    I bought a house in June 2023 that has Solar Edge solar panels installed. There is a big solar electrical box on the side of my house with blinking lights. They are generally green but sometimes blink yellow, and I fear that that *** indicate some form of malfunction. When I called Solar Edge to inquire about the correct functioning of the solar system, they referred me to the installer, Green Day Power. Solar Edge informed me that Green Day Power would provide me with access to a solar app that would allow me to monitor the status and power generation of the solar panels. When I tried to contact Green Day Power, I ran into the same problem that many other customers seem to be having with this company, i.e. they are completely unreachable and unresponsive. Over the course of the past three weeks I placed about 10 calls to Green Day Power at different times of day, all of which went to voicemail. I left my name and number twice, but they never called back. Over that same period I also sent them a total of four emails and asked them to get in touch with me. I did not receive any response to those emails either.

    I am rejecting this response because: When will I be online with ****** and when did you submit my paperwork and was it every return due to it not being completed properly? A few of my neighbors, your customers, have stated theirs was kick back as many times as 4 times due to you company NOT submitting properly? Why do I have to go the the BBB to get a response? What about the $1,500 agreement with *************************** that I have in write and your company is claiming ZERO responsibility. Our community has given you 5-6 installations and NONE are happy!!! WHEN WILL I BE ONLINE, SHORT & SIMPLE??? Thanks for taking my money and here I am asking for answer and Green Day Power has gone radio silent.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    The initial problem was that we did not hear any response from Green Day Power about the status of our application that was pending due to incomplete required information. We called and emailed all of our contacts from GDP numerous times (called them almost every other day) and did not get any response. If the company would have just responded, we would have been happy and at peace waiting for the SCE's final PTO approval. 

    We felt that BBB was our only hope to get response, and yes, BBB did it. We are so blessed to have BBB assist and help ** get a response from GDP.

    We apologize for this issue. Your account as well as a large group of clients statewide are unfortunately in a "submitted not fully approved" status with the utility. With the change in net metering, there has been a large uptick in applications that have bottlenecked the *** approval process. Your project has been submitted since March when GDP finished the work on your project. Attached is a snip of the *** portal as back up. We check statuses every day and review with *** all GDP jobs in this queue. Sadly, we have jobs that have been sitting even longer than your project. GDP is doing everything possible to get all jobs stuck in this status through.

    I did signed a contract and they have no rights to reject the installation. The contractor *******************************  confined it he said we shouldnt have any issues installing the solar panels even if we have to remove the clay **** on the roof. So now they are not being honest about the installation. They said the project will cost $14000 with installation and no extra fees. For any reason if they want to cancel my installation then I will have to take legal action. This is the fourth time I get screwed over by different solar companies.

    We understand and share your frustration. When *** performed an inspection of your property, the tile was found to be not able to safely facilitate the installation and to correctly weatherproof. This can only be fully known at the time of inspection due to the wide range of variables in roof types.

    We have section 13 in the *** home improvement contract for your protection as well as ***'s. Here is a snip of this section: "If unforeseen or concealed conditions are discovered, or if actual conditions are materially different than as represented, then Green Day Power shall be entitled to a mutually agreeable change order adjusting the price and/or time for completion to accommodate such conditions. In the event You elect not to make any such changes, either Party may terminate. Should any special assessment or survey be required (i.e. Biological, archaeological, flood plain, geological, etc.), it is to be provided by You. Not included in this Contract is an additional charge for expenses which may be incurred if sub-surface soil conditions (i.e. rock, water, underground streams, etc.) are not workable with standard equipment equal to a Bobcat type skip loader. If any of the above conditions are encountered, there will be an additional charge."

    Please let us know what your decision is: 1) cancel or 2) move forward with the change order for additional necessary work. We will assume project cancellation if we do not hear from you.

    They put up Solar Panels without approval of *********** and Electric.System doesn't work. Didn't finish the job and left open trenches in my backyard with Electrical conduit them and now trenches are full of water due to rain.PGE says the system needs a new transformer to work. They said a new Transformer is at least one year out.

    I have left several messages for you to personally call me.   There are still broken tiles on the roof, the flashing around the main stack that fell off has still not been fixed and there is a gaping hole around it.  We are now expecting rain yet again, so not sure how the mold issue can be fixed when water is clearly still getting into our roof from issues your workers caused.  When will this system be ready to show LADWP again so that we can get this system permitted and start benefiting from the electricity the panels are producing at an extra cost to us at this time?

