Hello,I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to seek your assistance regarding a concerning issue we're experiencing with our solar panel system. Despite our numerous attempts to contact our solar panel installer, Green Day Power, they have been unresponsive, leaving us in a difficult situation. We completed the installation of our solar panel system at our residence located at *************************************************************************, back in June 2023, after signing our closing documents in February of the same year. We paid the full amount of $28,008 for the system, expecting reliable service as per our contractual agreement with Green Day Power.Unfortunately, we've encountered challenges since the installation process, particularly during the inspection stages conducted by PG&E. Green Day Power's initial installation and subsequent revisions did not meet the recommended guidelines, resulting in two unsuccessful inspections. Despite our persistent attempts to communicate with Green Day Power, they only made necessary modifications to the system in January 2024.Following these modifications, we reached out to Green Day Power to schedule the final inspection with PG&E, but they have been completely unresponsive to our communications. We were left with no choice but to arrange the final inspection ourselves to ensure compliance with all requirements for NEM 2.0. Additionally, we recently discovered that Green Day Power is no longer in business, which explains their lack of support in facilitating communication with PG&E.Currently, our solar panels are not functioning correctly, and the accompanying app prompts us to contact Green Day Power for assistance. My wife and I are understandably stressed about this situation and would greatly appreciate your guidance and support in resolving this issue. Thank you for your assistance.Best regards,******

Hello we purchased and signed off on contract with full payment with Green Day Power on 03/13/2023. We've been trying to reach them to finish the job with ****** and for them to give us access to the app and no one has been able to get reached. We've tried calling and leaving messaged in all locations and no one has reached back. I finally found the owner ******************* on ******** and sent him a message, however he replied with he has not been the owner of Green Day Power since 2022. I need someone to reach out to me to complete the job. This is urgent!

We contracted with Green Day Solar to install solar panels and a new electrical panel and have solar electrical services activated with LADWP. We signed the agreement on 06/20/2023. Solar panels were installed on the roof of our house at ******************************************************** in August. On 9/1, we received an email from LADWP with our solar meter spot. Our solar was not activated at that time and when an inspector came in November they said the wrong electrical panel had been installed. We also received an email notice from LADWP saying we were ineligible for solar because we already had panels installed. We alerted ******************************* (our Project Manager at Green Day) about both issues but by this time our contact with the company was becoming sporadic. On December 13, a technician came out and installed a different electrical panel, ripping out our brand-new stucco in the process. In November, we also started paying on the financing for the solar so the full amount was paid to Green Day without them completing our solar project. We are currently paying the balance of our loan for non-working solar, in addition to our regular DWP bill.In December, we exchanged emails with the project team at Green Day in regards to when our final inspection and stucco repair would take place. This communication was sporadic and we began reaching out to a number of different team members regarding obtaining this inspection and repair. Our emails were unanswered until finally on January 23 I received a call from a new project manager, ***, who said that our inspection would take place on Feb. 2. On Feb 1, I received another call saying that due to a shortage of technicians they had to cancel our inspection. Now we cannot get in touch with anyone from the company, and have been unable to have the final inspection and stucco repair scheduled at all.

We received a new roof by Green Day prior to putting our solar on the roof. Since then, weve had continuous leaks and now we have a tarp on our roof and company is not answering our calls.

I like to finish the job. I have reached out to them many times and they keep telling me that they are going to schedule the reinspection or they do not answer my calls. I talked to ****** many times in Dec. 2023, ************, and then the line was disconnected. A lady by the name of *******, ************ and ************, left me a message on Jan. 29, 2024, letting me know that they were not coming that day. I have left her a lot of messages and she has not called me once.

In June 2023, I signed a contract with Green ********** approving the installation of solar panels on my home for a loan amount of $28,060.00. I was assured that the solar panels would be installed by the end of September 2023. As of today, the modified plans still have not been approved by the city of Norwalk.Green Day Power is the contractor that was hired to do the installation of the solar equipment. *** is the project manager and ****** is the head of operations. On October 25, 2023 the city came out to inspect the initial work. It was rejected because we needed to remove the trees near the equipment before the city would approve the plans. We worked with the company and agreed upon removing one tree, trimming the rest of the trees, while reducing the amount of equipment for the battery. We were told that they would modify the plans and resubmit them to the city of Norwalk for approval.*** from Green Day Power called and scheduled an appointment for January 19, 2024 to do the wiring for the battery. When the workers came out I was told that they were there to remeasure the area to place additional batteries because they had the original plan with no trees on it. At this point, I realized that the plans were never revised or submitted. I received my first statement from Service Finance in December and paid my first installment payment on January 4, 2024 in the amount of $103.58. Not only do I have to pay my electric bill but now I have a Solar payment as well. I do not feel that I should have to pay for the solar panels since the installation of the equipment has not been completed. I want Green Day Power to complete the installation of the solar panels immediately.I am a senior on a limited income and feel that Green Day Power should be obligated to get my solar batteries installed and operational as soon as possible. I am not pleased with this company and would never recommend them to anyone.

