I've owned a business in the banking industry since 1995 and dealwith hundreds of banks and credit unions worldwide. Therefore, I MUST do extensive research to protect my business and $$$$$$$. BOTTOM LINE: Based on my research as of 7/17/2025, I would NEVER waste my time even opening an AXOS bank account UNTIL they resolve ALL the issues described by EVERY other review you'll see here. Most importantly BEWARE of the small print which requires you to setup direct deposits OR deposit $5,000 EVERY MONTH to get their enticing 4.66%APY interest rate. Two of the banks I trust the most today for high interest and good service are Primis and Peak.Axos Bank

If i could give these a******* a negative 5 review I would. Everyone MUST AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Put your money in a shoebox and hide it behind a brick wall in your basement rather than banking with them. First of all, transfers take WEEKS, if they do it at all. I've had several transfers that just never posted to my other account, its as if the system forgot to do it? Then i needed to order checks. I called on the 20th, the representative said it would take 5-7 business days for them to be mailed to me. I called back on the 26th to see when i would expect them to be delivered. That representative (indian customer service ***** said it would come on the 1st GURANTEED. I called on the 1st and they then said it takes ***** days FROM THAT DAY to get the checks in the mail. I then saw a transaction posted on my account on the 26th charging me $13.13 to order checks, so they clearly did not order them on the 20th and were lying to me about when they ordered them. I had decided to already cancel my account at this point because this bank is AWFUL, and in order to cancel the check order and get my $13.13 back i had to call a 3rd party company ******* ******, who made me sit on hold for over 20 minutes to find out that there were actually 2 check orders under my name, i had them cancel the order, and then had to call **** BACK again to get the money credited to my account and that the representative at **** should see that the order was cancelled at *******. To no surprise, the money never posted to my account. So i had to call ******* back, and then **** again. I swear to god this is why people hate banks in this country. These people epitomize exactly what is wrong in this country. The customer is treated like complete garbage and they trick the average consumer with low APY. DONT BE FOOLED, BEWARE. DO NOT USE THESE ANIMALS. THEYRE SUBHUMAN SCUM.Axos Bank

Just opened an account for the high interest rate promised. Wish I had read these reviews first. Turns out I looked but missed fine print of either having to deposit 5k EVERY month, or have auto deposit with the required checking. So, my bad, I opened a *************** which is what I was after. A high yield savings account only, but they're holding my deposit for now that I transferred from a different bank. What put me over the top is they are now spamming my inbox. Every. Day. No bank in the many banks I've done business with has ever been so much like used car sales in your face with their products. It's annoying and not worth the .25-.5 interest extra over other banks offerings that don't deploy these tactics. I regret it, and don't even try to talk to a real person to ask questions. I gave up after 30 mins. Their AI agent is useless if you need anything you can't do yourself by reading their website. I tried rephrasing my requests to no avail. Just gave up and moving on.Axos Bank

1 stari have filed a complaint about week ago that someone stole my personal information from my ************************* acct for $25K. And someone created bank account with them. What happened to my complaint? It's not in BBB website anymore. And the problem is not solved. They did send a memo dated 6/18/25 after i filed my complaint through BBB. Basically, the letter stated $25K "Placed within a designated account". don't know what that mean. The letter also mentioned is that someone created account with them on ******* having my DOB, my e-mail address, mailing address and my SS #. When i had conversation with them before filing with BBB, they asked for my SS# which i declined.Review fromShaun E

1 starAxo is holding $1000 of my money and there is no way to get it back. Their app and website are constantly glitching. I cannot even update my phone number or address, so trying to conduct a transfer to get my funds out and close any relationship with this bank is impossible. The only option given by customer service **** is to send a secure message explaining the issue. I explain the issue verbally and in writing but it does nothing to fix the issue. The company refuses to conduct any sort of customer service to release funds. This is very fraudulent and unethical behavior, hidden behind the ruse of "technical challenges". ******** customer service! Ive had to call multiple times because they keep telling me theyre going to send an email to me with information they need. Its been days and Ive never received any email! Ive been trying to get help from customer service because of a in networks bank *** that crashed in the middle of my deposit. It kept my money and did not credit my axos account. I contacted the in network bank and they told me to contact axos and have them file a dispute against the *** so they can investigate.**** has not contacted, the bank days later, or sent me any emails, or given me any update as to whats going on! I just opened a checking and saving acct. Minimum deposit was ***** in each account. I would receive the 4.66% interest rate. I only received 1%. When I spoke to representative they said I needed to deposit 5000. every month. And maintain a ******************************************************************** the deceptive bank.Axos Bank

I just joined **** 1 week ago. I'll be leaving.I'm impressed by how awful they are. I'm unable to transfer funds internally. I'm also unable to transfer funds from my **** accounts to an external account. The only transfer option I have is to transfer funds TO **** from an external account. How ************* ******************** account did not deposit earned interest. That's illegal. Also, a high yield account, only earning 0.61% APY? Excuse me?Lastly, the app shows funds available in my checking account. The website says the funds are pending. How ridiculous.Customer support asks questions that they should be able to answer themselves, since they have access to my account. I was asked if I'd linked any external accounts. I was then asked to provide a screenshot. But wait, there's more. You cannot provide screenshots or other attachments through the chat feature. You have to exit chat, find the messages feature on the menu, go through a directory, then upload the screenshot. Then you have to navigate back to the chat to tell the customer service *** that you sent it. Then, get this, the *** left the chat. A new *** came after 5 additional minutes and informed me that he couldn't see the secure messages, and to expect a response in 1 to 3 business days. This feels illegal. You cannot just withhold my ********* on earth they have 20 - 30 billion in assets under management is beyond me.Axos Bank

******. **********. I moved my savings to **** from one of their affiliates for a higher advertised rate (4.66%). Of course there were strings attached. I had to open checking and either set up direct deposit OR fund it with $5k to get the rate. The deal also included 0.51% interest paid on checking. I moved the money, opened and funded the required checking account and got a whopping 1% interest on my savings and NOTHING on checking. My experience with their affiliate was similar. I had issues where they had to correct accidentally not crediting the proper interest (never done in my favor though - isn't that odd?). The digital assistant they share for customer service is useless. Its one thing for people in a third world call center to not understand English but an AI should. Theirs is useless. Even with AI customer service, I've gone 2 weeks between making an inquiry and it even being acknowledged (and never actually addressed). Run screamingAxos Bank
