed and water It sounds like you did not produce them a heat source which is why they took a week to die after you received them. Hi Laura, We are sorry you feel this way. You told us you will be out on vacation in july. We sent your chicks yesterday and we even sent you 5 free extra chicks plus your order and we also upgraded your chicks to express mail even though you paid for the slower priority shipping. 5 free exttra chicks and free-upgraded shipping to help get your chicks to you safely and you leave this for us? Kind of harsh. Every email from you is rude and has exclamation points shouting at us. You said we didn't send your chicks? Please find a different place to buy from. I ordered 4 chicks for my mother. They sent six. 2 arrived dead and another 2 died the next day. They dont refund money, only offer a store credit, that means you can use the credit but will have to pony up more money to buy chicks with a 25% survival rate. I should have ******d the company before I placed the order. Any company with no ****** reviews should be a red flag.Feather Lover Farms

Over year now haven't received Chick ordered white legbar. Way over year now but they still offer for sale ! Then said I'd accept ANY equivalent chick after way way year later and was told can't send just one chick -- even though original order was 3 -- plus wanted to charge me for expedited shipping due to weather!! -- so I patiently understood -- but what the c*** -- really going on almost 2 years, and still waiting! We are sorry you feel this way but feel people should know both sides of the story. You kept forcing ** to ship just 1 chick alone in the mail. No hatchery or anyone can send just 1 chick. We offer credit for losses and sent you credit. You demand we send the 1 chick in the mail in freezing cold temps in winter that doesnt work that way. The chick wont survive and we wont send you just 1 chick. We told you we can refund you the 1 chick anytime and you keep insisting we send the 1 chick. You also paid priority mail and we told you if you upgrade to express we would send free extra chicks and send the chick. You wont upgrade to express so we refunded you the value you paid for the 1 chick. You have now been banned from our site and social media platforms. Please dont contact our farm again. How they twist the truth. I originally ordered 3 chicks -- they sent me 2 correct chicks, 1 mystery chick, which after many pictures they insisted to prove it wasn't a white leg bar I ordered, they 6 months later finally acknowledged I was right, had to wait until now, another 8 months -- while they're continuing to sell that variety of chick on line available when over a year same variety they with many excuses couldn't send me even when told them I'd accept any chick available earlier was told " sure. Sorry. We'll ASAP send 3 mystery chicks!". Don't know what their problem is with their company, but now recieved nasty text from them stating they're issuing me a refund and they've blocked me and can never order from them again -- and that's a quote!! I ordered 10 chicks from this farm. 14 arrived. 1 was dead and one was not doing well at all, 2 had splay leg. I emailed them right away to tell them and they told me I would get a refund for one of my $79 chicks) which I have yet to see) and that they had included 2 free chicks with my order. I appreciate the free chicks but they are not thr $79 chicks I paid for. If I pay $79 for a chick, I want a $79 chick, not a freebie. I have since had another chick die and 2 more have developed late onset splay let ( at 6 weeks). One chick is not the breed I paid for and it appears to be a random chick. I have emailed them multiple times and heard back once with a credit offer which is invaluable to me because I do not want any more of their chicks. Especially with a $60 shipping fee.Ive had chickens for 8 years and never had these problems. We refunded you the value you paid for your chick with the 20% discount you used when ordering. All chicks shiup happy and healthy the day they hatch each week .We ship to 501-- customers weekly around the country. If your chicks keep getting splay leg then you are likely not providing the chicks with a firm footing. You need to use shavings or a small mesh wire floor so they do not get splay legs. Newspaper or paper towels are notorious for splay legs. This person ordered 10 chicks, were sent 4 free extras i their order and 1 didn't survive, they then slowly died from splay leg because customer did not know how to provide chicks proper care and threaten to report us.. Not sure what we can do for them but we refunded them and offered help but they seem to think we are bad people... Sorry they feel this way. We tried to help and refunded them. Our chicks thrive on our farm and our customer chciks usually thrive as well. We are npip certified healthy disease free flock. Sorry you had issues.Review fromAmy W

I should have read the reviews. Like everyone else on here clearly states. I ordered 3 Ayam Cemani chicks in ********** were $177.00. I expected to receive them Jan 31st. As requested, assuming that justified the cost. I have never left a bad review before and after this experience just want to warn people to steer clear of this company. Today is April 13th. I asked for a refund march 23 and was told a 50% refund would be all I could recieve. I was extremely disappointed considering the full price with shipping was $246.00, for 3 birds. That's on me though that I agreed to the extremely high price. I said I would take the 50% refund. On April 12th, after repeated emails since March 16th, they sent me shipping notification. I panicked bc I had nowhere for these birds and had requested a refund 2 weeks before. I messaged immediately and recieved the 2nd fastest response I ever got. All caps. They were sorry and would send the refund. Mind you at this point we are 2 weeks outside of their own refund policy. They finally sent the refund to day, April 13th, I got $123.00. This business not only showed extreme disorganization and poor customer service, their response to my email was that I already accepted the 50% refund. I wish I had never attempted business with them and am writing this to warn others there are much better farms to work with that respond promptly and professionally. I will never order again and would encourage others to avoid them at all cost. I could write more but these are the main reasons for my negative review.
