Went for a physical and got a 650$ bill. Lot of unnecessary non preventative tests like antibody levels were ordered that the insurance doesnt cover. A 40 min visit charge was applied although my consultation was only for a few minutes. Been going back and forth between billing and doctors office for months and dont get any reason or specific answers as to why these tests were ordered when not necessary or why my consultation charge was so high. I thought going for a physical will improve my health but no. Not at Sutter Health, they dont care about patients. They only care about making money! There are several complaints about Sutter Health and I wonder why no action is being taken.

Terrible from the awful online service to Dr ************ six months out . I have had asthma since childhood and after my wife switch our coverage I needed to get a inhaler . I quickly found out that their online app was confusing and information . I asked to schedule a appointment which I got no response I called the Dr ****** for the Dr they appointed me no response a week later my wife finally was able to speak to someone and scheduled a appointment with my new dr six months from the day of the phone call she told them it was urgent I got a inhaler so they scheduled a appointment in another town with a different Dr. ***** seeing him I thought well at least I'll be able to get the medications that I was prescribed before . But I wasn't out of the four medications prescribed only one was available apparently it had something to do with the price of one of the inhalers. Later I got a call from the pharmacy saying they changed the type of prescription and it was available when I went to pick it up Sutter health still hasn't responded so it wasn't available a week later this still was the case . My Dr still hasn't reached out to clear it up and has no idea who I am or the fact I haven't received three of the four medications prescribed . Today I called because I've had a nagging cough that won't go away and asked for them to prescribe a medicine I had received before from my previous Dr . They refused wanting me to go to their urgent care saying they needed to listen to my chest .that's ridiculous it's just a way for them to charge for emergency service there are now four medications that I used daily so I wouldn't have to use my rescue inhaler all the time . They know the risk in someone over using the rescue inhaler but it is of no concern for them and have refused to help me unless I go to emergency . For a cough.if I'm unable to get my previous insurance I plan to *** them for putting my health at risk .Six months is to long for a Dr to not know you as a patient

OMG, this place is just awful! Disrespectful, vicious and violent. The doctors don't do what they say they will, they will threaten you if you insist that they follow-up on diagnoses, and they will even go so far as to deny you health care by someone else! This is absolutely abhorrent. Very dishonest and uncaring to say the least!

I set up a normal annual checkup over the phone. When I did so I provided my insurance information and was told that I had coverage (which would be a $25-$30 copay). After the visit I was charged over $500 and told I did not have coverage. I went back and forth with the billing department several times and they admitted that I had been told that I had coverage, but tried to disclaim responsibility on the basis that confirming "that coverage is active" is not the same as confirming that a specific "provider is in-network for your particular insurance plan."This is a deceptive business practice and I highly encourage those who are considering Sutter for their medical needs to look elsewhere.

Unfortunately I have to give one star. They don't deserve any when it comes to their GI Department scheduling. I tried to schedule a colonoscopy with them back in October at their Fairfield location and played phone tag with them and I gave up trying to schedule with them when they never returned my calls. I had my doctor refer me to ***** and there I got to talk to someone, but they could not make the appointment. They said someone would call me to schedule it. Four days later someone called and I was not available to take the call. I returned the call not long after and was told the person doing the scheduling had gone for the day. That was last Friday. One week later still no call. I wrote and complained to Sutter and was told they contacted the ******** in ***** to call me. Here it is two days after I was told they would have someone call me and no call. They need someone that is actually available to schedule appointments, not one person that will call at some unknown point in the future after I call. They are a complete joke and I would not recommend them to anyone. This is the worst medical service I have ever received anywhere because of the lack of customer service. That shows me that they do not care about their patients one bit.

I had a standard follow-up visit with my doctor after discussing a few concerns at a physical. After this visit, I was charged $600 that wasn't covered by my insurance. I've had the same insurance for 6 years and I've never paid more than a $20 co-pay for an ****** visit. The doctor I saw wrote an inaccurate summary of our visit, indicating that I was requesting diagnostic testing for multiple issues, which we did not discuss, and the billing department took those notes and incorrectly coded the visit for insurance. I contacted my doctor and the billing department to correct this obvious error and I received dismissive, rude responses from both. When I called the ****** multiple times, they said they couldn't help me and that I'd have to call another department. Finally, I asked my insurance company to call the doctor's ****** and then I received a letter from Sutter Health saying that I was incorrectly charged since the billing department coded my visit incorrectly. It took months for them to send me this letter, and the charge is still "pending" in my portal. If I had not asked my insurance to call, I would have been expected to pay over $600 (this happened for a second appointment as well) to the doctor's ****** for a standard follow up visit where no tests were taken, no diagnoses were given, and no procedures were done. Another issue was that every time my doctor approved an automatic refill for a prescription, they coded it as an ****** visit. This billing **** is trying to make money off of insured patients by filing inaccurate codes. It felt as if the billing department was trying to see if I would pay these bills without asking any questions. They are taking advantage of patients that do not know how to/cannot advocate for themselves. They still have the charge marked as "pending" 6 months later, even though my insurance has already paid it.

More like No stars. My grandmother just passed away in the *** The charge nurse refused and house supervisor refused to speak to speak to us. They kept telling us the house supervisor would come speak to us.. almost two hours went by with no charge nurse or supervisor. They only allowed a few of our family members to say their goodbyes. How can a hospital refused their loved ones the chance to say their final goodbyes. We werent asking for long. Death is one of the hardest to process. How can this hospital say they strive to serve their patients. They dont deserve that statement after what they did tonight.

Parking zoo at ********* Sutter Hospital. Construction to add parking has temporarily removed parking, so they staffed valet. But, every Wednesday mornings the parking situation is 10 times worse, with cars lined up for valet backed up onto the street and BARELY moving. I learned from staff that this is a regular occurrence. This causes patients to miss appointments. It is NOT fair to them or their doctors. Management staff should solve the problem and communicate a formal apology through various local media (e.g. NPR, KCRA, Sac Bee).

I was referred to a urologist by my primary care since I didn't want to take flomax for nocturia as it causes retrograde *********** I agreed to rezume surgery since I didn't want retrograde E. He said the turp was better for what I wanted and it's the same as rezume except instead of steaming itt he scraps it away. Big lie as the rezume doesn't touch the bladder neck and the turp removes it causing retrograde *********** which I didn't want and was the reason I was referred to him. I've been complaining for a yesr and 10 months to get bladder neck reconstruction surgery to fix the problem and Sutter is not coming through.

They charged me over $1200 for the exam I have never taken. My healthcare provider, *********************** told me that she did not ordered the exam. However, the billing department insisted that the doctor added the exam and concluded that the charge was correct. However, I don't see any test results, and I have not heard any explanations from the doctor either. It has been more than two months since I submitted a claim for this false charge. Now, I cannot trust either the organization nor *********************** because I doubt the doctor actually added the exam without getting my consent. She never explained me what caused such a mess. Besides this matter, ************ ordered other unnecessary exams. For example, she ordered a stool blood test even though she knew that I would have a colonoscopy exam in a few months. She also ordered a pylori exam for my lower abdomen pain. I feel like I was ripped off by the doctor and the organization.