    The only person at this company that responds in a timely manner to our concerns is ***********************, who is sales representative.  And he is only able to flag this to the companies attention on our behalf to no avail.

Green Day turned the system on over a month ago, so we are paying on the loan and for it to run and not getting any benefits from it. Not only are we paying for a system that is costing us vs saving us, the mishandling is now affecting the health of our family. Green Day sent out a "Mold Specialist" today that could not tell me exactly what he did to remediate the mold that their damage had caused. We have small children and my wife is asthmatic.

    We have a crew onsite today and we are re-doing the penetration work, replacing any tiles that look damaged, leaving additional tiles on site, and re-inspecting the attic for any possibility of water/mold intrusion.     This has been escalated to upper management, they are heavily involved, and have diverted additional resources to quickly resolve the outstanding issues. Green Day sent a third party to your home on 3/23 to remediate any mold to ensure all items will be resolved. They are preparing an inspection and remediation report and this will be shared once received. If this does not show that mold has been remediated, Green day Power will escalate the services/next steps. The 40 tiles have been replaced, happy to provide back up and replace any other tiles to ensure you are fully satisfied. The team will be redoing the conduit penetration to ensure no more leaks occur. The Field manager has been instructed to prioritize any remaining inspections/services.

    The tech and DWP inspector did come out today.  I'll accept this as soon as the tiles that were broken by the tech today (3/31/23) are replaced.  He said this would be taken care of early next week.

    I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for the response. I understand that **** may be difficult to work with and 'move the goalposts' but that doesn't address the 8 months that nothing was done on submitting the application.  In fact during those 8 months nothing was even submitted to **** as far as I can tell, besides one piece of paper.  I see from the **** weekly report (3/6/2023) that you have had some success in completing other project applications.  I also see on the report that the on my data set, the batteries are not paired with a photovoltaic system which is inaccurate.  I have functioning interconnected solar. This was also inaccurate on the 2022 cancellation. I sincerely hope that you are doing all you can to expedite this process, not forgetting the 8 months of inaction.  
    work was accepted, there was no longer money in the step. Now it seems we're back to square one with incomplete/insufficient documentation being provided by Green Day. I paid for my batteries as agreed to in the contract. Green Day clearly cannot fulfill their promise to submit complete and accurate paperwork for the **** rebate. I have been waiting 14 months for an accurate submission to be accepted. I have no idea if my project will every be accepted and I have been nothing but cooperative and patient. I need a resolution and compensation for the lack of ability to file a complete submission in a timely manner.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  We understand that this has been a challenging process and we apologize for the issues surrounding the **** rebate. After a comprehensive review of your file, the notes reflect the fact that Green Day Power followed each and every direction that **** provided, at each and every step in the process.  Having said that, **** has essentially been moving the goalposts on us in that they would, for example, request a revision to our submission, and then, upon revising and resubmitting, the subsequent response from **** would, in fact, contradict the prior response we received.  We share and empathize with your frustration as we have truly been doing everything possible to get this rebate handled for you in an efficient and expeditious manner, and yet, the results, which are outside of our control, do not reflect the efforts we have expended. 

    With regard to your request for reimbursement from Green Day Power, with matters such as this, which necessarily require actions to be taken by a 3rd party which Green Day Power has no control over, Green Day Power simply cannot take on the additional burden of somehow guarantying the response time or follow-through of an outside entity.  For this reason, we have a specific section in our Home Improvement Contract, Section G(4), which addresses this very issue from the start, to avoid any uncertainty or future conflict.  That section states that: Green Day Power makes no representation or warranty concerning the availability or amount of any such rebate. Green Day Power agrees to prepare and submit any reasonably requested forms to support a rebate application.

    Again, it saddens and troubles us as a company that, in spite of our best efforts and attempts to work through this process, the results do not reflect the aforementioned diligence on the part of Green Day Power.  We will continue to work with you and on your behalf to secure as much rebate as we possibly can.  If you would like for us to share any of the detailed notes about what has transpired along the way, we are happy to do so.

    A contract for solar panel and battery installation was signed in March 2022. The panels were installed in August and they returned 2 weeks later, still in August to supposedly complete the job. They said they were unable to install the battery. They have not completed the installation, been very difficult to reach, and when they are reached, they always say it will be completed in a few weeks. I don't know if having these people back on my property is acceptable. Not sure what the choices are given that they installed the panels already. Either way, I'd like to have the job completed.
