      Ordered a blue iguana, barking tree frog and a 15 pack of live feeder tree frogs, iguana came severely malnourished and weak, 13 of the tree frogs were dead in a container that had zero air holes, and the barking tree frog is nowhere to be found, Ordered a red iguana and has zero health issues and is alert and active. Reached out only to get a replacement or refund and just get ignored, never doing business with this company again and they should be ashamed of themselves for abusing and neglecting animals.

      Received 15 dead frogs, a iguana that was malnourished and one item completely missing from shipment. Reached out via phone several times no answer full voicemail unable to leave a message. Also Reached out via email no response. ******** company do not recommend!

      ******** ****** ordered a male red bellied turtle through backwater reptiles and was extremely happy to get him and paid for the overnight shipping and they told her that because of weather conditions he was going to be shipped Monday she didn't get him till Wednesday and he was not packaged properly like they promised no heating pad to keep him warm he was dead on arrival and email after email they won't give her money back she might have to take them to court to get her money back. Backwater reptiles is careless and does hold up their end of the agreement as promised

      Ordered a Chilean rose spider and got an email that my transaction had been flagged as suspicious. Was asked to verify my identity. When I did that they said they would only send my spider to the country of my drivers license due to potential 'fraud' they refused to send it to ***** the adress i cited and the adress to which my card was billing.(unfortunately I still hold a drivers license from another country). I mean they were even willing to send the spider which they accused me of fraudulently buying but even still refused to send it where I said. Worst company to do business with.

      We just received a Redfooted tortoise today and he is absolutely perfect!!! He came in a super secure package and is doing great!!! We just love our new addition to our family! Hes perfect!

      This is probably the absolute best company I have ever done business with. The spider I ordered ended up being out of stock, and they offered me some awesome replacements! They emailed me immediately, and were very responsive. I even had to leave the country unexpectedly, and instead of cancelling my order, they held it for me and responded IMMEDIATELY when I returned. My spider arrived alive, within 24 hours of shipping (replacement ordered on a Saturday, so it couldn't be shipped until Monday), and incredibly well packaged. This is the only place I will purchase tarantulas from now on.

      Do not order from them. I order a Russian tortoise and she arrived sick. I soaked her and tried to get her to drink and eat on her own. Never happened. I tried to get her to a vet but that takes a bit. She died a few days ago, barely over their guarantee expiration. I had to go dig up her rotting corpse to get them their stupid verification photo. Then, they said they couldn't refund me but could offer a heavy discount if I wanted to try again. WHY WOULD I ORDER THROUGH THEM A SECOND TIME?!!! I am absolutely disgusted.