I am rejecting this response because: Good morning,
My complaint #******** was rejected with the reason it was a duplicate. My original complaint before this never received the follow up after Green Day responded that they would come out and fox their mistake on Friday 11/10/23. It was a no show with no communication. That is why I submitted another complaint. Please advise. I would like assistance in remediating and finishing the job they have owned up to as placing the main power unit in the wrong location, which has delayed our solar activation.

    Thank you,

    Malia,

We are disappointed that you have experienced a poor level of customer service. We have had operational changes and unfortunately there has been a temporary slow down as we work through. Your project has been escalated to upper management and have been asked to prioritize correcting your project.

    Best,

    GDP Management.

I am rejecting this response because: Correct. That adjustment was to offset the fact that I would be paying for a non-operable system. When the sales person came out it was told to me that "I would have two months that would be not charged until the loan starts". This was a great talking point with the expectation that my solar would be working once installed. Can someone please contact me? The level of customer service I had received after the system has been installed is very sub par. I have reached out to the local office requesting management over 10 times with false promises that ******* would reach back out to me which 4-5 months later has still not happened. It's sad to say that I feel like you cared to get my business but once those solar panels were installed on my work working or not, nobody has the courtesy to follow up or reach back out when I call. I have family members who have used other solar companies and they were operating the very next day. I am at a loss of words for the fact that this is the way I am being treated as a customer and nobody wants to take responsibility for the fact that it took 4-5 months to get my system installed and working. So yeah, the company credited the amount of money I should not be pay on a non-working system while also paying for pge. Moreover, why would I want solar panels on my roof for that long and not be able to take advantage of the benefits of them on my roof for a majority of the months that generate the most power because someone did not put forth effective project management on the installation of my solar.
E which was not scheduled for an another month. PG&E comes out and inspects that system. The inspection got pushed out two months and after that I find out that my panels aren't working due to a part that the 2nd installer did not have. Luckily I called, so someone could schedule another person to come out and replace the part on a new system that was not even working. So while I am told that it would be a smooth process and that I can start saving on PG&E, I am actually paying for both the system and PG&E. I have called the company over ***************************************************** over and over and over. This is a result of horrific project management and failure to follow up, which I am sad to say that I am regretting ever had signing up for solar with this company. As it seams all they cared about was getting me installed and as to whether or not it is working after that it is not their problem, the company received their money so who cares.

I am rejecting this response because:

The inspection has failed again and I am not operational. In regards to all the "add on" that were provided. That is not at all what I wanted. Greenday power knew that when they came out to put solar panels on ******* they were not in a position to provide me with the equipment that was on the contract. Greenday forced me to use their service and trap me into a contract with them by installing their equipment. We are now 1 year into this project and I have been forced to pay thousands of dollars in electric bills when this should have been installed and operating in 2022.

    Business Response

    ****,

We do apologize for the struggles with your project. We will be on site for your inspection today, and will remain diligent to complete your project. The plans were scheduled to be ready 8/23 which is why we scheduled the inspection for 8/24. Unfortunately, they were approved earlier today (8/24). The good news is that we were able to convince the city to keep the inspection on the calendar. Our team initially relayed incorrect information to you, and we apologize for that.

A correction on your claim - GDP has not requested you to pay any additional cost. When we spoke I highlighted that cost of the different batteries are indeed more expensive ($9,000) and would review what we can do to right the situation. You emailed that you cannot incur any additional cost. Here is a snip of my email response to you, "I am swapping the generacs to two solar edge batteries with no change in price".

Additionally, you received an upgraded inverter from what you were sold, costing GDP ~$1000 additional. You have not been asked to pay for this.

    ****,

Our goal is not to trap you or anyone. We have clear direction on what the city needs and are pushing to get it done.
